Customer service is poor

Bunnings Takanini today I visited the store looking for a fold up trolley. Customer service in the aisles is very poor. I had to go and search for someone to help me and when I did find somebody they didn't know anything about the product. Check out is poor. Self service was closed, there was only one check out operator who was busy helping someone with their query. Others interrupt as you are about to be served - check out operator tends to the interruption. No apology. The store has no discount or reward system such as Airpoints. That is why I shop at Mitre 10 Takanini. Their service is A1. They offer Airpoints and have several staff who are never too busy to help, in fact they go the extra mile. The staff are also quite knowledgeable. Mitre 10's checkout systems are far better too. Its a pity they didn't stock the product I wanted this time around but they do stock most items I have wanted; you couldn't find a better store. Bunnings, your television ads may look good, but they are very misleading. You really need to step up on the things I have listed as your competition is miles better.

Lack of product knowledge

Wanted a fitting for the toilet seat. Approached staff for help but they didn't really seem to know what I was talking about, even though it was a basic part. They wouldn't walk a few feet so I could show them exactly on a demo toilet what I was looking for. Left store and went to Mitre 10 where I received great help from someone who knew what I was looking for. Bought part from them, job now done.

chaotic shambles

The tap display is chaotic. No staff will help the customers, they pretend to not see you and run in the opposite direction in case you need help. You have to find a step stool and climb it yourself. Stock is all over the place in a shambles and not where it should be. Wrong taps in the boxes. The website is an absolute joke and takes ages to load.

Dissapointed with my experience at Bunnings Kahikatea Drive today. Asked a girl working there for help finding where the nails where, was ignored twice, then politely said excuse me, can you help me and just got a passive aggresive get lost reaction. Also, spent about 10 minutes looking up and down in the paint section while around 5 employees sat around ignoring me.

Shame shame shame on Bunnings, after putting all the good harward stores out of business, Bunnings provide terrible service badly stocked, advertised articles not available and don't go near their 3rd party purchases as Bunnings take no responsibility.

Went to Bunnings store in Hamilton

Went to Bunnings store in Hamilton , Kahikatea Drive , to get timber. I’m novice don’t know timber , never bought timber before. A young tall guy was really helpful. He cut it for me and told me to go to any counter and he’ll bring it to me when he’s cut it. Complete 100% customer service satisfaction. Awesome experience. The timber was way more than I needed but got it cos it was so cheap!!

Parking ticket at Bunnings Te Rapa

Purchased items from Bunnings Te Rapa AM. Had to drive back and purchase more items from Bunnings Te Rapa PM. I got a parking ticket demanding $60.00 on my second visit saying I was parked for more than 3 hours. How hard is it for their own traffic wardens to check security cameras before issuing tickets to regular customers. Although challenged and the ticket was withdrawn, no apology was given. I have spent tens of thousands of $ at the Te Rapa branch over the years and this is how they reward loyalty. I no longer purchase from this branch and no longer specify Bunnings products.

Mt Roskill Bunnings Trade Service

Trailer Hire – Mt Roskill Branch

This was a long, drawn-out process. After waiting in a 15-minute queue, the over-zealous Q&A paperwork for a four-hour hire felt excessive and unnecessary.

It took two attempts for the staff member to enter my details into the database, as the system didn’t save the first time. While trying to stay positive, I was then informed that I couldn’t pay with cash because the machine was down. Hmmm… okay.

I was then told I could collect my trailer — and unfortunately, this is where the experience went from bad to worse.

A reluctant, snarling staff member with an untidy dress code shuffled alongside me. There was no attempt at pleasantries. He unlocked the trailer, dropped it down, glared at me, and walked off.

I may be a bit old-fashioned, but as a female customer who doesn’t tow trailers often, it would have been appreciated — and frankly expected — for the staff member to ask whether I needed assistance lifting or hitching the trailer. Instead, I received a small grunt and his shoulder as he walked away.

As a result, the trailer was not hitched correctly and came unhitched just five minutes down the road. This was both unsafe and extremely frustrating, resulting in more wasted time.

Suggestions for the Trade Service Management Team:
• Additional staffing support is needed at the trade service desk
• Streamline the trailer hire process to improve efficiency and reduce unnecessary paperwork
• Reduce workload pressures to minimise queues and allow for better individual service
• Staff appraisals are clearly needed, with a focus on professional conduct, customer service, and a reminder of Bunnings’ core values

I know that most staff members at the Mt Roskill branch do their best to be helpful and provide positive customer interactions. Unfortunately, one individual within the trade desk team is actively undermining the professionalism and great work of others.

To management:
I hope this review is taken constructively and leads to meaningful improvement.

Beware of Bunnings marketing

Beware of Bunnings marketing. Went into Bunnings Palmerston North yesterday to buy washing machine powder. Big sign hanging over the boxes said $39.49. I picked up a box and went to the check out. Apparently there were two 6kg boxes inside the box I had, so the price was to be double! I went back to look at the sign. Little print on the top of the big price sign does say 6kg. I should have read it but it’s partly obscured by the shelf above and the product was set up to make it appear that that price was for the boxes underneath. Not impressed by your marketing tactics Bunnings.

Bunnings Whangarei has to have the…

Bunnings Whangarei has to have the WORST service at the check outs. Why you may ask? Because there is NEVER ANY checkouts open and this includes during the weekend! The lines go right to your damn nursery entrance!!
If you think its a one off you will be mistaken! The aisles are crammed full of trolleys with unpacked stock on it. Theres ALWAYS 2 people at the return desk and only ONE person serving and the poor bugger stuck behind the tool counter!

Where the hell are the managers who are supposed to manage these situations? Hiding away in the office? Down at KFC or Mcdonalds having a sneaky snack?
Get on your shop floor and do something about it.

You have a handful of staff that know their stuff in the aisles but it becomes tarnished by the lack of service at the damn checkouts!

Oh and another thing. Sort your trade yard roster whilst you’re at it. The amount of times ive been in and waited more than an hour for a cut is a complete JOKE!

Maybe go spend some time down at Mitre 10 and observe what they are doing right. They have checkouts open, people in the aisles greeting and offering help. And a service desk that runs like clock work.

Funny that. Your guys old big boss Derek works there now. Common sense must have packed its bag when he left.

Bad service yet again

I normally favor Bunnings as they tend to be slightly cheaper than Mitre10, but every time time I shop at the Constellation Rd branch I'm always disappointed, never ever enough checkouts open and now the "self checkout" is completely closed. The staff especailly the young ones are in a word useless, lazy and a never bother to lift a finger to help. It's sad I remember when customer service existed. Mitre 10 Albany is better these days they used to be terrible, I might just shop there now and pay the extra.

After another 3days, that's today, i drove to bunnings asking to counter top updates, and then I was told again the counter top need another one week!!! Holy moly,, my kitchen has been in big mess for 3 days already,,, and needs to wait at least one more week!! Nobody told me that the cabinets and top are split to arrive,,. very unpleasant experience..

BUNNINGS TAKANINI DO BETTER!!!!!

BUNNINGS TAKANINI DO BETTER!!!!!

Called to see if someone could confirm if they had stock of something in there store. This girl I spoke to told me "No we don't have this in stock, the 1 vanity we have showing in the inventory is the display".

I then came into the store and found 1 vanity on the floor. If you don't like your job or lazy to do your job, find another. Don't just say what you "think" is right but actually walk and confirm.

6:15pm went to Bunnings Botany pickup an item went pay, all the self-checkout closed, one vacant looking staff crossed her throat indicating check outs closed?
One girl at the tool's checkout with a dozen people in the queue & the other checkout at customers returns with a queue of fifteen people. Why were the self-checkouts closed with about twenty Bunnings staff walking around ay 6:30pm? Useless!

Bunnings in Porirua have very poor customer service

Bunnings in Porirua have a good range of stock and good prices but their customer service is very poor. The checkouts are either closed or there is nobody serving. To buy something you have to join lengthy queues at the paint desk or information desk and wait behind others returning goods. It takes a long time. Meanshile down the hill at Mitre10 Mega you get a better range or goods as the same prices with excellent customer service at the checkouts.
