Watch doesn't fit

Still waiting on the extra links for my Bulova Icon Diamond Men's Watch 98J120 because Bulova didn't send enough links to fit a mans wrist. I think it is ridiculous that they can send me a watch that doesn't fit, and are still selling the exact watch to be delivered within 2 weeks but the extra links take 6-8 months to arrive. I called customer service to speak with a manager but Bulova didn't get back to me. All my other Bulova watches fit except for the Precionist which was the most expensive of my other three Bulova watches.

I bought a Bulova Precisionist watch a few years back. It broke and I sent it to Citizen Watch repair in Toronto in December with payment for its repair. Bulova is a sub-brand of Citizen, as I discovered. I has been nearly 3 months and I got a notice from Citizen that it will be another 8 or more weeks before it can get the parts. I would not buy another Bulova or Citizen watch because this is the usual experience (i.e. it doesn't last long and is very hard to get repaired) AVOID!!

In October 2025

In October 2025, we ordered a bracelet for a Bulava watch. The payment was taken quickly, but the order was never received. We waited a long time, wrote to customer service in December, they answered us only in January, it turned out that the bracelet, which costs almost $90, was sent to us in November, no tracking number, no email, they did not provide it to us, and today they sent us a tracking number and advised us to contact UPS, they did not accept the claim because 60 days had passed, we wrote to customer service again, silence.

The customer service is non-existent

The customer service is non-existent. I'd be cautious of purchasing a product from this company. I was needing two replacement links for my watch and went to their website. There doesn't appear to be a way to order through the website but there is a CONTACT US link for you to email a request. There is an immediate AI generated response to the email that says they will get back to you in one business day. The email also has FAQs to try to answer your question. These only directed me back to the CONTACT US link. I waited several days with no additional response so I called their customer service number. I waited on hold for 10 minutes. During the hold it announced you could press 2 and request a call back. That did not work. I hung up and called back a few hours later. Someone answered but when I stated what I needed he said he was only able to help with New Orders and transferred me to the Parts Department. I sat on hold for an additional 30 minutes with no answer. I also attempted to use the chat service on the customer service site and it just generates AI responses that directed me back to the CONTACT US link or the customer service number. Just absolutely ridiculous. Please be cautious about spending money with this type of company.

Poor customer service

Poor customer service, no updates on orders, long order handling times, and you have to go through so many hoops to just be able to speak with anyone (if you can get them on the phone at all). Also, their online chatbot is less than helpful. I was in an over-hour-long chat session without a single reply. This is my first and last Bulova watch. I had faith in the company Buova, since it is owned by Citizen, and I own many Citizen watches and have always found their customer service to be quite helpful. Bulova definitely does not provide the level of service that Citizens does, or what a premium watch manufacturer should be giving their customers. I've been taken better care of with the purchase of a $100 G-Shock than I have with my $800 Mequina

Bulova Watch uses AI to distance itself…

Bulova Watch uses AI to distance itself from its customers. In addition, if you call them, you're on an extended hold with more AI that you can't get past. Their canned message offers an option to "Dial 2 for a Call Back" but, it doesn't work either. If you want to send your watch in for a basic repair they will Not provide any estimate Before you send it in for a 2 month absence! I've had my watch for 15+ years but, I'm Not jumping through their dis-service hoops! If a company is unwilling to provide After the Sale Service then I Don't Need Them! No More Bulovas in my family after this experience!

Had my Bulova for 8 months when the clasp stopped fastening. Was sent off for repair under warranty and they want £70 for a new clasp because they said it was damaged.
I didn't use for everyday wear and obviously this is a design fault if you can't fasten the clasp
AVIOD this make they don't honour their warranty

Misleading advertising

I purchased the bulova racer 42mm 98b428, a great looking watch but it has a dark brown perforated leather strap not a black perforated strap as described and shown on bulova's website and, on every other seller's website. I was told by the seller from whom I bought the watch, an authorised dealer, that the straps colour changes depending on what light it's under. I've tried looking at this watch and, in particular the strap, under all light conditions but, still. it looks dark brown. Very misleading advertising Bulova.
Update: I spoke Tommy J of Citizen Bulova Australia letting him know that their description of this watch online is false as the leather strap is dark brown not black. He claims it's black. So I guess I say to any prospective buyer's of this watch, BEWARE. The strap is dark brown not black.

Bought a Bulova Marine Star and within a few weeks of having it when trying to set the date the crown came completely out and now the time can't be set. Bulova won't honour the warranty as they says it's damage and charged me £250 to fix. Would never buy from them again and would advise people to avoid them like the plague.

Disappointed

I purchased a $600.00 Super Seville 6 months ago . The stem fell out yesterday. I took it to the retailer I purchased it from today and they said it wasn't covered under Bulovas warranty. I called Bulova and they confirmed it was not . I could buy a $30.00 Casio that would last longer. It was my 4th Bulova and my last. They lost a loyal customer.

This pricey automatic watch stopped functioning less than one year off warranty. I had to pay to send it to Bulova for an estimate and was informed the entire movement required replacement on an $850.00 watch less than a year off warranty?!?
No thanks.

WATER RESISTANCE IS #$@#, BEWARE

HAD MY BULOVA ALMOST 3 YRS. I GOT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WHEN I BOUGHT IT....FREE... IT SAYS ITS WATER RESISTANT. BS. I HAD TO REACH INTO OUR ROAD CULVERT TO REMOVE SOME DEBRIS. IT GOT WATER IN IT. SPINDLE RUSTED THE HANDS TOGETHER.I SENT IT TO BULOVA, THEY WANTED ALMOST THREE HUNDRED TO FIX IT. CITED NUMEROUS ITEMS. THEN THEY TELL ME
ITDS "NOT" "WATER" RESISTANT, ONLY AGAINST A LIGHT SPRINKLE OR PERSPIRATION. GOT THAT IN WRITING..
THEN THEY TELL THE STEM MUST HAVE BEEN PULLED OUT. ""'THE WATCH WILL NOT KEEP TIME LIKE THAT"'' SPOKE W VICTOR, HE TALKS IN CIRCLES AND ONLY WANTS TO CHARGE YOU AND BLAME YOU. ITS """ NEVER BULOVAS PROBLEM""". HE IS A YAMMERING USED CAR SALESMAN. HE ACTED LIKE THEY WERE DOING ME FAVOR BY LOWERING THE REPAIR AND NEVER ONCE ADDRESSED THE REAL ISSUES OR REASONS WHY OR HOW THIS HAPPENED. ONLY A LOT OF EXCUSES.
POS CUSTOMER REP. AND SERVICE
NO MORE BULOVA.
NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER.

My wife bought this curved Bulova watch. Beware!

My wife bought this curved profiled watch from Kay Jewlers. I accidentally dropped the watch and broke the crystal, I took it back to Kays and they charged me 195.00 dollars to get it fixed, which I paid. 3 months later I got a phone call from Kays saying that the repairs will cost 1000.00. I told them that's more than what my wife paid for the watch. They sent it back and now I have a broke watch that it cost more to repair than to replace.

Waste of a lot of money

Spent a lot of money on a diving watch. Wore it in 4 feet of water and it leaked and broke. They told me that I would have to pay to get it fixed - apparently this company does not stand behind its own product.
