I was an existing customer with exactly the same cover, but my premium had gone up considerably. I received an online quote more than $500 cheaper... with yourselves...but instead of simply honouring... See more

I am extremely disappointed with the service from Budget Direct Home insurance
I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Budget Direct.
I contacted them to discuss contents cover including lost or stolen items outside Australia and simply wanted an explanation as to why individual items needed to be listed rather than allowing a total insured amount. Instead of answering my question, the consultant repeatedly asked the same questions about how many items I had, their individual values, and even the karat value of gold items. It felt like talking to a robot rather than someone genuinely trying to help.
The process was unnecessarily tedious and time-consuming. I was placed on hold for a lengthy period, only for the consultant to return and tell me that the percentage wasn't sufficient and that they couldn't provide cover. When I asked why, he was unable to give a clear explanation and simply continued with the script instead of addressing my concerns.
Good customer service involves listening to customers and answering reasonable questions. Unfortunately, that did not happen in this case. The lack of communication, lengthy delays, and inability to provide clear explanations made for a very frustrating experience. Based on this interaction, I would not recommend Budget Direct.

Excellent Advice & Easy to Use Website
I received good advice. I have another MV policy for my wife's car with Budget Direct. The website was easy to use and navigate and the quote for my car was instant and better than my previous insurerer. Once I had entered all the information on the website it was processed and booked with ease. Communication back was excellent to confirm the insurance.
Budget direct would have to be the…
Budget direct would have to be the worst insurance company in Australia they are useless and incompetent they have no idea on what they are doing and do not care about there customers AVOID AT ALL COST
Terrible experience every time.
Terrible experience every time.
When my car broke down on the highway, I was left waiting on the phone for over 30 minutes and was transferred from one person to another with little urgency or assistance. I decided to give them a second chance, but the experience was even worse than the previous time when my car broke down in my driveway.
On that occasion, it took two days for them to arrange assistance, and I again spent 30–40 minutes on the phone trying to get help. The service is incredibly slow, and there seems to be very little concern for customers who are stranded and stressed.
I would not recommend this insurance company. Even if their premiums are cheaper, it is not worth the frustration and lack of support when you actually need assistance. I would rather pay more for an insurer that provides reliable service and responds promptly in an emergency.
Worst Insurance, Constant Delays and No Accountability
Worst insurance claim experience I have ever had.
My accident occurred on 9 March while travelling with my two children. Nearly 3 months later, I am still without my vehicle.
Throughout the claim, I experienced poor communication, constant delays, changing information, and repeated promises of callbacks that never happened. I was initially told my vehicle may be a total loss, then later advised it would be repaired. After major repairs, I was informed there were still mechanical issues and error codes, requiring further assessment by Nissan.
I was never clearly informed about all of my policy entitlements, including accommodation and transport assistance after the accident. I have had to repeatedly chase updates myself and have often received different answers depending on who I spoke to.
I still waiting for the call , payment, written reports, and a confirmed completion date for my vehicle. The Customer Service and the EDR Case Manager

Customer & Data THE WORST EVER!!
Being without a car for this long has caused significant hardship, stress, and additional expenses.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Budget Direct. The lack of communication, delays, and overall claims handling have been extremely disappointing.
Waist of time
I tried to get a quote for contents insurance, I have a good income and a good insurance history. I filled in the form for a quote and it came back saying they would not insure me and did not give a reason why.
Very good understanding of my problem
Very good understanding of my problem, though a little hard to find direct phone number. However, after getting thru, smooth sailing after that. Customer service 10/10 and what they promised actually happened. Nothing to complain about !!

Was thinking of changing from nrma to budget for a start it was dearer abd I read the reviews no thanks
An absolute disgrace!!
An absolute disgrace!!! Great price for first year then insane amount up afterwards. Hit a family members vehicle and they denied the claim as was from same household. So if you scraped your wives car accidentally coming out of the driveway, your denied insurance!!!! Insane.
Every year price goes up
Every year, it keeps going up in price never claimed never had an accident yet no rewards for this, the roadside assistance is a joke, so much fine print and terrible service, better off with the nrma.
Was easy to apply
Was easy to apply, iv been with budget direct previously and was very happy
It was quick and easy
Comprehensive with included roadside…
Comprehensive with included roadside assistance is trash. It isn't actually assistance because they don't hire mechanics, they pay tow trucks and even then they refuse to cover anything over 50km. I was 78km away and Budget direct wanted an additional $780. That's half the cost of my policy! It was a mistake to assume that this company can be trusted.

Budget Direct prides themselves to be the best value but they do charge extra for paying monthly.
Shannons Insurance dont.
Maybe if Budget Direct spent less money on television advertising, they could afford not to penalise customers financially for paying monthly. 🤔
