BT Whole Home Wi Fi

BT shop good. Product terrible. I ignored the recent reviews on line about poor connectivity and problems setting up the system, and bought a set of three units. The set up process is incredibly straight forward and the units registered when plugged in by wire to the router but could not connect to each other. I rebooted and reloaded and reset the systems several times. I also spent several hours working through the options. Not good, but it got worse. The App allows you to test the signal strength for the first unit as it was connected by wire to the router. The real clincher is that the signal strength of these units rapidly diminished with distance. I tried different orientations and a range of distances, all within line of sight, ranging from 1 metre to 8 metres. The signal strength was poor. In an older property I could understand the problems associated with thick walls, but I live in a modern property with thin walls. I returned the units. Don't waste you time on false promises

High and increasing costs

High and increasing costs, slow crappy connection for both phone and TV. Picture breaks up on HD Channels epsecially.

Also had no end of nuisance calls, they register your number with random business so that they think you are a client or a service provider. I think they do this so you pay extra for 'no nuisance calls'

Please, please avoid at all costs.

Totally unimpressed with BT Customer Service

Totally unimpressed with the BT ordering & installation service.

I placed my initial order (with difficulty due to multiple timeouts) last week. I confirmed installation date, received order confirm email etc. Following this confirmation, I booked a day off work, arranged to work the weekend, moved a number of my colleagues shifts and arranged other deliveries for that day so I could be available.

Luckily, I checked my order a couple of days later, and by chance noticed that my order had been cancelled. There was no notification made to me.

I spent 90mins on chat with fairly helpful staff, trying to place the order again. Another 2 timeouts. When I finally spoke to staff via phone, it took 40minutes to take my exact same order. I was then told that I couldn't have the same installation date, even after stating near the top of the call that this was essential.

The member of staff did do what he could to help but said unfortunately his system prevented him from meeting my requirements. As my issue has been completely caused by BT, I can't believe that the originally confirmed dates couldn't be met. I honestly think this is awful customer service.

Unskilled customer service doggy equipment and wrong product been sent by BT

I ordered BT broadband and BT TV. It’s arrived on time . I received sms from BT stating that the broadband is ready from 27th Oct, I came back from work and trailed, it didn’t work. I contacted customer service they told me that they will arrange an engineer but I have to pay if the fault in customer site. I asked them what happen if the faults in BT site? Will I get pay back? They told me that they can’t do anything, so I trailed it my self and found BT is sent a doggy filter and wrong setup top box.

Watch out who you talking to in customer service, they all are unskilled ppl, BT trained them to rip of the customers.
BT sent non recordable setup top box and doggy filter. I stayed with out broadband for a day and now I am waiting for the recordable setup top box. I am going to cancel BT once the contract is expired

False stock information

False stock information
They claim to have an item in stock but they don't, instead they put your order in queue without informing you so you end up waiting weeks and months despite having paid for delivery.

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM

Worst store in the world. They don't give information on stock so I bought my last pc part from there and was told it would come in 1-3 days and when it didn't come they said it would be there in a week so I waited and then they say it's out of stock. WORST STORE DO NOT BUY FROM THERE.

We were with BT for some 35 years or so …

We were with BT for some 35 years or so with a break for a couple of years with Orange. Had a few problems throughout the recent years but in fairness BT did resolve them usually to satisfaction. Last August we were moving house I had deliberately not taken a new Sky deal for TV etc as there was a penalty if we moved and so had opted to wait until the move had concluded and would move then. I had contacted BT in the November prior to the move as the price had suddenly hiked without warning and it proved to be the BT TV we had. Chap said he would keep the price the same for me. Great....until we moved and we are told we are tied in to an agreement and the penalty would be substantial if we changed provider ...£166 to be exact although they can't tell you until you move. I tried to find emails that they said they had sent, even contacted my email provider but could not find any trace of an email and certainly no mention was made by the operative chap at the time. Conveniently BT didn't have a recording of the conversation as it was over 6 months. I explained and complained that no agreement had been made and certainly no emails received. BT say because they have a record of email being sent then I received it. I suggested they might have a delivery receipt but no they didn't. Neil Mason at their complaints dept said he was an experienced trained claims person and he believed I was 'just trying to get out of paying a tie in fee'. This made me angry, very angry to be called a liar. Anyhow tried everything but his boss said the same. So I go to the ombudsman...the ombudsman said 'I have to assume as BT have provided copies of the emails, that you must have received them' well when the ombudsman sides with a corporation what chance does anyone have. I did not receive any emails and I certainly did not have any idea I was tied in. Along with many others I have been ripped off by BT and the arrogance of the complaints people is incredible. I suggest if you have to do business with this cowboy corporate you check everything you do very carefully. They will tie you in without you knowing and they don't even send you a copy of what you have done. Even if you do receive the email it does not state the tie in figure, you have to find that out yourself by trawling their terms and conditions. Stay well away if you can from this bully as the ombudsman is on their side too!

Beware- sell your debt on without advising you have a debt in the first place!

My partner and I had an account t wth them around 4/5 years ago, we moved out of the property fairly quickly. We redirected our mail to the new property and not once in the 5 months did we receive any form of contact in regards to the account being closed. We then moved to other side of the country and around one week ago received a letter from a debt collector saying we owe £210!!!!! Absolutely disgraceful. The letter stated BT have tried contacting you on serveral occasions... not once did the phone or email me and I still have the exact same contact details! Spoke to BT yesterday and they said they can't provide me with this information as the account is too old! Now I'm stuck with a black mark against my name because BT didn't even try to use alternative contact!

False terms and conditions and terrible customer service.

This company claims they will not charge you until the item is dispatched, which is completely untrue. I cancelled an order before it dispatched but was charged anyway, and only found out because I checked my bank statements - BT did not notify me of the charge at any point!
I sent various emails to customer service and was told they would be replied to in 16 working hours, which was also a lie. (It has now been 4 days, and I am still waiting!) Hence, I had to call them up as well, simply to claim a refund for a charge that should not have been made in the first place.

Dear Helena,

We find your claim unusual as it is our policy to cancel tickets issued on the US market within 24 hours of booking for free. If, however you contacted us later then such a free cancellation is not possible as airline imposed penalties apply. This makes such a late cancellation difficult and expensive.

We are happy to review your case for any possibile irregularity on our side. Please share your order number so that we may investigate without delay. We cannot locate your reservation without an Order number.

Thank you,

WiFi extender 1200

Very fast service. The extender was very easy to set up, but I think was intended for bigger properties than mine. I actually bought it to use in Spain where the WiFi signal is weaker so hopefully it will do the business there.
