Absolutely rubbish!

Absolutely rubbish!! took my son's bike in there to be repaired and ask them to relace the wheel, and change the Hub. I bought in a brand new wheel, and took the Old wheel to swap them over they said they could do it no problem. when they called me, they said they couldn't do it and that I should have counted the spokes myself, that is after they have already cut all the spokes out the brand new wheel. (surely there supposed to be the Professionals) when I questioned this they were very rude and put the phone down on me. They are not professionals I would never use again stay well away.

A true gem in Bicester

A true gem in Bicester – Broadribbs is everything a local business should be.
From the moment you step through the door, you’re welcomed with a warmth and professionalism that’s increasingly rare to find these days. The team at Broadribbs combines traditional values of honest service with genuine expertise and a deep understanding of their craft.
A special thank you to Fyn, who went above and beyond to offer helpful advice and outstanding customer care. His knowledge, patience, and attention to detail truly stood out and made the whole experience an absolute pleasure. It’s clear he takes real pride in his work and represents the Broadribbs ethos perfectly.
Whether you're visiting for advice, repairs, or simply browsing, the entire team is approachable, trustworthy, and always happy to help. There’s no pressure, just honest guidance and top-quality service.
Broadribbs has clearly earned its reputation through years of dedication to its customers and the local community. They’re more than just a business — they’re a trusted part of Bicester’s heart.
Thank you, Broadribbs (and thank you, Fyn), for setting the gold standard in customer service. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to anyone.

Was having issues with removing my crank set to replace bottom bracket, Fyn, new member of staff, very polite young lad was more than helpful, offered a quick removal using the “right tools” and even resolved the issue of my chainset repeatedly falling off, at the time the shop was busy with customers coming in for enquiries and Fyn showed a real level headed approach dealing with and managing the shop well whilst understaffed.
Great job!!

Outstanding service with excellent advice. I successfully purchased a bike from them via a cycle to work scheme… what a quick and painless experience it was. The guys in the shop know their stuff and offer genuine advice over trying to push for sales. Best bike shop in the area and would definitely recommend to others.

Missing parts in the original order and the replacement order. No sense of urgency to put things right.

I ordered a bike for my son and it arrived pretty promptly, but without the brake levers and callipers. Broadribb blamed Frog and advised they would be in touch to arrange delivery of the missing components. I would have thought this could have been arranged from their own stock which Frog could then have replenished in their own time, but ok, I can accept that. However when the missing components finally arrived, they too were missing components - I now have two brake levers, one brake calliper and one brake cable (with no cable housing), so I am missing one calliper, one cable and two cable housings.

When you deal with bike shops you normally have the reassuring feeling that they know so much more about bikes than you. In this case I have this unpleasant dawning realisation that my meagre knowledge of bikes might exceed theirs. As my wife summarised it just now, it feels like they have never actually sold a bike before. A half assembled bicycle is still in my living room, now for the third week, while I wait yet again for another package to arrive. I haven't even bothered mentioning that the handlebar tape they included wasn't actually handlebar tape, but was just (unpadded) electrical tape, and have ordered my own. This is not the 'new bike' experience that my son and I were hoping for.

Appalling service.

Appalling service.

1. I visited the shop 3 weeks ago, the door was open so walked in and started looking at the bikes, wearing a mask. The chap behind the counter bellowed at me “excuse me, you have to leave the shop and wait to be invited in”. The door was open, why would I not enter? No signs on the windows saying I couldn’t enter. I left thoroughly annoyed and embarrassed.

2. I went back to the shop today with my wife, stood outside for 20 minutes and waited to be invited in. The sign on the door now states one person at a time, all seems fine. We walked in and said we wanted to look at their bikes as we wish to upgrade my wife’s bike. The assistant then tells us they are not open for us to look at their bikes.....I couldn’t believe it, if they are not open to people looking at their bikes then put that on a sign too....a complete waste of my time.

To cap it all off, my poor customer experience is driven by the effects of Covid which nobody can help, yet on both visits not one of the staff were wearing masks....even today when it’s a legal requirement!

Shoddy.

A great family outfit with super customer service. We have bought 5 bikes from them now and would buy another 5 if we needed them.

Their physical shop sells stuff at the same prices as their online shop of 'Discount Cycles' so we just keep going back.
