Britstops Reviews 

We have stayed at some fantastic pubs and carparks, it's hard to believe that they are free (Other than having a meal or drinks). The only criticism or advice is to check ahead that the venue still exists.

Overall I still find value being with Britstops and will keep renewing my subscription. But unfortunately I feel that Britstops has lost its way from its roots as they now allow a very large number of host that insist on payment either by the enforcement of a meal or as I have discovered by direct payment and even occasionally both. It simply isn't Britstops. Many of the host are freely available on search for sites and park for night without subscription. The other problem is that they are very slow to update host details. It's no fun having driven to a venue that list not required only to be turned away by an angry owner who keep informing that they are no longer hosting but Britstops does not respond. so overall what is my verdict, will I keep renewing Yes. Would I recommend No. My message to Britstops is keep it as it was or lose it.

We booked 2stops on way to and from Cornwall in July to break the journey, it’s easy to book the stops by a quick phone call and we have always found peaceful places to stop have a meal and sleep before continuing the journey it totally made our holiday; the weather was the only problem on the way back home so we cancelled the stop off because we had our dogs with us and it was too hot so we drove it home on one day which was such a long day so a Britstop is the perfect solution if your not in 31C ! 🥵

Easy to use to find great stops with wide range of the country. I've rarely been disappointed, and made some good new friends.

It was very easy and convenient to find a pitch with BritStop. The people were nice and the food or beer was delicious! Gladly again when we are travelling in GB!

We love using Britstops! I tell people about it and feel that pubs with space big enough are missing a trick! We’ve had some great experiences and leave a review on places we stay!

I have used Britstops on numerous occasions and have been very impressed how good the recommended pubs are.
Britstops give an excellent description of parking, facilities available and location.
Haven’t stayed anywhere yet that we have been disappointed with.

Brit stops is amazing. I have been with them for a long time. In fact since the beginning. Safe places. Beautiful places. Lovely eateries. I can work out an entire 2 weeks road trip with Brit stops. I’d rather pay money to the community and the locals than a campsite. That’s just me. Each to their own.

I recommend this App very much.

When I joined Brit stop I was very impressed. The few I have used are very good. However I have recommended pubs to be approached to join, and heard nothing, and they are still not on the database. One pub I used I have tried to return to, are no longer members and now charge their own fees. Others I have approached are not members any more, but these are all still listed as active. Therefore the total membership of pubs on the database is not a true reflection, and indeed around Chichester there are very few still actively accepting us, despite what the app says.

Britstops is an excellent resource for travelling around the UK, whether you are advance planning or on a spontaneous wander.
Descriptions and directions are very accurate and the review section gives you more recent information so you can decide if the host location is right for you.
The hosts we have stayed at have all been very welcoming.

Came over from NZ ,found Brit stops awesome.
Always had a drink and meal at pub,met the locals that gave us great spots to see without all the visitors.
Totally recommend and will hopefully come back one day and do it again.

The concept is a excellent idea and at first it was great. I would always go in for a pint but over the last 2 years Landlords have started to insist I book a meal to stay overnight. Given the prices for a drink and a meal, might as well use a campsite. This was not the idea, so not sure I will renew or recommend.

One of the biggest cons going. I'm new to all this, but I can read. How can you charge for information then deny responsibility for it. I would not recommend paying for this site, most of the info is out of date. I travelled all the way to Amble Braid. In the app it said no need to book up, just turn up and park. This is not the case, all spots had been pre booked and all the other parking places in Northumberland were the same. We ended up turning round and going home. I was in a motor home, cost a small fortune.

We have used Britstops on numerous occasions and found the hosts to be excellent. We even used them in Ireland on the Wild Atlantic Way.

We used a Britstop recently at Stratford on Avon.
It was our first time and we didn’t know quite what to expect. We stayed in a field which was an extension of the pub car park. The staff were really friendly and all in all it was a great experience.

The concept of Brit Stops is immensely freeing for me, to regularly enjoy a night or two at pubs not too far from home.
The ones that I have used so far have required my van to be self sufficient, whilst just asking patronage to the pub and allowing the use of facilities whilst they are open. So far, one has had EHU for £10. Some require pre booking, some don't. Numbers for overnighting are generally limited to 3. I would recommend pre booking as some pubs are very busy at weekends.
I definitely recommend joining Brit Stops if you enjoy this freedom

We've just had our first week away in the UK using britstops and it was a great hassle free week going from one location to the next in our converted van. Every host was very welcoming at all the locations we chose and we never paid for parking up the whole week. We loved the freedom of being able to choose where and when we were going to travel. The app is so easy to use and I would highly recommend joining britstops
