Company in deep trouble. ordered books are not posted at all
"BritBooks appears to have ceased operations or is facing serious problems. The official website (britbooks.de) is currently unavailable, and numerous customers are reporting delayed deliveries and a lack of communication."
My parcel had a tracking number and was supposedly "ready for delivery" twice - after a fortnight! In the end I found out that it had not even been posted (generating a ticket does not mean it is on its way!).
I fear this company is in deep trouble and Amazon - as usual - doesn't care and keeps listing its goods.
Beware! If you want to see your money again, use an appropriate payment method - or don't order from Britbooks at all. The website is already down.
Don’t go near them!
Never used before and will definitely not again. I Paid for a book and have chased delivery twice via email (they don’t answer the phone!) & have not had a response. Disgusting service and I should have known as the would not accept PayPal- Complete Con!! Don’t touch them
Strange and very dissapointing
I often order used books from Abebooks UK. I live in France. It's a great site. Today, for the first time, a package came from Brit Books and the postoffice worker asked me for 10€. I refused and sent the package back. I've ordered surely over 50 used books from different sellers on Abebooks, and this is the first time I've been asked for extra money. I will avoid them in the future. Now to try and be refunded ... (update) that circus continues. I hope Abebooks bans them.
Not received
Ordered through Biblio. Book not received. AVOID at all costs.
Warning, do not buy - possible scam
Very poor. In my opinion this is either some sort of scam or a "bookjacking" operation who just sell you books on demand that they have bought cheaper elsewhere online - google the phrase for how this scam works. Ordered a book which never came after a number of weeks. Their support repeatedly refused to admit whether they had actually sent the book or not on direct questioning. They supplied a false tracking number almost immediately which did nothing. The only positive was that they did eventually refund the order (although I never asked them to - I would have preferred them to send the book I had paid for), but of course I would expect them to. If I had left it past the limit to claim a refund, they would have kept my money for nothing. Seeing the multiple other similar experiences here, I regret ever dealing with them. You have been warned - do not buy.
Poor service and communication
Ordered via Abe Books on 18 December with an expected date of 24 Dec. No sign on 24 December. Allowed for Christmas and emailed them on 30 December as Royal Mail still didn't have it in their system. Reasonably, I asked them whether they still had it. Instead of answering directly and personally, they simply copied the text from the Royal Mail tracking info saying that they now had it. I have an update from Royal Mail saying they are delivering today.
Reading other reviews I am lucky to be receiving it at all!
EDIT : damaged package arrived with only one of the 3 books. Think they rammed them in and the package split en route. I have emailed them.
Item not received
Ordered a book via Amazon market place. Item not received. No tracked delivery information recorded on Amazon. On contacting seller via Amazon was that a tracked delivery has occurred, but book still not delivered to my address. Still waiting more than 6 weeks later. So a very disappointing experience. Would not order from Britbooks again.
I dealt with Brit books through Ebay…
I dealt with Brit books through Ebay and my entire experience means I will avoid them in the future.
They advertise books as in very good condition and then they arrive in poor condition.
I contacted them with photographic evidence and I received one reply the entire time offering me 50% off if I wanted to keep the damaged poor item.
I re-contacted them several times repeating myself, asking them to please replace the book.
I was never replied to.
In the end, I made the decision not to pursue this anymore and call it a loss.
As it was stressful.
A dishonest company who quite frankly needs to be taken down.
Extremely poor
I ordered and paid for a book. The order was cancelled by the seller and I was assured a refund. No refund materialised and I am now told I have not been charged but I have. The seller seems to be uncontactable through Amazon.
No Books, No Response
I ordered a whole series of books from this seller via AbeBooks and it never arrived. They sent me a fake Royal Mail tracking number and refused to respond to my attempts to contact them to request a refund.
Fake CD via Amazon
I ordered via Amazon (from third party seller Brit_Books) an audio CD described as 'used, import' but when it arrived it was apparent was a fake illegal copy: b&w photocopy paper insert and CD was a fake with label applied. Basically the most obvious of fake illegal copies!
Brit books are a scam
My daughter ordered a book and it’s already been used. There is writing in the book and all the activities have been completed. We ordered and paid for a brand new book and we’ve received a second hand completely used book. Shame on you
I ordered books though Amazon but it…
I ordered books though Amazon but it was Britbook who supplied them they were advertised as Very good condition should have been very bad condition.
All the books I have received though Amazon from other companies have been great all in very good condition just make sure when you order the supplier is not BRITBOOK
If I could give no stars I would
If I could give no stars I would. I ordered a book Amazon that was sold via this company. The book arrived on time HOWEVER not at all how they described. It was supposed to be in very good condition. The book is dirty, the bottom of that pages are heavily stained, corners are folded and mangled. Avoid this company.
I cannot fault them
The book arrived on time. The condition was very good and the price was cheap. I cannot fault them. When I read the experiences of others I was expecting the worst but I have to say that on my experience I have nothing to criticise them for
Like all of Ihezie's dubious business…
Like all of Ihezie's dubious business ventures Brit Books really seem as though they couldn't care less about their customers. Orders placed can take days before anything being dispatched. A very lackadaisical approach to commerce and I avoid his "companies" like the plague.
First time customer, fast service and delivery!
I came across this company due to trying to find a rare book I was looking for. When I saw the product was being offered here for less than half the price as Amazon in 'Used-Very Good' condition decided to take the plunge. At first I must admit was worried after reading some of these reviews and with no confirmation email but only a few days after ordering I recieved my book in the condition advertised. Wouldn't hesitate personally to use again.
Do not buy from BritBooks!
I really do wish that I had read the reviews before ordering via Amazon. It arrived when stated but in no way is it in the described Very Good Condition. Torn in 3 places and clumsily sellotaped.
I have contacted customer services but don't hold out much hope looking at other reviews!
