Excellent service helping with turbo
I had the wrong cassette on a turbo I bought second hand and asked Brick Lane Bikes if they could help me remove it as I didn't have a long enough wrench. I brought in the turbo and they were absolutely brilliant. Not only did they remove the cassette, they explained what they were doing so I could do it myself next time and they replaced the old cassette with the new one I'd bought. I'll definitely be going back for any other bike related issues.
We had a reoccurring flat tire on one…
We had a reoccurring flat tire on one of our two bikes and we were out riding in the East End. We must have walked for two miles looking for a bike repair shop. Brick Lane Bikes was an oasis of bike repair, enthusiasm for bikes and kindness. They especially liked our his and hers trek bikes from 1994. Vintage rules.
Good service
Always nice to me, I've heard mixed reviews about them but I can't say that I've experienced anything other than a 5 star service the few times ive been in.
Ordered midday delivered 8am the next
My first order from BLB, they had a fairly obscure part I wanted a 24 tooth screw on rear sprocket which I ordered around midday and it dropped onto my doorstep at 8am the next day, a good product and service.
Fast delivery I order the bike Monday…
Fast delivery I order the bike Monday morning and arrives second day at 10AM. The quality of the e-bike is impressive for 500 pounds. I think this company should have a better review star points but happy people most of the time don't leave any reviews, only the people unhappy for differnt reason leave review for sure.
Quality varies a lot
I have several parts and tools from BLB. Some are good and some seem to be bulk chinese stuff.
Like BLB Superior freewheel. It has chinese brands logo stamped on it. Works fine but propably cheaper in ebay or ali.
And their "workshop quality" tool had very cheap feeling and lacks durability.
Last time I also orderer another brands pedals from them. Bearings were stuck. They offered me several time consuming options. Later I opened them myself and they were rusty! It takes maybe 5 seconds to test them before shipping but they were too busy. I'm too busy to ship them back (need to leave work early) or take them to bikeshop (need to leave work early). Bu their 5 secons is more valuable. Also they are not interested about my complaints any more.
So I'll never buy anything from them ever again.
Brick lane bikes used my credit card…
Brick lane bikes used my credit card details to create recurring payments and tried to charge me £6000. The credit card company stopped this fraudulent transaction. Draw your conclusions if you should use this company.
Ordered online and then had a call asking for more money!
Ordered a saddle bag online being advertised as a special offer. Order went through Sunday night. Had a phone call from them on Monday, saying they couldn't understand why I got that price and asking I pay extra or cancel the order, claiming they wouldn't make any money - all for £5 extra. Appreciate this may be the case, but the fault was theirs and they should have honoured the price. Never had this from a shop before. Didn't want them to have my custom with this poor customer service - and they've certainly lost me as a future customer. Very odd way to run a business but it appears customer service isn't their strong point from other reviews.
No replies to warranty issue
Purchased an electric bike from their shop which had issues with the battery. They stopped replying to my emails regards a replacement battery despite initially saying they had some on order.
The money has been debited…..and that’s all.
I placed an order last weekend with Brick Lane Bikes for an item for my husband. The money has been debited from the bank account. No confirmation of the order has been provided. No replies have been provided to my queries via their chat line.
Brilliant service
Brilliant service.
Does what it says on the tin.
Got my bike fixed. Didn’t get ripped off. What a relief to find a shop like this. Would 100% recommend.
Great, quick service
I needed an issue with my gears fixed and they resolved it in a day. Great service and cannot fault.
Perfect service
Perfect service! I took my bike in yesterday and was assisted by Jim who was SO HELPFUL and kind and tweaked a few things that I didn't even knew were wrong and the whole process was really affordable and fair and I couldn't recommend Jim or the shop more highly x
Friendly Customer Service!
Made a purchase, canceled it afterwards via email (quick reaction, couple of minutes). Made a second purchase a couple of hours later, they double checked and contacted me if I really made the purchase, since I canceled before. Friendly guy on the phone, friendly people via email. Shipping was from the Netherlands to Germany so it took some days, as they also told me before - 10/10 would and probably will use their shop again.
thieves
stole £150 from us
they sold my step dad a giftcard for £150 and are refusing to honor it because they "changed systems"

Reply from Brick Lane Bikes
heat-seeking missle
Not the worst but not the best
On recommendation from a friend, I bought a bike from them. I know they’re busy but the bike I bought had misaligned brake pads and a brake cable so long that it’s unsightly and rubs against the front wheel. Great bikes but definitely need to work on their customer service. They’re not terrible but I would go elsewhere in the future. For the same price, I think I’d get better customer service and more attention to detail without having to travel across London.
10 out of 20 Service!!!!!!
I am so suprised by the feedback here because I am not only a current customer but a previous one from when I was 18. I am 28 now and the service I received is still as great as I did back then. I contacted the shop as I signed up to the cycle 2 work scheme with my job and they kindly past me over to the web team who are in charge of this. I had sent over an order for my bike, parts and helmet. The amazing Andrea contacted me the next day to inform me that due to a miscalculation the bike was not in stock however after some brainstorming me and him came to a final solution which in fact was better than what I ordered. (Ordered a steel frame ended up with an amazing aluminium one). Once the order was finalised he took my number as well as email to keep me updated on the build and got me to send over exact measurements and gear ratios. This was done on the 25th. About 2 days later I had an email from Andrea letting me know all the parts had been collected and would be on there way to the shop the next day for building. I'm quite particular about my bike so I had a last minute request to change the bars from risers to drops. Andrea said this was no problem and said if I need anything else let him know. On the 28th he confirmed the parts would be at the shop ready for building. I then sent an email on the 1st to see how things where going and I received an email with my bike completely built down to the exact spec I asked for!!!!! They did not short out on anything and the attention to detail was 10/10! Even hooked me up with better drop bars and a T-shirt!!
He also confirmed that it would be getting shipped on the 2nd!!!! By mid day on the 2nd I had a confirmation email from FedEx for next day delivery before 6pm!!!!! It is the 3rd today and I am writing this after having one of the most amazing rides on an absolutely quality BLB viper!!! I can't thank Andrea, the web team and the shop staff enough for all there help and I would strongly recommend that whoever is considering going to there shop, please ignore these negative comments because they are truly a one of a kind bike shop in the heart of East London!!!
P.S . The fact that I live in Manchester and still received the same level of customer service if not better, as I did when I lived in London say it all about the shop!!
Thanks again!!
Tried buying a custom frame from them
Tried buying a custom frame from them, when discussing details they stopped replying on two occasions so I gave up.
Not surprised reading these comments
AVOID AT ALL COST
I bought some bike components from the over a month ago. So far no sign of the items and no response to any of my many email. Just a big scam!
