"Loyalty means nothing to @bookingcom. Locked out of my Genius Level 3 account for 31 days by a 2FA bug. Phone support hangs up, DMs are ignored, and unknown phone numbers were suddenly added to my profile. A masterclass in bad service. #bookingcom #badservice"

Avoid using Booking.com at all costs

Avoid using Booking.com at all costs. They are a deliberately unhelpful, unfair and fraudulent organisation. My customer experience with them has been abysmal and I will never use them again. I booked flights to Oman via Booking.com and they were cancelled by the airline. I called Booking.com to arrange a refund and they informed me that I needed to contact the airline rather than them in order to arrange this. After multiple attempts contacting both parties I ended up receiving a partial refund by mistake. Again I contacted both parties to try to resolve this and the airline provided the remaining refund to Booking.com however Booking.com have still not transferred this to me over a month later. Booking.com are deliberately withholding the refund without contacting me which amounts to unfair business practice and fraudulent activity.

Scam

I’ve been using this app since 2018, but it has turned into a complete scam.

In my most recent booking, one price was shown, but I was charged a higher amount at payment. Even after providing a screenshot from the payment page as proof, they refused to refund the difference. In the same booking, they also charged the initial amount incorrectly, and despite clearly stating that the city tax was included in the price, they later demanded an additional €55.

As a Genius Level 3 member, I was entitled to a free taxi. However, when I tried to book it using the provided option (which was included in my reservation), it suddenly became paid. Customer support claimed this feature only works within 24 hours before check-in, but even though I contacted them earlier, their system wouldn’t allow me to book it without payment. On top of that, the support line disconnected on me multiple times.

In total, for a booking of around €500, they charged me nearly €150 extra due to their “system limitations” and internal issues, without any proper communication.

This is a terrible service and completely unacceptable behavior, especially considering I have screenshots proving everything.

Bad app!Got logged out in the middle of purchase. The same happened at the second attempt.I was sent to payment before I could correct and complete my name. Now I had to pay to complete my name on Norwegian but SAS made it for free.I checked to bring a suitcase-but it wasn´t on the ticket. Now I had to pay a lot extra to bring the suitcase.Customerservice was NOT a good experience. Not answering questions correct, talking about refunds but it wasn´t about that at all Took half an hour both times to get a good answer even though I decided to write in English as they seemed to not understand the English translation from Swedish.Cost me over 150 Euro because their shitty app.Their app on Ipad dosen´t work either but everything else works perfect on my quite new Ipad. Not using that corporation again.

I booked a 2 bedroom apartment for one…

I booked a 2 bedroom apartment for one night in Wellington for 25 April, a sold out sporting event.
The money was debited from our account the month prior and no contact was made by booking.vom or the property prior to the check in date except for promotional emails asking me to consider additional activities while I was in town.
On the day I received 2 off messages from the property overall indications they didn't have a room for us. I called the property and left messages and text, no response. I called booking.com was hung up on after 30 minutes on hold, I called again got through to a person who tried the property and then insisted I had to wait 45 minutes to check the property wasn't able to take us.
I said this was not acceptable and given the time it had taken me to get through I may as well call back when I hang up and asked for her to call me back, I never heard from her
At 9.30pm that night, 6 hours later ingot an email confirming the property couldn't take me and they had sourced alternative accommodation 5km.away and a refund would take 12 business days.
No phone call no app notification and 6 hours after check in time
I have attempted to lodge a complaint through booking.com and the complaints page continues to generate an error message
The accommodation we sourced ourselves said this whole experience is a common occurrence of booking.com so am closing my log ins down from.them

Unacceptable Limitation Resulting in Overcharged Taxes

I booked accommodation for myself and two guests through Booking.com. My guests stayed for 12 nights, while I stayed for 19 nights. In many countries this wouldn’t be an issue, but in Mauritius, taxes are charged per guest per night. As a result, I am now facing a tax bill that is higher than it should be.

Unfortunately, Booking.com does not allow either the customer or the host to adjust this critical information once the booking is made. I contacted them multiple times before my stay ended and was assured they had reached out to the host to confirm the correct details. However, the host later confirmed that they had received no communication at all.

When I called customer service, I was told there is nothing they can do within their system to reflect the different lengths of stay for each guest. This is extremely disappointing, especially for such a significant issue.

I have been using Booking.com for nearly two years. While I would have rated them one star for this experience, I have received helpful support in other situations.

The message I received — “Changing the dates of your stay isn’t possible” — is simply not good enough. It is unacceptable that they cannot even add a note to the booking to clarify the actual stay details. This would at least allow local authorities to correctly assess the number of nights for each guest.

Overall, this reflects a serious limitation in their system that needs urgent attention.

Really Evil Netherlands Business

The Staff at this company are some of the most rude and horrible towards me.

I found an error in what they had done and they refuse to give me my Money Back.
They have kept me looping with emails repeating their questions again and again with no hope of ever getting my money back. It is a very viscous and intentional harassment of people and a reflection on Netherlands Culture to have such a Business.

The situation is so depressing I have begun to feel incredibly ill. These sorts of people in the world make me feel suicidal.

Unprofessional FAKE Company

I registered my property as a home owner with them a couple of months ago and got one booking for one night before they suspended my listing. They did not even bother to check with me to get more clarification about the house. They thought it was a fake listing. My house was for sale last year and the listing was not even active in the market. I tried to call them more than 10 times to explain it but I have no luck until now 29/4/2026. I have not got any resolution. Not only that, I have not been paid even I have hosted one guest. How did it happen, this is fraud, the guest should not be able to check in in my property. This is the scam, they refuse to pay after over 2 months waiting now. Where should I take this further. I want a justification of my case. I have all the proof I am the owner of this property, I pay my rates/tax, and all under my name and current. This business is a joke, I would not recommend anyone to list their property with them. THIS IS A JOKE! Not professional and I have been ping pong like a ball. BE VERY WARY with this booking.com

Issues and no customer service

Absolutely no customer service, like talking to bushes or some lonely trees. Don't know where they outsourced customer service but that it's awful. The systems have issues from time to time, booking don't go through, charging the bank account and blocking the whole amount for more then 10 days. On top they send you an email saying that they can re-book for you, you click rebook to confirm, charge you again, and the error might still persist. So if possible to find the same hotel or service on another platform, it might be better not to take the risk of using booking.com.

Do not use Booking.com, you won't be covered for mis-sold holidays

Do not use Booking.com if you want the holiday advertised or your money back when things go wrong. We paid thousands to travel to France, only to find they had misled us in the advertising of the property! It was not all to ourselves as advertised. It was shared with many others and they were very canny with the photos and description. Missed out on telling us the stairs to the bedrooms were down the path and outside. Would not have booked this property had we known, as we have kids.

Came home after 36hrs and was told we'd get a refund. That was nearly a year ago. Save your money, don't book with mis-sellers like Booking.com who try to pass the blame to owners as they act as a 'third party'

Customer service is poor. Wrong information provided

Customer service is poor. I have been provided with misinformation by the support customer services and have been going around in circles for 10 days now to resolve the issue. I have tried online messages as well as calling on multiple occasions, with no resolution. The customer service team are polite but some must need more training as i have a written message from one of them telling me to do something, which i did. Only to find out i should not have done so and it has caused a problem. Speaking to multiple staff it seems it cannot be resolved, which disappoints me and i will be moving away from booking.com to another booking service

Small print for the non-refundable…

Small print for the non-refundable reservation. I needed to only change it by a week and no one, not the hotel nor Booking.com would help. Called and talked with both live people and they were simply GFY attitude. Never will use booking.com again nor the Days Inn by Wyndham Dawson Creek. They are simply about profit and not helping. Both businesses suck!

I will never use them again

I will never use them again. I booked a holiday last year in July 2025. My flight wasn't until November 2025. End of September I feel ill. Hospital & Doctors told me I couldn't fly such a long journey. I let booking.com know & sent them over my Doctors certificate. I was told I'd receive my refund beginning of November. I've been asked several times to upload my medical certificate which I've done. I've been promised my refund will be processed. It never is. I'm then told my case is being escalated to a higher team and someone will call me back in 48hrs. I'm told thus each time I call them. I never receive a call back or an update. Nearly 7months on I'm still waiting. I've put in 4 complaints none of which have received a response. I should be focusing on my health & recovery instead I'm stressed having to chase this!!
