Simple to reserve a ferry
It was simple to make a reservation and communication was also helpful and prompt.
Bookaway : to be avoided at any cost
Bookaway is not a reliable platform.
My booking which was formally confirmed on their platform with a booking reference, and paid, has been rejected by the end service provider (ferry company).
So I was obliged to paid a second time directly to the ferry company for my trip back and forth.
Bokeway has found all excuses to state that it wasnt their fault and have refused to refund me, even with the proof of the second ticket.
So use other ways to book your tickets.
Bookaway = Runaway !!!
Bookaway is not even a booking company.
It is only a platform to collect money, no reliable to secure transactions and confirmation of the purchased services, and rejecting any liability for problem occuring with the final service providers.
I will never ever use Bookaway, and will ensure proper warning on all media where bookaway is mentioned.

Do not use Bookaway for rail travel
I booked a railway ticket on Monday for travel on Thursday. They sent me a message that the ticket was confirmed and I just wait until the ticket was sent to me.
On Wednesday I started contacting bookaway and they told me everything was ok.
By 10 o'clock on the day of the train I still had nothing so had to go to the train station and buy the ticket myself.
This caused me a lot of stress and worry because I have a tight schedule
Fake Bookings on Bookaway
Booked an 11am coach ticket at 9am on the same day.
arrived 40 minutes early and was told that the company Bookaway do not work with them. we had a numbered ticket with seats allocated.
It turns out the coach did not excist. Today I hear we will not get refund because we should have whatsapped the company to confirm the booking. The point is that there was no coach so confirming or not NO COACH.
Told this happens every day , we rebooked with the office that we had confirmation with.

First ferry got cancelled and was told at 10pm. The boat was leaving at 7am so had to rush in the morning to get another ticket with a different company which ended up costing me more money.

I’d like to share my experience regarding the transfer service.
Unfortunately, the transfer from Cancun Airport to Tulum did not go as planned. The driver did not show up, and I was unable to reach anyone at the time.
If I had been given direct contact details for the support team or the driver, I believe the issue could have potentially been resolved on the spot. However, without that information, we had no choice but to arrange a new transfer ourselves, and we lost around 3 hours at the airport.
That said, I would like to highlight the support team at Bookaway. Once I got in touch with them, they handled the situation quickly, professionally, and with understanding. They took the issue seriously and promised to arranged a full refund.
Overall, while the transfer experience itself was disappointing, I am very satisfied with the customer support team for their responsiveness and effort to resolve the situation.
Customer service is useless and scam like
Customer service is useless, I asked them to provide a pick up location for the shuttle because mine didn’t exist with what they provided. They kept avoiding the question by asking other things and information which I already did and kept providing, I just needed a simple location but it didn’t exist. When I contacted the company with the bus they said bookaway had my itinerary and they didn’t have it so I neeeded to retrieve it. Bookaway again was no help. And I ran out of time after contacting for 12 hours, every hour on the hour.
My friend who booked a separate bus also had a similar experience. In the end neither of us got them and paid for alternative transportation that was easy and reliable booked direct through the provider company.

Sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe sh*t
Sometimes okay, but they lack accountability when the operator they book through fails to provide a good service. The ratings of operators are also misleading as there’s no way to rate them through Bookaway. I booked a sleeper bus through an operator rated 4.6 stars, and it showed up over an hour late and the bus was full so some people had to share a bed. When I checked the reviews on trustpilot, it was rated 1 star, so I don’t know where the 4.6 star figure came from.

UPDATE: Still no response from Bookaway regarding our group booking BW4767884. They are publicly replying to other travelers with excuses while ignoring the fact that their 1.5-hour delay caused a 2,800 EUR loss for 10 people. We are proceeding with the bank dispute as the company refuses to take responsibility for their logistical failure.

Book directly through bus operators, not bookaway
I had a very poor experience booking a bus journey from Luxor to Hurghada.
After completing my booking, I only received a confirmation email but no actual ticket. When I contacted Bookaway for support, I was met with an automated AI response and was unable to reach a real customer service representative.
As my departure date was approaching, I contacted the bus operator directly (both through their online support and in person at their office) to confirm my booking. They informed me that there was no bus scheduled at the date and time I had booked through Bookaway.
As a result, I did not receive the service I paid for. I have since been trying to obtain a refund from Bookaway, but without success.

Everything from initial booking to receiving confirmation and tickets for downloading was very straightforward and clearly shown.

Unconfirmed Booking Until Departure — Completely Unreliable
Bookaway did not confirm my trip until the departure time had already arrived.
This suggests serious issues with their communication system with local providers.
Despite telling me “we’re treating this with priority” and that they were in contact with the operator, there was no actual progress. It felt misleading.
More frustratingly, they did not respond to my follow-up inquiries in a timely manner. Only the next day did they finally reply, saying that the operator was unable to confirm the booking in time.
Overall, the lack of communication and delayed response made this a very unreliable and stressful experience.
Absolutely terrible service
Absolutely terrible service, they sent me a small receipt saying I had a booking(no tickets) my friend and myself turned up 30 mins before our ferry to find out they had no record of our booking and that the ferry was full. We managed to get a later ferry, different company and 50% more expensive. When I asked for a refund they asked for the info I received I showed their small conformation e-mail and my receipt from my bank payment which I showed. I then asked them to contact the ferry company themselves to sort out my grievance and to why the had no record from bookaway on their system. They got back to me looking for the info I had already provided and subsequently deleted and asking for ferry tickets we bought then gave to the crew when getting on to the other ferry. It is their error not mine, it's only $30 but it's the principal. Spoiled the first day of our break and plenty of stress then this mob want me to jump through hoops to get my money back. They should contact the ferry and sort it out between them. I'm the innocent party so an apology and a refund should be the minimum. Ticket Kampot Port > Kho Rong Sanloem
