Never realised that you could claim a part Stamp duty refund for an annex. Although just being returned your own money, without Bolton Reed we would have remained none the wiser.

Bolton Reed contacted us on a few occasions to advise we may be eligible to a Stamp Duty refund, we ignored the first couple but then decided to give it a go.
Great desicion, application was sent off on August 1st, money was in our bank today.
I have seen people say this can be done without 3rd party involvement but I wouldn't even have been aware that this was a thing without Bolton Reed making contact and the process was very straight forward.

We are absolutely thrilled with the service from Bolton Reed. We moved into a property with an Annexe in July last year, and we had received numerous letters about the stamp duty refund which we read through but Bolton Reed's letter felt the most legitimate, and fees were reasonable compared to others so we thought we would give it a go. Mark was great to deal with, he was very informative and friendly. I did not feel pushed into anything and he gave me confidence in his success rate.

He can add another one to that success counting - we received a refund of just over £11,000!!! If you are doubting doing this, don't! It was a very easy process, Bolton Reed does everything for you and we waiting 4 weeks and got a big chunk of money! Highly recommend!

We were unaware that we could claim Stamp Duty back for our annexe until Bolton Reed contacted us. We were cautious to begin with but we looked into the company and rang HMRC to see if such a claim was valid, it was confirmed by them. Mark at Bolton Reed dealt with our claim professionally and efficiently and we had very little to do. Their fee we think was modest.Very satisfied and grateful to them for bringing this to our attention.

Don't bother wasting your time giving these guys a portion of your money. HMRC will gladly help with this simple process for free. It just took me 1 phone call and 1 email to the stamp duty department and I got my full payment of Multiple Dwellings Relief for having an annexe refunded without having to pay a fee to chancers like these guys.
I did not use their services as HMRC were more than willing to help for free. They will provide any guidance needed. They note that my purchase was in 2019 when it was in fact 2018. Just goes to show the level of competency. This service can be provided for free from HMRC.

Mark from Bolton Reed wrote to me to advise me of an over payment in stamp duty to HMRC made by my conveyancer. After signing 2 simple forms returned postage paid for permission to act on my behalf, I promptly received my refund payment directly from HMRC. Bolton Reed will send you a fancy letters over and over again offering to claim back your overpaid Stamp Duty Land Tax but all you need to do is phone HMRC, get advice from them and send them a quick email to get the tax back. I reclaimed thousands and it was really really easy.
