Scammers
Scammers! They automatically renewed my membership f If I wanted to renew for another month, I would have done it myself from beginning — there’s no reason for it to happen automatically.
I called immediately after noticing the charge, but they said they couldn’t stop it in their system. I called again once the money had been taken from my account, and when I spoke to another agent, she refused to issue a refund.
I explained that I have the legal right to withdraw within 14 days, yet she insisted that I called after one day — which is still well within the 14-day withdrawal period. Despite this, she refused to cooperate or process a refund.
Very poor customer service — and they can clearly see that I haven’t even used the account.
UPDATE THEY REPLIED BELOW
First you can see easily that I canceled immediately when I received the notification of the renewal exactly 25 Hours.
They said I used the service , another lie , I did not use the website at all , but was forced to keep the account open so they can take the money .

All our paid access as seeker is subscription based. You can of course prefer that it were different, but we are not able to offer you a single purchase up front - this requires that you cancel your subscription before the renewal takes place.
I can see that you signed up for our service, for the first 24 hours, on October 1st, did not cancel within these 24 hours and then contacted us on October 8th with a request for a refund that was not granded.
As stated when you sign up, you actively accept that by using the services, you waiver your right to withdrawal, based on any activity from the initial sign up. This right does not "reappear" for any renewal of the subscription, but even so you did use the service in the current period - counted from October 2nd although we were not able to withdraw the money for this period until yesterday,
Update:
1) Exactly, cancelling when you are notified of the renewal and failed payment attempt 25 hours after the signup is by definition too late, since you need to cancel before the renewal takes place = within the 24 hours. To treat all equally, we follow the defined deadline for all, because this is the information visible to you, rather than setting individual "allowance" of how many minutes, hours or days after the renewal should actually count as "too late" (which all are).
2) I will send you an e-mail with your full activity log, showing that you did use the profile and therefore cannot claim the right to withdrawal.

I just looked up your profile and saw that after signing up on Wednesday for our introductory offer of 24 hours limited access before the first full 28-days period, you have not tried to cancel the subscription but instead actively continued to contact new landlords.
Please review the sugnup process again, clearly stating that after the first 24 hours our standard subscription automatically continues, unless you cancel the subscription within those first 24 hours. Had you done so, your access and inbox had also automatically closed, meaning that you would be unable to continue any dialogues or contact new landlords through your profile.
You cancelled the subscription late Friday night, meaning that you still have full access to continue your search until the current period expires on November 20th.

Urgent Complaint – Disturbing Landlord Behaviour (Herlev)
I'am writing to report serious harassment and unsafe living conditions in my rental in Herlev. The landlord has been extremely confrontational and conflict-driven, fueled by alcoholism, has made the environment intolerable and unsafe. He has sent me hundreds of disturbing messages, invaded my privacy, and created a hostile atmosphere that forced me to leave the house several times.
Although I was supposed to stay until the end of October, the atmosphere in the house became so heavy and stressful that I had no choice but to move out earlier, this situation caused significant emotional distress. I have been living peacefully in another place since October 1st.

Good platform, but subscription prices are too high
I appreciate the service and how easy it is to find available rentals, but the subscription price is quite steep. For many users, especially in an already expensive Danish housing market, it feels disproportionate to the actual time and access needed.

Be careful this platform feels like a scam
I had a really bad experience with BoligPortal. They charged my card twice, and when I tried to reach out to landlords, most of them didn’t exist or never replied. I paid 400 DKK for access, but it felt completely useless because so many of the listings seem fake or inactive. The whole platform feels full of scams and unverified ads, and customer support didn’t help at all.
I wouldn’t recommend anyone to waste their money here, it’s frustrating and disappointing.

Thank you for registering as seeker on our platform. You did so four days ago, and it is quite normal that the landlords may not reply to you within that time, so there is nothing strange in your current statistics of contacting six ads and getting one reply.
I do understand, however, that as soon as you send your application, you hope for a quick and positive reply. But the situation for cheaper apartments in Copenhagen is that the demand is a lot higher than the offer, and therefore landlords often start contacting five-ten candidates whom they see as best match for the apartment and invite them to see the place. Meanwhile the rest of the candidates are waiting for either a second round or, once the ad is marked as let out, a notice regarding this.
Regarding your subscription, you signed up for our subscription starting with 24 hours limited access continuing as 28 days full (normal) access afterwards, unless you cancel the subscription within the first 24 hours. This - as weil as the deadline for canceliation - is stated in the confirmation sent by e-mail right after the initial payment.

No landlord replies, waste of money
I have subscribed twice with the intention of renting an apartment in Copenhagen. Unfortunately, I have been very disappointed. Even though there is a large selection of listings and they are supposed to be “secure,” none of the landlords replied to my messages. I wrote to more than 100 landlords and did not receive a single answer. You end up paying for the subscription without any real result, since there is no communication or responsibility from the landlords’ side.

I understand your frustration. The rental market in Copenhagen is highly saturated at the moment, this is unfortunately not only the case for the listings on BoligPortal.
The landlords get a lot of applications really fast and often start out by contacting a handful or two of the candidates they best see fit as potential tenants based on the profile and initial applications. If one of these candidates accepts the agreement, the landlords marks the ad as let out and you will as minimum get a standard rejection with an optional personal message.
I know it is frustrating not to get personal replies and offers for viewings back on your applications, but unfortunately this is the market dynamics currently with the demand much higher than the availability of vacancies.

The experience was worse
The experience was worse. The website does not provide a competitive market warning to newcomers looking to find apartments (180 tenants in 4 days, with only 2-3 tenants contacted). Some of the landlords (in the Copenhagen area) are so cunning that they showed the apartments on video and I immediately claimed that I wanted to rent them, but they did not choose me. I suppose my case here was a backup. This is something that the website cannot prevent.

The renal market in Copenhagen is currently very saturated with high demand compared to the available offer - not only on BoligPortal but generally - and especially now with many new students searching for small, cheaper accommodation.
It doesn't make sense for landlords to invite large groups of candidates for a showing in a small apartment, where they hardly fit. At the end of the day, their task is to find the shortest way to the right tenant, for which reason they often start by reaching out to a handful of candidates, whom they can see as potential tenants based on their profile and initial application sent. It is not only a question of contacting or "claiming" an apartment first - the landlord has the right to choose who they see best fit on criteria such as expected time of stay, securance of payment, personality, demography and references from former landlords etc.

I recommend that you read the reply from my colleague from yesterday again and pay attention to the screenshots documenting the information provided when you signed up for the subscription, including the part where you actively accept our payment policy. Nothing happens without your consent.
No scam - and no force. You can cancel the subscription at any time without being tied to further payments, but being an ongoing subscription it does require you to cancel when you no longer want to use our service.
For this reason, we include the date and time of first renewal in the e-mail sent to you right after you signed up to the subscription.

Not a tenant-friendly system
Finding apartments in Copenhagen is already hard enough. The portal works OK but:
1) I find it nonsense that TENANTS have to pay the websites and not landlords, who are those who gain from the process of posting an ad and renting out.
2) I think ads without photos should not be accepted (dare I say also without floorplan, but I won't go that far) it's a giant waste of time for searchers.
3) No information about the identity of the landlord is given, not even if it is a company. (Or it's very hard to find, because I never found it). Is it a private person or a company? Is it a company that I have already talked to? No idea who am I interacting with.

1) Seekers can sign up to our platform, create search agents, mark favorites and contact landlords with ads marked as "free contact" for free. But for the remaining ads, you need a paid subscription, which along with full access to all ads also gives you a personal search profile that the landlords can use for proactive search and as "curriculum" as tenant. The landlords can advertise for free, but they can also purchase highlighted presentation or pay for you to be able to contact them for free.
2) We always recommend the landlords to present their vacancies the best way possible - through images, floorplan, text and data - to get the best match with potential tenants from the start and avoid answering questions like "can you please share photos or floorplan". But we prioritize volume of offers over mandatory requirements and must also accept that the landlords not always have the requested material for all vacancies, much less if the former tenant is still living in the flat.
3) One of the principal benefits of the landlords, besides reaching relevant seekers through the filters, is to maintain their anonymity for the vast majority and only share contact info with potential tenants. That way theyu can focus on a certain vacancy until they have a signed contract - and move on - rather than having to reply to new messages regarding an offer already taken by someone else.
We validate all landlords and their vacancies, which is your ensurance that the person behind the ad has a legitimate claim to offer the vacancy. On the ads, you can see how long the landlords has been advertising and how many rentables they have posted on our site, which should be a good indication of the company size and history or if it is a private (sub)renter.

The best portal with verified landlords - no scammers. I like how the platform also allows streamlined contract-signing process. Subscription scam tactic
I bought a 24-hour access for a specfic apartment I was looking into. It stated "if you unsubscribe within the 24-hour period, then your access will be locked"
So I figured that this wasn't an automated subscription. I was wrong, they charge you after the 24 hours have passed. If I want to use it for 24 hours I can't unsubscribe, but if I don't, they charge me for a month. I spoke to their CCRO, she replied with rude comments, even though I tried my best to be kind and understanding. She had no interest in resolving the issue.
Would not recommend this company to anyone in Denmark.

I confirm our conversation and agree that we don't see eye to eye in this matter. I stick to our firm belief that every customer should receive equal access for the same amount and comply with the same terms regarding their choices and timing for registering and cancelling their subscription.
The paid access for seekers is subscription-based, which way explain throughout the sign-up process. You can cancel the subscription at any time during the current period without loosing your access and without "binding" for any further periods. However, you must cancel before the stated deadline if you do not want to continue the subscription.
If you cancel within the 24 hours intro period, the inbox will be closed once this period expires, meaning that you cannot continue your conversations or access any replies from the landlords without resigning the subscription.
We do not intend to mislead our customers. I do understand your frustration misinterpreting the conditions in the sign up process, and I apologize of you found me argumentative beyond reasonable explanation. However, we do aim to treat everyone equal in terms of documentation and timing, for which reason we have declined your request for a refund.

To start with your last phrase, well yes: Why have rules if they don't apply equally to all?
We don't mean to be so harsh about it, though, and I am sorry if you read our replies as such.
Generally, we aim to reply individually in a personal tone - and at the same time treat everyone equally by following the same terms and policies that require your acceptance when you register on our site and sign up to the subscription.
We find it most fair to all that we grant everyone equal access by sticking to the timestamps for registration, renewal and cancellation visible to you as well as us on your profile.
Regardless of the time you paid for, some people will forget to cancel in time. Our difference of opinion seems to be whether this is responsibility of the company or the consumers - as consumer and representative of this company, I will always opt for the latter (and despite working with subscription models, I know all about forgetting to cancel my own subscriptions in time).
Update: I am happy that we agree :) and as mentioned above, I know the feeling of paying more than intended.
