Purchased an EV car from Big motoring…

Purchased an EV car from Big motoring world with 3 months warranty. The warranty is worthless as none of the approved repairers work on EV vehicles . For the last month Big motoring world and the warranty company keep passing us between the both of them with no one accepting ownership of the issue . Dragging the issue out until the 3 months expires. Big motoring world staff Lucy will not pass us on to any manager who can help because they are all having a nice weekend although there customers are left with faulty vehicles . Not the place to buy a reliable car from and expect support if there is a problem.

Absolute disgrace of a motor sales…

Absolute disgrace of a motor sales showroom. They wanted name. Email address and phone number before you could even go to look at the cars. There was no way I was going to do that and get phone calls after I had been there, so we were refused entry. Receptionist was rude. I have bought cars from Mercedes and Land Rover and have never had to do this.

Hi Benjamin,

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We’re sorry to hear about the issues your daughter-in-law has experienced with her vehicle and, in particular, the concerns raised regarding the brakes and track rod ends.

We take any issues relating to vehicle safety seriously and appreciate how concerning it must be to have these matters identified so soon after purchase, particularly when you feel they have not yet been resolved by our After Sales Team.

We understand that you have now raised the matter with the relevant external organisations and are awaiting their responses. As the matter is being considered through those channels, we would not want to comment publicly on the specific circumstances or make assumptions about the findings.

We’re sorry that the experience has left you feeling so dissatisfied. Your feedback regarding the aftersales process and the handling of the concerns will be shared with the relevant team.

**BEWARE** Read before visiting

**BEWARE**
We arrived at 9.45am on 20th Aug 26 after putting a deposit down on a car. James was our salesperson and everything was good as he showed us the car had a test drive etc. Then we got to the paperwork and the figures and things went downhill. (We had previously visited on 16th Aug26 and a different salesperson had explained that there was a leeway of £2k when P/E your old car which we understood as they cover that as that is how it was explained it after we questioned it. The other thing he told us was you could not have 2 car loans at time in one name which proved to be incorrect)
Back to James when we discussed the P/E the £2k leeway meant that this is added to the new car which inflates the payments to an extra £100 approx. We discussed warranty which was overpriced and we decided we could do without it. At this point James attitude towards us changed and he challenged us regarding the warranty and became pushy asking us to reconsider. We didnt so this was the point were he lost interest in us. He completed the sale and told us the car would be ready for 1.30pm after having a full valet and assured us the stains on the upholstery etc would be removed.
Amy then took over and assisted us completing the finance forms and was very helpful. She issued us with a form and we were instructed to go to the post office to get the V5 as they did not have it. She also assured us on our return to sign in and ask for her on return from the post office. We arrived back from the post office at 2.30pm and signed in and asked for Amy. We waited and could see Amy in her office. I went over to the office and asked to speak with her and was informed they would let her know. 20 mins had gone and still no one attended us I went back to the signing in desk and complained as we were waiting for a £25 refund and did not know if the car was ready .I was then informed Emily in collections would be dealing with us and would be 10 mins. After 10 mins still no one attended us we spoke with a manager who went to talk to Emily and was told we had a 2 minute wait. 5 minutes later Emily saw us and went through the collection process and said the car still was not ready (3.15pm) at 3.25pm we were shown the car and the valet we were promised had only been done to the outer vehicle the inside interior had not been done. They were still the stains on the upholstery amd crumbs etc.
At this point we needed to go as we had urgent things to do, so we mentioned thst we were disgusted with the customer service and would not ever purchase a car from them. To be honest they are not bothered and do not take customer feedback seriously. However, lesson learnt ALWAYS read the reviews before visiting a showroom as people write them to help others.
NOT EVERY ONE IS A KEYBOARD WASTER!!
I REALLY HOPE MY REVIEW HELPS OTHERS AND THE CAR HAS NO PROBLEMS LIKE SOME PEOPLE HAVE EXPERIENCED!!
I WILL UPDATE IF IT DOES.

Hi Mandi,

Thank you for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback. We are genuinely sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate you outlining the different issues you encountered throughout your visit.

While we are pleased to hear that Amy was helpful with the finance paperwork, we recognise that the overall experience fell well short of the standard we expect. In particular, we understand your frustration regarding the part-exchange figures, the discussions around the warranty, the conflicting information you received, and the considerable delays after returning from the Post Office.

We are also disappointed to hear that the vehicle was not ready when you were told it would be and that the interior valet had not been completed to the standard promised. We fully appreciate how frustrating this would have been, particularly after spending much of the day at the dealership.

We take your comments regarding customer service and communication seriously and would like the opportunity to investigate what happened with the individuals involved. Please contact our customer service team with your vehicle registration or purchase details so we can review your experience and address the concerns you have raised.

We are sorry that we have left you feeling that your custom and feedback were not valued. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.

Found the car I wanted

Found the car I wanted , had a test drive , paid a deposit and went to collect 3 days later . There was a lot of confusion over the valuation, balance and RAC warranty to the point where I nearly asked for my deposit back as I felt under so much pressure , but the manager eventually offered a deal I was happy with. I did have to ask several times for a puncture repair kit as it was missing , there were no mats either .Faiaz in handover was very friendly and helpful, and apologised because it took so long to get the sale sorted , not that it was in any way his fault . He very efficiently sorted paperwork and taxed my car . It had 8 months MOT left on it but not serviced which I hadn’t realised till I arrived home . I queried it and was told that the 200 point check they do takes the place of a service , I checked with Nissan and have booked a service with them because of the manufacturer warranty , just something to be aware of

Hi Lesley,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

We’re pleased to hear that you found the car you wanted and that Faiaz was friendly, helpful and efficient during the handover, particularly in getting the paperwork completed and the vehicle taxed for you.

That said, we’re sorry to hear about the confusion surrounding the valuation, balance and RAC warranty, and that you felt under pressure during the process. We also apologise that you had to ask several times for the puncture repair kit and that the vehicle was supplied without mats.

We appreciate your comments regarding the servicing of the vehicle and understand why this was something you wanted clarification on, particularly in relation to the manufacturer’s warranty. We’re sorry if this was not made clear to you at the point of purchase.

Your feedback is important to us, and we will ensure your comments are shared with the relevant teams so that we can review the areas you have highlighted and improve the customer experience going forward.

We hope you continue to enjoy your new vehicle, and thank you again for your feedback.

Very Disappointing Experience at Big Motoring World Enfield – Think Twice Before Buying

UPDATE – 24 AUGUST 2026, 10:10 AM

Following my previous review, I want to add an important update regarding my experience with Big Motoring World Enfield.

Today, 24 August 2026, after formally notifying Big Motoring World of my intention to reject the Nissan Qashqai due to the brake issue, I received a further response directly from a Senior Manager.

Their response confirms in writing that Big Motoring World will not assist with the vehicle repairs and will not accept the rejection of the vehicle. They have also stated that a “Final Response” has been issued on behalf of the company and that my complaint is now closed.

I find this particularly concerning because, rather than helping to establish the exact cause and extent of the problem, I have had to continue investigating the vehicle myself.

I am now arranging an independent inspection and written technical report from Nissan, including measurements and the condition of the brake components, so that the actual condition of the vehicle and the extent of the problem can be properly documented.

This is after reporting the issue shortly after purchasing the vehicle and already paying for a brake inspection myself.

My experience so far is that once you have bought the car, if a problem appears, you are essentially left to deal with it yourself. You have to spend your own time and money investigating and proving what is wrong, while the seller simply refuses the rejection and closes the complaint.

I will keep all correspondence, reports, photographs and evidence. Once I have the independent technical report from Nissan, I will continue with the appropriate escalation of my complaint through the relevant independent dispute resolution process.

Update made on 24/08/2026 at 10:10 AM.

1 star – Very disappointing experience at Enfield and after-sales support

I purchased a Nissan Qashqai e-POWER N-Connecta from Big Motoring World in Enfield on 6 August 2026.

Unfortunately, only a few days after purchasing the vehicle, it developed an intermittent squeaking/grinding noise from the brakes. I reported the issue almost immediately and opened a complaint with Big Assist under reference 811338.

I was asked to have the vehicle inspected by Halfords. Halfords confirmed that the front brakes were noisy (squealing) and identified the front brake pads and fitting kit as requiring attention.

Despite this, Big Motoring World have refused to assist, relying on the fact that the brakes were recorded as an “advisory”. I have also requested to reject the vehicle, but this has been refused.

What I find particularly disappointing is that I have effectively been told that I have bought a used car and that this is simply something I should accept.

I would also like to mention , who handled my complaint and issued the final response, , who was involved in the earlier handling of the matter. I have tried to cooperate throughout the process, but I feel my concerns have not been properly addressed.

I also requested cancellation of the additional warranty/cover I purchased with the vehicle. This request was made clearly to , but it was not even addressed in final complaint response.

My advice to anyone considering buying from Big Motoring World would be to take particular care when purchasing from the Enfield branch and carefully check exactly what additional warranty/cover you are being offered and what it actually provides.

I have previously bought vehicles from other Big Motoring World locations and have not experienced problems like this, so my criticism is specifically based on my experience with this purchase and the way this particular case has been handled.

I am now arranging a full independent inspection at a Nissan dealership so that Nissan can establish and document exactly what condition the vehicle is in and identify any faults or defects.

Once I have the Nissan report, I will be taking the matter to The Motor Ombudsman and, if necessary, considering further legal action.

This review is based on my actual experience and the written documentation relating to my complaint.

Complaint reference: 811338

Based on my experience with this particular purchase and the after-sales handling, I would not currently recommend buying a vehicle from the Enfield branch.

Hi Francisco,

Thank you for providing such a detailed update. We’re sorry to hear that you remain dissatisfied with your experience following the purchase of your Nissan Qashqai e-POWER.

We understand how frustrating it must be to have reported a brake concern shortly after purchase, arrange an inspection as requested and still feel that your concerns have not been resolved. We also appreciate that you are particularly concerned about the safety implications of the brake issue and the costs and effort involved in obtaining further independent evidence.

As you have confirmed that you have received a Final Response and intend to pursue the matter through the relevant independent dispute resolution process, we would not want to comment publicly on the specifics of the complaint or the legal position. We will, of course, engage with any appropriate formal process and provide the relevant information as required.

We’re also sorry that your request regarding the additional warranty/cover was not addressed in the response you received. We appreciate why you would expect all elements of your complaint to be acknowledged and dealt with.

We note that you have previously purchased vehicles from other Big Motoring World locations and that your concerns relate specifically to this purchase and your experience with the Enfield branch. We’re sorry that this particular experience has left you feeling unable to recommend the branch.

Your feedback regarding the handling of the complaint, communication and after-sales support has been noted and will be shared with the relevant management team.

They lied on their part exchange…

They lied on their part exchange valuation. They said my car was worth £25640 in showroom condition. It was IN a show room two weeks ago. It is in PERFECT condition. After I schlepped all the way over to the Wimbledon branch I was 1st offered £22000 after the salesman had fed the details into Webuyanycar.com then once someone had actually deigned to look at the car they came back with £23,500.
The car is faultless and you're a bunch of con artists. Their salesman's hapless excuse? "Everyone does it". Well I know not to bother with Big Motoring World any more. Strap line? "We're only as dishonest as everyone else". Great

Hi Richard,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the part-exchange valuation provided for your vehicle, particularly after travelling to our Wimbledon branch.

We understand your frustration that the initial valuation you had been given did not match the figure offered when you attended the branch, and that this left you feeling that the valuation process was inconsistent and unfair. We also appreciate that the comments made during your visit contributed further to your dissatisfaction.

Part-exchange valuations can be subject to a physical assessment of the vehicle and other factors, but we recognise that any difference between an initial indication and the final valuation should be clearly explained to the customer. We are sorry that this was not your experience.

We take the comments you have made regarding the conduct and communication of our team seriously and will ensure your feedback is shared with the relevant management team for review.

We are disappointed that your experience has left you feeling that you would not use Big Motoring World again. Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention.

Poor handling of customers

Dear Big Motoring World After Sales Team,

After completing all the required checks and sending my findings to the After Sales Team as requested, I have received little to no response. More importantly, the severity of the issues I reported—particularly the condition of the brakes—does not appear to have been taken seriously.

The condition of the brakes is extremely concerning, and failing to address a serious safety issue such as this promptly is unacceptable. A vehicle’s braking system directly affects the safety of the driver, passengers and other road users, so I am extremely disappointed that this matter has been allowed to continue for so long.

It has now been almost six months since I purchased the car. On the day of collection, I raised several issues with the vehicle and was assured that they would be resolved promptly. Unfortunately, many of these issues remain outstanding despite my repeatedly chasing the After Sales Team for updates.

I feel that my concerns have been repeatedly overlooked, and this has left me without the vehicle I paid for in the condition I was promised. I am therefore asking for this matter to be treated as a priority and for the outstanding issues, particularly the brake-related safety concerns, to be resolved as soon as possible.

I would appreciate a clear response outlining what action will be taken and when I can expect these issues to be fully resolved.

I hope this can be dealt with promptly and satisfactorily so that I can safely enjoy the vehicle I paid for.

Hi Ikenna,

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We’re very sorry to hear about the difficulties you’ve experienced with your vehicle and, in particular, the delays and lack of communication you describe from our After Sales Team.

We take any concerns relating to vehicle safety, especially braking systems, extremely seriously. We understand how frustrating it must be to have raised these issues at the time of collection, completed the checks requested and provided the relevant information, only to feel that your concerns have not been dealt with promptly.

We’re also sorry that several issues remain outstanding almost six months after your purchase. This is clearly not the level of aftersales support we want our customers to receive, and we appreciate that repeated chasing without clear updates would be extremely disappointing.

We would like to ensure your case is reviewed by the appropriate management team, particularly given the safety concerns you have raised. Please provide your vehicle registration and relevant case details so that we can locate your records and investigate what has happened.

We apologise for the frustration caused and hope we can address the outstanding matters as quickly and appropriately as possible.

What an odd experience

This place is hilarious — it’s like walking into a low-budget soft-porn set, except instead of anything remotely exciting, there are naff leather sofas, ageing iMacs pretending to be something they’re not, and salesmen sitting behind a see-through wall, laughing and chatting on their phones.

We walked in wanting to look at the cars in the lot because, frankly, we didn’t even know what car we wanted yet. A perfectly reasonable approach, you’d think.

Apparently not.

Before we were allowed anywhere near an actual car, the “salesman” sat us down and launched into a detailed explanation of PCP and HP finance. We hadn’t looked at a car. We hadn’t chosen a car. We barely knew what we were doing there. Yet somehow we were already discussing how we were going to pay for the mystery vehicle we hadn’t even seen. It was like being asked how you’re going to finance dinner before you’ve looked at the menu.

Then came the next masterpiece: we were shown the exact same website we’d already looked at before arriving, with the salesman helpfully reading the information on the screen out loud to us. Because apparently our ability to read had also been put through the finance approval process.

Eventually, they brought a car out for us to look at. As we walked towards it, we were once again asked how we intended to pay for it.

I genuinely thought I’d wandered onto the set of a sitcom.

We finally got to the car and, while we were looking around it, the salesman stood in the corner watching us. Not helping. Not answering questions. Just… observing. Like a security guard at an art gallery waiting for someone to steal a Picasso.

We then asked if we could simply walk around the lot and look at the other cars. After another impressive amount of waffle from the “salesman”, he eventually agreed.

This is possibly the most backwards way I’ve ever seen anyone attempt to sell a car.

Let people into the lot. Let them look around. If something catches their eye, they’ll ask questions. It’s really not complicated.

And while you’re at it, maybe replace the soft-porn furniture in reception. The combination of shiny leather sofas, see-through walls and men laughing on their phones is… quite the first impression.

I'd probably avoid this place - I don't hold much hope the cars are inspected like they say anyway. All the old lease cars end up here and they're pretty battered.

Hi Christopher,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry that your visit left you with such a negative impression.

We understand that, when you’re still deciding what type of car you want, you may simply want to browse the available vehicles before discussing finance or purchase options. We appreciate that being taken through finance information before you had even chosen a car could have felt overly sales-focused and frustrating.

Your comments about the way you were shown around, the interaction with the salesperson and your experience while viewing the vehicle have also been noted. Our aim is to make the buying process informative and comfortable, rather than making customers feel pressured.

We’re also disappointed to hear that the presentation of our showroom contributed to your overall impression. We’ll share your feedback with the relevant management team.

We appreciate your candid comments and are sorry we weren’t able to provide the relaxed and straightforward experience you were looking for.

Hi Steve,

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re very sorry to hear how frustrated and disappointed you’ve been, particularly after paying for additional cover and then struggling to get a response when you needed assistance.

We appreciate how frustrating it must have been to be passed from one contact number to another, only to be given an email address because the number provided was not working, and then receive no response to your email. That is certainly not the level of communication or support we want our customers to experience.

We understand that having cover in place gives you an expectation that, should an issue arise, there will be a straightforward process for getting help. We’re sorry that this has not been your experience.
