Avoid Totally Unprofessional
I contacted Better Move to sell my property and got an offer (with over £100k drop of my initial suggested price) soon afterwards, wanted a quick sale I eventually agreed to their offer, however, to my shock, the second day after I have doc-signed the agreement to sell the property to Better Move at the agreed price, the guy called to say that there should be a further drop of £60k+ of our doc-signed agreed sales price!!! It was a total shock and extremely unprofessional and got me trapped as I am very worried and scared that Better Move may use my doc-signed document to take my property from me!!!

We communicated this promptly to ensure complete transparency and manage expectations from the outset.
You were under no obligation to accept a revised offer, and there was never any situation in which you could lose your property to us. We’re pleased we have since been able to discuss this with you and provide reassurance.

A waste of 30 days
I had heard these quick sale agents were best avoided as they tended to be underhand but wanting a quick sale in a slow market I rang around and BetterMove promised they were not like that and allayed my fears. They gave me a low price which I accepted based on the fact they said they had already done some groundwork and had interested investors already. As such I could expect a sale within 7 - 14 days. I was then moved to an account executive to supposedly handle my case. She seemed inert so I spoke to the sales manager who told me the low price was too high and I needed to reduce it. I did. Despite me chasing them up in the hope of getting what was promised by the marketing people I got no word whatever except an acknowledgement I wouldn't be renewing the contract after I emailed them to cancel per the requirements. In a nutshell the marketing people lied, the account executive couldn't be less interested, only the sales manager seemed to appear to make an effort. Sadly the rumors are true after all.

They want it on a silver plate.
I enquired about a cash payment for my retirement property 2 weeks ago and got 3 replies from different operatives.
Finally one replied with there option 2 scheme which was to reduce my selling price by 19K from 2 local estate agents estimation.
Then finding a buyer for me at an unguaranteed reduced price.
Going by other reviews they cancel appointments or not turn up.
They have no idea about my flat, the complex or the local area being 280 miles away.
Why should I employ an ignorant estate agent above my recognised local one? I simply reduce mine and keep good faith and knowledge.

Misleading
After getting in touch with better move regarding selling my wife's property. We decided to go with them exclusively as after many chats with someone whose first name I am not allowed to mention on this platform, we were told that we could realistically sell our house for £80000 within 2 to 4 weeks. We looked at reviews here on Trust Pilot and after having those phone calls with said person, we decided to go with Better Move... Unfortunately our details were passed to another department. Withing 2 days of signing to sell our property exclusively with Better move our new "Case Manager", whose name I have had to redact because of pressure from Trust pilot, got in touch to say he can only market the property at £72000, and he will not go any higher.... Complete waste of our time.... They just want you to sign up with them exclusively so your hands are tied. They advertise they have a huge buyer network but we believe that we have been misled into signing with them exclusively. Looking to report this to the Property Ombudsman. Again must reiterate that less than 2 days after signing with them the person in charge of marketing our property, he was not prepared to put our property forward to their so called huge buyer network unless we agreed to reduce the price by £8000. I would seriously think twice before signing with this company. Also, my wife wasn't happy with how he fobbed her off and was quite rude.*Update to your reply.... Why was the house valued so highly in the first instance... This valuation must have been based on something... So YES I still believe this is a plot to get vulnerable people to sign with you then reduce the value of the property and in turn increase your profit... I stand by my review.

Once a property is signed up with Bettermove, it is passed to an Account Manager who carries out a Quality Control call. The purpose of this call is to check the information we have been given, make sure the seller fully understands our involvement and the proposed route to sale, and ensure that the property and pricing are suitable for our buyer network. If anything comes to light during this process, we discuss it with the seller.
Unfortunately, following this review, it became apparent that there was less demand for the property at £80,000 than had initially been anticipated. We felt we would be doing you a disservice by marketing the property to our buyer network at a price we did not believe was realistically achievable, so we contacted you and explained that we believed £72,000 was a more appropriate marketing price.
We appreciate that you did not agree with that assessment. However, we do not accept the suggestion that this was a tactic to secure an exclusive agreement and then reduce the price.
As you point out in your own review, **we raised this with you within two days of signing the agreement**. If our intention had been to mislead you into signing at £80,000 simply to tie you into an exclusive agreement, it would make very little sense for us to raise the issue ourselves within 48 hours.
Importantly, you have not suffered any financial loss as a result, nor have weeks of your time been wasted. Quite the opposite: our Quality Control process identified the issue almost immediately and we were upfront with you about it. Had we simply proceeded at £80,000 despite believing the price was unlikely to generate sufficient buyer interest, *that* could genuinely have wasted your time.
We therefore struggle to understand how identifying a potential issue within 48 hours, being transparent about it and giving you an honest assessment of the price amounts to misleading you. The purpose of Quality Control is precisely to catch issues early rather than allow a seller to spend weeks pursuing a strategy we no longer believe is likely to succeed.
We are also sorry to hear that your wife felt the conversation with her Account Manager was rude or dismissive. That is not the experience we want any customer to have, and we will review the call internally.
We completely understand that you may disagree with our revised assessment of the property, but we believe raising it with you immediately was the responsible and transparent thing to do.
