Very easy to book, straightforward changing facilities no hassle. No money for lockers so had to keep clothes with a friend who wasn’t swimming. friendly staff and nice coffee

Brilliant visit!
Visited here for the first time with 5 kids yesterday - ages 5 to 15. It was busy but not overly so. Changing cubicles were small but clean. Fine for me and my 5 year old! A guy was regularly going around the changing room floors with a big Karcher machine. Lots to do - 2 slides, waves every half hour, sprays, mini slide, large warmer pool with bubbles along a seated edge, lazy river etc. Easily spent 2 hours and kids wanted to stay longer. Lots of very attentive life guards on duty. No problems at all

Lovely family pool.
Lovely, large, family swimming pool. Lots of exciting equipment for the children. Quite clean and well maintained (apart from some lockers needing fixing). Plenty of changing rooms and lockers available. Food was as you'd expect, little bit pricey for what it is but keeps the kids fed!

Avoid Better / GLL – Cancelled in Time, Confirmed Cancellation, Yet No Refund
I booked a family swimming pool session with Better (GLL) and cancelled more than 24 hours before the session—as per their refund policy. I received instant confirmation on their website stating that my booking had been cancelled and a credit note was applied.
However, despite the confirmation, Better has refused to acknowledge my cancellation, denied any record of it, and still failed to refund me. My follow-up emails—including escalation letters with evidence—were completely ignored.
This situation is not only extremely frustrating but clearly misleading. Better’s claims about their own records contradict their system-generated confirmation, and their customer service has failed to address the issue fairly. I have now escalated this to both Trading Standards and the Consumer Ombudsman.
I’m posting this so others can be warned: if something goes wrong, Better may just walk away without resolution. I urge caution before booking anything with this company.

Kids love coming swimming here! Pools and slides are great fun and give them plenty to do! We sat in cafe staff very helpful and friendly and we enjoyed our coffee and snacks - thank you for a v enjoyable visit.

Great experience. Not sure what all the bad press is about…
Created an account & booked online easily. Staff were friendly on arrival. Coffee in cafe good. Slides & waves good for kids. Place was clean. Not sure what all the bad press is about this place brings back memories as a child & my children are making theirs & it would be a great shame for Bedford to lose it. It is a shame the outdoor section no longer exists. Didn’t eat but food looked ok & menu basic but good enough.

We were very disappointed with our visit.
The general cleanliness was extremely poor, rubbish such as crisp packets and plastic bottles were left by the pool side and floors were dirty.
Hair and grime were present on the top of the drains in the changing areas.
Sand was in the pool making it not a pleasant environment to be in.
We attended the under 5 session, we were not informed that half of the facilities would be closed and we would only have access to limited areas.
Additionally there was a draft that made the poolside feel very cold.

Fantastic time had by our granddaughter, pool and all areas spotlessly clean, friendly staff.the waves and slides great fub. It is a travesty that the council have made the decision to close this now excellent and much loved facility for children. Shame on them!
