Bad communication & unnecessary delays... wouldn't bother to use this company again!!
We moved into our house in 2016 and the sellers told us the drive had been installed in 2010 and had been cleaned and re sealed in 2013. After a few years we thought about have a clean and reseal but was put off by the company’s payment policy. We have lost money before with another company so we are a bit nervous and anxious about paying deposits with no start dates. We have also had unknown people trying to set up accounts in our names so we tend to be very careful. We understand your position when you also don’t get paid for work done. We decided in 2024 to have the clean and reseal done in 2025. Shirley in the office was adamant about paying a deposit but then said it had been arranged for us to pay half at the start of the work and half at the start of the reseal which we agreed to. Dave arrived on the 12th May and did a great job he was polite and friendly and left the site clean and tidy and even put the hosepipe away. The day after Dan arrived and again was polite and friendly and did a great job resealing the clean drive. We will have it done again in a few years as it looks like new again. We hope we can pay the amount due in the same way next time. I wanted to give 5 stars but after some customer service concerns with your policies thought 4 stars was fair.
I had the bespoke driveway laid 24 years ago and it is still in very good condition .
Very recently the company came to clean and make minor repair before putting two weather proof protective coats on. Dan, who did the work was very professional and did an excellent job.
The people at the company are very helpful and I had a follow up review the next day to see if all was well.
I would have no hesitation in fully recommending them.
In response to T&C’s claim about the court case. I lost the case due to my lack of knowledge of Civil law, which is zero, and poor quality of photographs, basically lack of evidence. T&C are obviously vastly experienced in this domain and know how to go about things. The appeal process is a joke as I (with no knowledge of civil law) had to prove the judge made an error of judgement, as you can imagine, virtually impossible task. Yet T&C’s LIES were granted as evidence.
However, at no point throughout this dispute did T&C deem it worthy of a site visit, to this day they have not even been bothered to come and see the mess for themselves. If anyone doubts the poor workmanship please go on google maps and see for yourself and make your own mind up.
If you prefer you can contact me cm.macartney at virginmedia dot com and I will send you photographs. I honestly cannot believe this people are in denial of such sub standard workmanship.
Please for your own well being avoid these rogues at all costs. You complain its abuse.

I had an imprinted drive put down in 2020. I was never totally happy with the end product as the imprinting and colour were inconsistent. We had no joy from the company which continually fobbed off our complaints, so in the end we gave up and made the best of a poor job.
Why I'm complaining now is that I reported a break up of the drive, just a small area at the entrance. Under guarantee I was hoping that they might action the small repair or at least send a repair pack for me to carry it out. The guarantee option was totally ignored and they just quoted me for jobs not required. When I asked why the guarantee option wasn't considered I was informed that "we must have had a particularly heavy vehicle on the drive". How ridiculous! this is a private drive and is just subjected to normal traffic. I would be most interested to find out how they define a particular heavy vehicle and how they know this was the reason on the basis of a few photos. Their attitude to customer care service is it just gets in the way of company profit. So be careful using this company, if you have a problem with their work it is most unlikely you will get a satisfactory outcome.

The three guys, David, Jordan and Dan were simply wonderful. They went above and beyond to get the drive finished - Dan even started at 6.30am on the last day ! We are delighted with the finished drive and it is constantly being complimented by passers-by - we have already given their details to someone who wants a new drive. Could not recommend these guys more highly - from initial telephone enquiry, through a superbly efficient and knowledgeable structural surveyor to Shirley in the office who kept us informed all the way through. But the three guys ... well ! First class work ethic and such fun to have around too. If you want a drive - look no further.

From the start of our engagement with Town and Country to the completion of the job the company have been exceptional.
The team on site where great and worked so hard. Some of the best workmen I've encountered.
The office staff are also great checking in to make sure everything is going well.

I needed to cancel the job scheduled for early spring next year due to unforeseen circumstances. This was just over one month later obviously I lost my deposit of £2375, not only that, they would want another £1741costs & expenses.A total of £4116, this is is totally legal according to their "terms of trading" in the small print on the back of the contract you don't see at signing. After some strong communications they have agreed to settle for £500 not to take me to court. Not bad to say that the paper work probably hadn't even left the office desk. Do not have anything to do with this company, look at the photos of their work & their response to complaints be warned, don't pay a large deposit because not all companies are honourable. As I have found to my large cost.
Everything I have written is the truth Shame she's nothing better to do. She's quick to respond but not quick to send a receipt for my £500 for full and final settlement paid 8th September!!

My parents had a drive laid by them nearly 20 years ago and it was because it looked so good and lasted so well we decided to have similar and to use the same company
Several years ago we had all the paths and a small section of driveway laid by Town and Country We continue to be really pleased with the work and after resealing it looks as good as new. Therefore we had no hesitation in using the company again.
We had our blocked paved driveway removed and relaid with their 6" thick concrete in the Old English Cobble style. It looks amazing. We are extremely pleased with the result. We had only a short space of time to get the work done in as the driveway provides access to another property which is only out of use in August. Despite the awful weather at the beginning of the month they still managed to complete within the required timeframe and worked late into the evening and on a Sunday to do so which was much appreciated.
The crew were friendly and professional and worked really hard, and the site was left clean and tidy.
We had excellent communication from Shirley in the Office throughout the month and during the works, and we never had any problems getting hold of her when we had a question
All in all we are extremely pleased with the drive and based on our experience with the company would have no hesitation in recommending.

Avoid Avoid Avoid - There Is A Reason They Cost Less Than Other Quotes!
We made the mistake of going for the cheaper quote and wish we didn’t . . . .
I am awaiting a snotty reply to this review from ‘Shirley’ (telephone assistant) as per her usual snotty email replies to any complaint we have made and can I add that ‘Steve’ the owner/manager of this company (who clearly has zero integrity for his company and should be ashamed for the work carried out) designed our driveway and was never available to speak to at all during this process, we could only speak to the ‘telephone assistant’
We have so many complaints that the below is just a fraction of the catastrophe and upset this company has caused . . .
.They call the labourers (engineers) who are in fact, ex-convicts, I can guarantee no single person who works for this company is a certified engineer.
. Took over a year to complete
. Poor communication and lack of updates on work despite having paid in full, months before the work was completed
. Made to feel like we were not valued customers once the money has been paid and priority given to other jobs
. Damage to our property in the garage due to cement being sprayed onto our garden furniture and bicycles which has caused significant damage and has never been properly addressed or compensated for
. Waste materials from drive dumped behind the garage and rubbish left by workmen in the garden
. Water damage and leakage into the garage due to poor drainage being fitted
. Substantial gap left under the gates, over 6” in some places, due to too much material being taken and not enough replaced, leaving it unsafe for our pet to be let out in the garden
- Had to dig up part of the drive and re-do as a consequence and is now chipping away through poor insulation.
. Over the course of the year, the ongoing issues resulted in both of us experiencing mental health problems of stress and anxiety, over the uncompleted and poor work and lack of communication and resolve to the issues
. Having to request a second coat of sealant as initial coat was poorly applied and started to crack
- Fobbed off at every opportunity by the telephone assistant who refused to take our complaints to the company owner and had no communication or apology from him
- Not given the warranty because we didn’t return the warranty documentation ‘on time’ . . . . Sorry, but surely you return the warranty agreement which includes customer satisfaction AFTER ALL THE WORK HAS BEEN COMPLETED! But no, later told the work had been completed but it was ‘remedial’ work that needed carrying out, therefore, warranty void.
This review is 1000% factually correct and this company have zero comeback on this whatsoever!!!
Oh yes…not forgetting they have changed the name of the website after several incredibly poor reviews from other very unhappy customers…..look for

The team were friendly, helpful and worked very hard to build a great patio for our home in a short space of time. We are very happy with the result. It has increased the value our our house, but most importantly our enjoyment of the garden. Highly recommend Home and Country.

the two men who came. were very polite and efficient.I am very pleased with the resealing of the drive. It looks as good as it did nearly 20 years ago-when it was first constructed .I am pleased that I have had it done also ,as I am tired of the cold callers calling on me nearly telling me that they could do the work cheaply-Iprefer to deal with people that are trust worth.I consider Town and Country to be such a firm

I had my driveway and rear pathway installed by Town & Country twelve years ago. I couldn’t have been more pleased with the finished result at the time and it has proved to be the best investment ever. I have just had the third refurbishment and reseal completed by Jordan and Steve. They have done a magnificent job and the driveway looks as new as when it was first laid. It certainly gives my property ‘kerb appeal’.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Town & Country and I’d like to say thank you to Shirley for arranging everything and keeping me informed.

Who ever is thinking of laying a patio or drive way, i seriously advise to stay well clear of this company, I wanted a pressed concrete patio 11m x 5m , they came scraped off approximately 250mm of earth and left it on the grassed area of my garden. they then fitted a drain along the length of the house, and proceeded to lay the concrete and pressed design, looked ok. the first rain that fell created a pool in the middle of the patio, and did not fall into the drain at all, and when the rain was heavy the puddle turned into a pond 75mm deep, i phoned and explained my problem , they said show them pictures , which i did, then they said this was my fault i should have had a gravel strip along the front, which did not make any seance at all, being that the patio should have leaned slightly back so rain water fell back into the drain they fitted.I also explained to there site engineer that a gravel strip was for aesthetic reasons only not for draining water, i did not like this idea and left it out all together, being that the clay bottom wouldn't allow water to escape fast enough, they still maintain that i should have put in the gravel strip, unbelievable nonsense , ( I am also an engineer and know what im talking about here.) So just be warned this company is not that good at all.PS i had to invite another company to fix this problem, with added expenses, Town and Country did not want to know, once they got payed
----------------------------------------------------------
continuing from Town and country answer to my review.
1 The reason why i did not have a gravel strip is because i knew t wouldn't work, a gravel strip needs a trench dug and filled with gravel , the trouble with this is that most of shropshire is built on clay, now all engineers should know that clay is a natural plug and dosent allow water to pass quickly, therefore the gravel strip would be usless, and flood the patio even more, and being that the garden level is higher than the patio the water would flow onto the new patio causing a 75mm deep pond, The hole job tells me that the patio is tilting the wrong way. Waste water should drain back to the drain fitted the length of the house, but unfortunately water drains the opposite way
causing this problem. I did explain to the engineer how to rectify this problem , but he still blamed me for his mistake. I finally got another paving team to fix this bad work , under my instructions , now it works well and disperses water as it should. As for an extension i dont know what he is talking about, all i asked for which was extra to the job was a small ramp at the side entrance to the garden.
--------------------------------------------------------
Continuing from last mail
Town and country said i had pooling in the middle of the patio , if the patio was layed correctly the angle of the patio should tilt very slightly to the rear of the house so water flows into the drain that Town and Country installed, but water doesnt enter this drain at all, it wants to flow the opposite way, clearly telling me the patio angle is incorrect.
PS And do not tell me it took too long to start complaining. i did not want to complain unnecessarily and was keeping a close eye on this problem. but it became clear that Town and Country had made an unprofessional mistake on the laying of my patio.
and instead of keeping arguing with your unhappy customers, you better learn how to do a better job !!

The individual at Town and Country Bespoke Driveways Ltd charged with writing replies to customer reviews is clearly hell-bent on getting as close as possible to that 100 PER CENT NEGATIVE BAR which will quickly translate into much lower sales. And they're doing quite well in that respect! They have obviously had no customer service training whatsoever. Each reply they post to my comments re-enforces how dishonest, unreliable and untrustworthy they are.
Perhaps whoever is writing this diatribe should consult the dictionary for the definition of "CLOSED "
