Very annoyin policy
I opened an account at this bank about 2 months ago and since then they have been calling me insistently almost weekly or daily. I answered only once and it was a young lady who presented the advantages of cashing money into the account and setting up a meeting with a relationship manager in a branch. I told her that I thank her for the information and that I am not interested, after 20 minutes they called back. Let your clients breathe, if I want any information I ask for it myself at customer relations, it does not seem normal to me that they call me obsessively for 2 months in a row.

BCR - George application - unethical practices involving the theft of client funds
Thanks to the George application from BCR, I lost 100 euros on the own account ron-eur conversion. This application is rather confusing and leaves traces of interpretations, which should not be the case when financial investments are involved. The transfer from Romanian lei (RON) to euros (EUR) between two personal accounts was attempted, yet due to a flaw in the application system, the transfer was executed in the opposite direction. This resulted in a loss of approximately 100 euros. Upon further inspection, the George desktop application revealed several indications that elucidate the specific nature of a non-cash payment, the associated account from which it is being drawn, and the intended account to which it is transferred. However, these details are not accessible within the George mobile application. BCR declined to cancel the transfer on the grounds that their IT team had reviewed the transfer and determined that it had been erroneously executed. During my interaction with the call center agent, I was advised to initiate a request to cancel the payment. I proceeded to do so; however, my complaint was ultimately rejected. Totally disappointed with BCR's way of stealing money from BCR customers. It is evident that BCR has engaged in unethical practices by misappropriating funds from its clients. This issue is particularly egregious when considering that the funds in question were initially deposited into the customer's personal account and the procedures implemented through the George mobile application appeared to be in accordance with established guidelines. It is regrettable that BCR has chosen to engage in such practices. Shame BCR!
It is regrettable that BCR opted not to address the concerns that had been expressed. Despite the recognition of the inaccuracy of the app, there is no available recourse to rectify or invalidate the transaction. This is a particular problem because there were sufficient funds in the account, yet the bank did not cancel the transaction; instead, the bank benefited from the client's loss, by me misinterpreting the app process.

When we noticed and looked for re-financing that to other bank, they misinformed us, delayed the process - for an outcome of maybe few money as tax. Totally unprofessional - attitude of a street hustler. Rubbish!

The worst experience
I live abroad and 3 years ago it took me about 10 months to activate my etoken as I had to replace the phisycal one. I had to call multiple times, to wait very long time on the line and I was given incorect or incomplete answers. I spent lots of money for the phone conversations and I had problems because I needed the bank statements and they didn't deliver them on time. I contacted them on email as well and I made complaints but this only made things worse.
Now I am having the same problem, they closed my internet banking without informing me and they refuse to give me access although I contacted them since March (phones, emails, complaints but nothing works). Because they closed the access to my accounts I can't pay my bills, I have to pay penalties and perhaps the electricity and gas accounts are closed and it will cost me a lot to reopen them. Now they even refuse to answer my emails, I contacted them last time 6 days ago but no answer. The solution they gave me is to open a new account and to close it immediatelly (although I don't think I can close it, probably I will have to pay another account that I don't need). I tried many times to open the new account online but it didn't work (and it was hard to obtain a Romanian phone number just for this). They won't help to understand why, they won't close my accounts (just one) and they refuse to give me information regarding the transfer to another bank as I requested in my last email.
BCR is forcing me to pay for products that I can't use and I need and won't help in resolving the issue (it shouldn't last more than 10 min to have my access back and if not possible to advise me about moving to another bank that can offer the services I need). It also cost me trying to sort the issue and for not being able to use it.
BCR customer service is abusive, rude, they refuse to solve the problems that the bank itself created and if you make a complaint they will treate you even worse.
I don't recommend BCR to anyone, what is happening to me for the second time is unacceptable, especially considering this takes months and is extremely stressful. I am done with BCR, they couldn't be worse.

Such a bad bank , I moved abroad and I can’t talk to them they have 24/7 hours support for nothing , nobody answers on messages,mail or calls . i waited on the phone call for abroad a lot of minutes waiting for them to answer and they are not answering and they are charging me for the waiting. i can’t transfer my money or change the phone number on the app at least I can’t do anything from here . I moved abroad and everytime I need to access my online banking I need to physically be there, even if I gave someone else legal rights to update my account and to be able to transfer or pay online it still didn't work out.
I called their center a few times and one time only someone answered but couldn't help.
It is so hard to get in touch with them and everything is handled through an online applications called GEORGE, the worse one I have ever seen.
It is ridiculous and I am going to have to fly there and close the account and transfer it to a better bank.
Helpless!!! Stranded overseas without access to my funds 6 weeks later!
I am overseas. a. The bank blocked my card without letting me know over 6 weeks ago. I had to call them at huge expense to find out what happened. They told me they had noticed repeat transactions. I confirmed they were mine. The card remained blocked. I agreed to have a duplicate card sent to me at an expense of Euro50. I was told this would take 9-10 working days. NO COMMUNICATION after that: no reference number, no tracking number, absolutely nothing. I followed up 6 times with call centre who confirmed 'they don't do outbound comms'. Everytime they tell me to wait. No information about how long. No resolution. I have spoken to min 7 customer service people and am extremely frustrated. In the meantime, I have no access to my own funds, have spent considerable money on telephone communications, and have to rely on borrowing money from friends. Super poor customer service! I tried to escalate. All they have is a email address for the ...customer centre. Horrendously disappointing customer experience.

Andrada Ilea BCR Plaza Mall sucks
I went to BCR Plaza Mall for information about a credit and Andrada Ilea refused to serve me saying that it takes 1 hour and I need appointment for this. There was no client before me or after me, I was the only one there. I insisted that she helped me and she insisted saying I need appointment and she is waiting for clients to come in ONE HOUR. SO SHE HAD TIME TO TAKE ME, ALSO AVAILABILITY BUT SHE REFUSED BECAUSE SHE WAS NOT IN THE MOOD FOR A CREDIT SIMULATION.
BCR is the first offline online bank
BCR is the first offline online banking I ever used.
Every process has to be overcomplicated by beaurocracry. From updating my personal details to something as simple as getting a bank statement.
My other bank allows me to download all of my bank statements but George has to overcomplicated everything. I needed some BCR bank statements from 2020 for immigration reasons but apparently you have to go directly to a branch for statements that are 1+ years old.
Customer service was very helpful, however the ONLINE in online banking means you shouldn't have to book a branch appointment for every single problem.

The ATM machine stopped working with my card inside. Card from The UK. Went inside the bank and they told me to call The UK for some reason. They refused to understand the ATM stopped working.
