Top 10 Reasons I Love Baselang
I’m in my fourth month with Baselang, and I’m so impressed with the amazing program that I felt compelled to write to the founder, Connor Grooms, to thank him and tell him the reasons why I love it. Here are my top 10:
1. The Trial Period
Giving students a week to try the program was simple, yet genius! You could have offered a day, or a few, but a week really gave me the opportunity to test it out. I took over a dozen hours of lessons that week so I was able to evaluate teachers, get comfortable with your website, and check out your customer support.
2. The Teachers
I’ve been so impressed with the quality, and quantity, of the instructors, as well as their training. I’ve worked with a couple dozen so far, and I have more than a few favorites. Although I have a stronger rapport with some of them, I’d feel comfortable taking repeat classes with almost all of them.
I’m benefiting so much from the different teaching styles and areas of emphasis of the instructors. Some correct most of my mistakes, while others let our conversations flow so I can get more confident speaking continuously. Some are sticklers for pronunciation, while others introduce me to slang. A few of the teachers have given me great study tips and recommendations on how to learn the language more effectively. Having a variety of teachers regularly has helped me improve my Spanish tremendously.
3. The Curriculum
There are so many online resources these days to assist people in learning languages that I’ve often found it hard to decide what to study between lessons. Your curriculum solves that problem, and gives me a structure to make sure that my learning is comprehensive.
4. The Electives
What a bonus these are! Just last week I attended a wedding where I knew that a few of the guests would be speaking Spanish. A few days before, I did the “At the Wedding” elective and I was able to speak to them easily.
5. The Flexibility
I love that I can choose what I do in each class! Do I want to do a regular lesson? Fine. How about a lesson in a different level? No problem. Discuss a specific topic or challenge. Sure! Talk about anything or nothing specific? Absolutely!
6. Scheduling
I like to plan, so I typically schedule classes a few days in advance, but the ability to schedule on the spur of the moment is incredible. I love that if I’m going to have a free half hour starting in two minutes I can immediately book and take a lesson.
7. The English Fluency of the Teachers
Although I try to spend most of the time speaking Spanish in my classes, the fact that the teachers I’ve worked with speak such good English is a definite plus. Often, it’s just quicker and more efficient to have something explained in one’s native language!
8. Teacher Videos
I absolutely love that I can view the videos and hear the teachers speak in both Spanish and English before I sign up for a class with them. At my level, I need to be able to understand them easily in both languages.
9. Reliability
In my almost 70 hours of classes so far, I’ve never had a teacher sign on more than a minute or two late. I’ve had occasions where a lesson has run a couple of minutes over because the teacher and I were in the middle of discussing something, so it’s incredible that everything is so prompt.
10. Customer Service
I’ve had a few questions since I started with Baselang, and your customer service people have always answered quickly, efficiently, and in a friendly manner. It’s so nice to know that there’s someone to talk to if issues or questions arise.
Just what I needed!
I am loving my Baselang experience! It’s tailored to me and what I’d like to learn, and all at my pace. You spoil me, Baselang! My conversation partners are patient, encouraging, kind, and fun. So far I’ve worked on the Baselang curriculum, read outside materials, discussed various topics that stretched my vocabulary, and just chatted. I can already tell my listening skills have improved tremendously, plus I’m finding myself thinking in Spanish throughout the day. This is just what I needed to take my language skills to the next level.
The teacher was really helpful and made the lesson fun
The teacher was really helpful and really took time to explain the lesson.
Language learning accurate
It so good and great in learning some various languages.
This is the best language learning…
This is the best language learning system out there. It is not expensive for the quality of education you are receiving. The teachers are very nice and are well educated in teaching Spanish. Overall, I give it five stars.
I love BaseLang
I love BaseLang! It´s a great opportunity to practice Spanish with a diverse group of native speakers. There are a lot of resources, so you can learn on your own, or with a teacher. It´s really helped to be confident in speaking Spanish. I would love to see more interactive videos, but other than that, it´s been great.
great instruction and great patience!
Good customer service
Good customer service. Good availability of teachers. There is a wide variability of the teaching quality and one does have to search for the right match in teachers but BL has good quality resources.
beat my expectations
it has been and continues to be a great experience. For the price point and convenience it CANNOT be beat. if you are expecting graduate college level teaching then of course you will be disappoint, but if you are expecting professionalism, engaged teachers, and a thorough curriculum, then you will be more than happy with it. I have been using it for a few months now and I have definitely improved. dont kid yourself, it still takes time, and you still need to immerse yourself and interact with spanish speakers and spanish media on your own time, no matter what program you use.
BaseLang is effective!
Before using BaseLang, I studied Spanish independently for 2 years but experienced little progress. After 2 months in BaseLang, my ability to speak and understand Spanish has improved significantly. The educators, instructional content, support staff, blogs, and additional resources are exceptional and offer an effective approach to learning and speaking Spanish.
Multiple options for indepth learning
There are many instructors to choose from with various teaching styles. I appreciate the coverage of availability, being able to receive instruction at all times of the day.
Baselang is one of the only online…
Baselang is one of the only online platforms offering DELE exam preparation classes. The teachers are very helpful and there is an overwhelming number of lessons to help you prepare.
The best way to learn
Learning with a tutor is so much better than using an app, when I have incorrect pronunciations or I have problems sounding out new words. My instructor is very understanding and helps me break down the words so I can say them properly.
excellent very engaging teachers
excellent very engaging teachers. Learn at your own phase.
Great Class
Great teacher, took me through the class and answered my questions well. A+ service.
Doesn't work for Spanish from Spain
The system is perfect, but its only suitable for latin America. if you want to learn to speak Spanish from Spain it does not work. The classes dont incorporate the conjugations and specific words for Spain. To bad.. because it's a good platform for the rest.
Great value for a high quality service
