Group 1 Cambridge; probably the crappest BMW dealership in the country. A disgrace
I scheduled an appointment and booked the car in for repair. However, after waiting for hours, on collection of the car, there was little evidence that any work had been done at all, given that the issues persisted. The valet that followed was equally abysmal. They stained the front passenger's car seat and items had been placed down, the driver’s under-seat air vent, causing rattling when the car moved from a stationary position.
Probably the crappest BMW dealership in the country. A disgrace.... The service department of this branch should be closed down or all staff fired.

There Cambourne showroom SERVICE TEAM never ever picks up the phone!! Calls route to to call centre and even they have problems getting through even to switchboard when two ladies sit at their desks polishing their nails. No wonder people flogging to Chinese and Asian Car makers as there customer service is so much efficient. I suggest if people have complaints report to BMW Germany HQ go to the Brand itself and they will look into it.
The tried to scam me and rip me off…
The tried to scam me and rip me off with a £3-5K repair charge for repairs they made up and are not needed at all. The trite scenario of a single woman that brings her car in for inspection and they think they can take advantage and feed me with wrongful information and bullshit / unfounded diagnosis conclusions and that I will believe them all and pay them that large amount of money. Stay away from these unethical people. Please.
Pointless dealership….. avoid!
Went from a good experience to a dreadful one. Purchased a brand new 750e and less than 24 hours later it was riddled with faults and broken down. It was a great test for the dealer but they came up short. Took 6 days to fix, was left in rubbish courtesy cars, but eventually was fixed. 3 days later it faulted all over again. Tried to return the car to be fixed but was told they “don’t do diagnostics on a Friday” so I was left with a car I couldn’t drive for another 5 days. Literally couldn’t write it when 2 other BMW dealers told me that service was poor. Now they are saying they can’t find the fault despite me having photo evidence. No managers make contact despite making a formal complaint, all in all rubbish customer experience. I was planning to
Purchase two further cars from them but they have lost the sales now too, all because they can’t be bothered to do “diagnostics on a Friday” or deal with customers in the right way. Fortunately in Cambridge we have 2 other great dealers within 25 minute drive from here so would recommend avoiding Cambridge.
BMW CAMBOURNE TWICE NO REPLY TO CONTACT
Contacted bmw Calbourne ref new car order , twice over feb ,no one replied , I have now placed new car order ,where I recieved exellent care & interest , not bmw.
Dreadful and costly awful experience.
This Dealership doesn’t even deserve 1 star! I paid £37,000 for a 71 plate 4 series back in September, car was presented with all 4 wheels corroded, there was an area on the front panel with an incomplete paint rectification still present, Dealership did correct the above complaints, but the poor standard of workmanship resulted in the car going back for a 2nd time as a wiring sensor hadn’t been replaced. I had the mis fortune to lose faith in the selling salespersons integrity having told me on the Saturday the car was booked in that they had looked at it. When in fact the car hadn’t actually moved!! ( GPS tracker fitted!!) The dealership never ever return customer telephone calls, and when they do the so called managers get their understudies to call back for them with the pretence they are unaware of a given situation!! My car now has a cutting out fault, the heater periodically sticks on and to be honest it really is just an expensive pile of junk. I am done with the experience and have decided to get an early settlement and cut my loses, I estimate this experience will equate to an approx 6K loss to me over a 5 month duration. I have owned BMWs for over 20 years but the experience with this dealership is by far and away the worst I’ve ever been involved with. Really stressful with the feel of a dodgy back street garage experience. Avoid the stress and Heartache. Let alone the high financial loss!!
Awful dealership!!
Awful awful dealership! Only had the car 5 months, and had a fault on the clutch that was clearly done prior to me having the car. Even though you get a one year warranty, don’t be fooled because nothing will be actually covered as I found out the hard way! Was told then it’d be almost £3,000 for a replacement that wasn’t even my fault! This has made me avoid BMW completely and will continue to avoid like the plague in the future. For a customer to have had the car 5 months and to get no support at all is absolutely shocking, once they get the sale you’re no longer looked after. Shocking dealership.

Group 1 Cambridge BMW provided very disappointing experience.
There was over £2100 repair bill for my car which I have paid but I continue having problems with the car. I have called Group 1 Cambridge BMW several times but it seems that their service department is always too busy to answer. I have requested and been promised a call back but to this date no one has contacted me back.
Fantastic Experience
Fantastic Experience
I recently bought my BMW 530D from Barons Cambridge dealing with Paul S. From start to finish the service was amazing.
I test drove my car and hand the keys in my hand same day after whole papers and payments complete! All the services and extras had been carried out with no fuss. Got all the answers to my question.
Highly recommend, very easy and pleasant car buying experience.
Terrible outfit
Terrible outfit, booked my vehicle in for a product recall under safety from BMWUK,
The garage didn’t confirm the appointment, when I rang up to complain, nobody called me back when they promised they would,
the MOT is incorrect that showing up on the dashboard of the BMW and I’ve asked them to remove that, nobody has done that either,
I asked for somebody in customer, service manager or department manager to call me, even though the advisory for the safety still hasn’t been completed, nobody has called me back at all,
A very poor company, a very poor dealer on behalf of BMW, I would take your BMWs to a different garage or group than this one,
And I’m sure after this with you they will tell you that somebody will contact you shortly,
But as usual, these companies always leave it until the review is left before action actually happens
ABSOLUTELY DREADFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE
I have just had the most dreadful experience with your BMW Cambridge Branch. First of all I drove for over an hour to get there at 8.30am and was told they needed the car all day. I was then called at 10.15am to say the service had been completed. I then had to drive for an hour back to the garage to collect my car, why couldn't the garage say it would only take less than two hours and I would have waited saving over two hours of wasted travelling time. I told the garage that the Auto Hold was dangerous and needed adjusting and that the car made an awful noise when braking in reverse. When I picked the car up I was told 'lot's of people don't like the auto hold, just turn it off' and, regarding the braking noise in reverse I was told this is 'normal' and there is nothing wrong with the car. I was then walked back to my car to discover there was a large chip in the windscreen that was not there when I dropped the car off. Clearly the mechanic who serviced it had tried to hide the damage thinking I wouldn't notice. I wanted to leave the car with the garage so they could repair the windscreen but was told the garage 'have no cars available' when there was a line of demonstrator cars outside. This is clearly unbelievable given it was BMW that damaged the car. BARONS BMW CAMBRIDGE - I would like to make a formal complaint, can you please let me know how I make a formal complaint. Obviously I will not be dealing with BMW Cambridge ever again.
Let down by the service team.....
Had my 2 series booked in for weeks now regarding a SAFETY recall. They call us a couple of days before to cancel saying "They don't do that type of recall on a Saturday" Ermmm maybe it would have been a good idea to mention this on the day i book it. I'm glad to see they think it's ok for my wife to drive around in a car that requires a SAFETY recall. I was going to look at buying another car from them next year as the sales team were nothing but excellent when we purchased the 2 series, but this has really annoyed me and won't be going back again. Well done service team!!!

I've just sold my BMW 1 Series that I'd owned for the past 6 years. I always serviced the car through the team over at Barons Camborne and they've been absolutely world class.
Prompt to deal with any issues, realistic and friendly advice - a real family feel.
Thanks for everything Barons, my next move is into electric vehicles but I will be back if I ever dabble in BMW's 'iSeries' - the I4 M50 is the dream!
BMW640D EGR recalled for a second time
BMW640D was recalled for a second time with regards to the EGR issues, today AUG12 2022 So called barons BMW in Cambourne and spoke to servicing although the receptionist spoke with curtesy I was told that I could book the car in but no curtesy car was available UNTIL 12 SEPTEMBER 2022. I was informed should I require the recall work to be done sooner then the cost of transport to and from Cambourne for drop off and collection would be my own with no apologies, no collection, no drop off, no curtesy car. I asked if they would pick up the expense of a taxi but got no answer, I was also informed that the car would be in for two days, after pondering what I should do next I called to speak to the servicing Manager time was 09:53 at this point I stated that I would be writing a review on Trustpilot. whilst still waiting for the manager to call I had a BMW service centre call about the EGR recall at 11:25 although it was explained that a manager was supposed to call me the courteous person on the phone stated that they would also send the manager an e-mail to make contact. Finally manager made contact at 12:00 to confirm the limited resources they have available, his hands were tied although a well mannered conversation. my final conclusion is do I continue with bmw or not ? do I get value for having a Flag ship car? this I think would need to be determined at a later stage

I have had such a bad experience with this company I am moving away from BMW
My car which had done 8000 miles was diagnosed as needing new front discs and pads! This is a major safety system failure and the only explanation seems to be it’s the way I drive the car!
They did not want to discuss it at all. BMW customer service was just as bad thinking my safety concerns mattered little.
I have now git rid of the car at great expense.
I would not advise anyone to use this company

I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH THIS PLACE AGAIN 😡 Extremely poor customer service and be careful if your car needs to go to the body shop. We bought our expensive used X3 from them about 1 month ago. After a couple of days we noticed there was minor paint damage near the rear light. After contacting them they agreed it was warranty work due to a badly fitted light. They have now had the car in the body shop longer than we have had the car in our possession. IT HAS TAKEN THEM AT LEAST 3 ATTEMPTS TO GET THE PAINTWORK TO AN ACCEPTABLE STANDARD. The car has been with them nearly 3 weeks. Who would be happy with this?? Their unwillingness to give a refund unless they totally shaft us on price is disgusting and leaves us with no option but to have the car back. God knows what the paintwork looks like now. Guess we’ll find out when they eventually return our car to us!!
PLEASE BE CAREFUL IF YOU WORK IN THE MOTOR TRADE AS YOU DO NOT HAVE THE SAME CUSTOMER RIGHTS AS YOUR EVERYDAY PERSON.
Would rather eat Pizza than sell cars!!,
I went into Barons of Cambridge as I wanted to purchase a new BMW, when I went in there was the receptionist behind the desk who smiled and acknowledged me, I then proceeded to walk up and down the showroom for 10 mins in this time I saw 5 people behind their desks 2 were txting on their phones 2 was on the computer and 1 was on the phone, at no time did anyone look at me nor acknowledge I was there, I then went back to the receptionist and aske her if I needed an appointment to see someone and she said no! I then was about to tell her my experience when she shot up off her seat and said sorry my pizza is here and ran out side to pay for her Domino’s pizza!!
I traveled 70 miles to another BMW dealer and purchase a £55,000 BMW and the service was great!
Avoid Barons as you just might get the service I received!!!
Hell is a nicer place
The worst experience ever. They make the 'brand' a laughing stock. All bmw garages must be like this.
I went to Barons parts dept in Borehamwood to exchange a defective radiator cap (few months old).My mechanic of 30 years+ experience said to change it.
The parts lady was 'suddenly at lunch' at 3.30 pm. A man in a florescent jacket kept coming over to the coffee machine whilst my wife was using this (staff and needs help?). The parts lady was occupied with her lunch so someone called 'Harry' got involved. He was rude from the start & aggressive. He said if you had not used the parts ...'I'd change it' How does this work buy a part from BMW consult a psychic who tells you its defective and then return it in pristine condition? Even my wife tried to tell 'brain of britain' harry that how can you know a part is defective until it is utilised? These people at Barons are seriously making the brand BMW a complete & utter laughing stock. I really used to have time for a brand which is really in the gutter. Florescent jacket guy you really need lots of therapy as does 'Harry'. What makes you guys hate customers to the extent that you made my wife cry? Get manners or leave the job who asks you to work there? There is absolutely no empathy and senior BMW officialdom ignores customer woes ...they simply don't care.
To top it all Harry invited a 'warranty' person into the conversation. As soon as I asked him a question, Harry intervened and said ..''he works for me'' directly (perhaps) telling this guy his job is on the line!
Absolute nasty people. I very sincerely hope if there is a god in heaven Germany HQ wake up to the very basic level of human nastiness displayed by these people. Why are trading standards not involved from Hertfordshire county council. Less than a year old £15 radiator cap come on Harry I'll give your dealership the £15 such desparate people for a penny profit. SAD SAD seems HQ does not give a monkeys.Note this is for BOREHAMWOOD not cambridge.
Fantastic
Professional, friendly and efficient service received when buying my car. Robert Pinto made the whole experience easy and reassuring without any patronising sales speak. Would definitely recommend this dealership, after a difficult experience with one of the other branches
Avoid at all cost
Avoid at all cost, today I spoke to the Manager of this branch, his name is Mr Scots Stain* and he made fals claim that something was wrong with my Disk and break pads that my disk was warped, but I only changed them 4 month ago and the job was done by themselves, after it was done I noticed that my steering wheel was shaking when driving, then I dropped the car there to be investigated like last week and guess what? They now saying I need to change my disks and break pads again only after month !!!!. They will not admit that they messed up the first time around when they worked on my car 4 month ago and how can a 4 month disk be warped!!!!!!? I am a normal driver like anyone else.
Another person name Michael, he doesn't give a tusk about communicating information about the car to customers, It is an utter joke!! I will be making a video about this and it will be on my YouTube Channel soon giving an honest review about my experience!
