Useless service and a wast of your time
Nothing is their problem and they are unwilling to find a solution to help. They hide behind « we need to know our customers » and other made up sentences.
Overall they do nothing for their « customers » and really don’t seem to care give any service at all.
Utterly shocked at their inability to provide finance
I wish I had read some reviews before trying to use this ridiculous shambles of a company for a finance deal. Trying to buy furniture from Next for £77 a month, have a credit score of 1000/1000 and earn over £50K a year. They couldn't authorise the finance straight away, and it had to be referred, after three days of being subjected to the Spanish inquisition about my finances, they stop replying to my emails. I cant believe a respected company such as Next are actually using them for Finance deals, they must be losing out on millions of pounds of sales.
What a joke!
What a joke! They claim that you can service your account 24/7. This is a blatant lie. There simply is no automated phone service. No options to obtain a balance, to make a payment or anything else. It takes you through a few questions to 'retrieve your account details' then tells you the contact centre is closed and to call back during office hours. Then it hangs up. What happened to 24/7?
No customer portal on the website either, just endless quick links that tell you the things you're supposed to be able to do, but which don't work.
All I wanted to do was get an account balance so I could settle my Apple finance. After an hour all I've managed to do is raise my stress levels, without achieving what I wanted to do.
It's a farce. Frankly in this day and age, any finance operation that doesn't have an app to allow users to view their accounts and make payments is decidedly sketchy.
Awful - Just don't use.
Awful.
Used with a purchase on Amazon.
The app they force you to use is useless, it rarely works and it crashes when I try to make payments.
After trying for 4 days to make a payment via the app, rang their "automated telephone service" - which is NOT an automated telephone service - got put through to an Indian call centre!
Barclays really need to get their act together and sort their app out, and actually have an automated telephone service!
What a let down
Pretty much the same scenario as every other reviewer.
Excellent credit score and affordability but still rejected.
Where to start.

Agents are inept haven’t got a clue how to handle people. I was giving 3 different figures. The one agent said I used a profanity word, I called them scammers. When I asked to speak to complaints team I was told that what I wanted to complain about didn’t met the requirements. When I managed to get through I asked for them to call me on a Saturday I was told that they only worked Monday to Friday. I called up on a Saturday the agent said I would be put through to the complaints team. When this was challenged I got hung up on.
Crap
Crap, i do not want to apply to it i just wanna be able to purchase and move on, it shouldnt be a requirement
Ruining our lives
Ruining our lives. For one whole year we have been waiting for a letter or email from them to say they have no financial interest in our car if we sell it. One whole year. Back and forth lies, saying they'll send it and nothing arrives. My husband's mental health is on the brink and I hold them responsible. We Buy Any Car said they have never dealt with such a difficult company, and they have had possession of the car for 3 months now. They've now dropped car back to us whilst we all sit and wait. It's inhumane the way they have communicated with us. Putting us to the back of 28 day complaint wait everytime we reply!! Shocking. We have now gone to Resolver, next will be legal proceedings and BBC Spotlight.
Deserve a chance!
Initially had a poor experience, however, after raising a complaint I spoke with Mohammed who did an excellent job at putting things right and restoring my faith in Barclays Finance. Usually a good egg in these companies and ‘Mo’ went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service and turn things around,
Don’t try to complain
Don’t try to complain! Despite logging a complaint in September (the system broke on apple launch day) I’ve still not heard back, can’t speak to them, can’t speak to a manager, multiple call backs promised, guess what. They don’t happen. Tried to do a DSAR, declined, told I had to send a copy of my passport in the post - I don’t think so.
I want to go to FOS but can’t until they actually reply or we reach 8 weeks. I’m sure they are hoping I’ll go away… I won’t.
Unless you have no alternative I really wouldn’t want to deal with this company. If anything went wrong, I’m pretty sure you can’t rely on them based on this experience.
Horrendous company
Horrendous company.
Lied about several issues.
Taking to the ombudsman as they’re totally incompetent
Apple Loan - top credit rating not good enough!
Useless - applied for 24 months interest free credit via Apple for a new iPhone. Barclays Partner Finance rejected this which came as quite a shock. Their email said to check my Experian score, which I have just done; my score is 999 out of 999! So, these clowns are refusing a circa £40 a month loan to someone with the highest credit rating possible and who earns more than enough to easily cover the repayment. There is no logic to their decision.
I will be complaining to Barclays and reporting this to the Financial Conduct Authority.
Apple Purchase with BPF credit
I purchased an iPhone 13 which I took credit from BPF, never had any late payments and only have 2mths to go to close off this credit with them, so I chose to upgrade using the upgrade option to the 15, apple said the best option is to start another credit plan with BPF and have a trading price of £350 but was declined, called them but they did not care, I have at posting a credit score of 827 out of 1000. 3 outstanding loans which 1 is for my current plan with Apple and BPF, SKYGlass and a new loan I understand that Finance companies have to make sure you can make payment and live within your means but, what is frustrating when you call the support number they do not understand or able to compute that, the person that they have just declined is about to end one of his loans and so the amount of outgoings would increase by £10 difference plus they do not see that each month I transfer £200 to a saving account of this APPLE has lost a customer and BFP I will never use and will advise other companies that they have lost my purchase due to how BFP has treated me.
What a Joke
Have excellent credit scores, wanted an Apple product, applied for interest free loan through BPF, which was refused. Contacted BPF, appealed against the decision and was rejected again. I had an interest free loan through BPF 2 years ago no problem. Asked why, was told they could not give the information out and to contact Experian. Looking at the latest reviews it appears it is a common occurrence. Will go for a phone other than Apple.
If I could I will give them 0 stars .
If I could I will give them 0 stars .. awful company to deal with. They ruined my credit score over a payment direct debit refund which next advised that they will sort for a damaged wardrobe which next collected. I cancelled my direct debit as product was picked. This awful company went ahead inspite of no fault of mine and put a negative credit rating for me which affected my overall credit rating .. now I have put my complaint to financial ombudsman . I was bitten twice by next and Barclays finance partner for nothing . stay away from this finance company people. incompetent fraudsters
If I could give it none I would
If I could give it none I would. Awful awful service. Customer service are rude and unprofessional and unhelpful. Would never recommend or use
The Customer Service Executive
The Customer Service Executive, Sujatha Day, came across as polite but somewhat unhelpful. She asked me a series of security questions, and I answered all of them correctly except one. She wanted to know the specific loan amount, which I couldn't recall because it had been over 2 years. Consequently, she determined that I had failed the security check. It's frustrating that the system has such stringent requirements in place.
Terrible Service, Poorly Managed
To cut a long story short, had an account with BPS since November 2022. Was offered a decent chunk of credit with them and had no issues paying off the first thing I ordered on the account.
Ever since then, I've had issues ordering items through this method and finally decided to ring them today.
Turns out that the item I was attempting to buy (which was less than 10% of my credit limit) was being declined because my monthly payment limit had been set to £0.00 due to my current circumstances (nothing has changed) therefore no matter the period, the check would not pass. My credit has never been below excellent, and is currently still excellent, however there was nothing they could do to rectify this so my credit was essentially held hostage to a £0 monthly payment limit.
Closed my account on the spot, Amazon have moved to this from a decent in-house system and have now completely lost all credit-based custom from myself. Really says something when a company is so poorly managed that they can't even run a finance service properly. They're really damaging any brands associated with themselves and have truly earned their rating on this site.
Absolutely terrible
Absolutely terrible, excellent credit rating and have used the upgrade program for years - without issue.
This time it got declined (it happened once before but it was because of an incorrect bit of information on their system - a quick phone call solved it). This time the person on the phone was INCREDIBLY unhelpful and condescending. When I told him what had happened previously he said “impossible we can’t do that” and generally sounded like a stuck up know it all.
In the end I gave up and purchased the phone outright, but now I’m tasked with selling it when I want to upgrade next year.
But one thing is for sure - I will never use the upgrade program again as long as Barclays are involved!
a zero rating option isnt available
Im forced to give a 1 rating because 0 and negative infinity isnt an option!!! Got an agreement in email saying direct debit set up but then get another letter in post that its not set up and dont bother trying to login or speak to them cos it aint happening
