I returned to Bannatyne after a 10-year break and much deliberation. However, this time I'm accessing it differently. Last time I swam and used the machines, but lacked motivation. This time I've tried a few classes and enjoyed them all. Other members are friendly and happy to help. The staff welcome you with a hello and are there to support you. I missed this personal touch at budget gyms. The pool is beautiful, and I love the cafe with Starbucks coffee. Ultimately, I look forward to going, which makes it worth the expense and is the whole point of joining a gym.

The staff are friendly however some parts of the establishment need some TLC and some cleaning and they have a lot of maintenance issues and when something goes off-line i.e. shower it stays off-line for a few weeks. The Jacuzzi is not very warm and half the Jets work which has been like that since the month I joined. it’s small things like not being able to see the temperature inside the steam room having to wait for a shower not to be able to spin your trunks and not being able to find parts in the gym because it’s not tidied up on a regular basis and other people are lazy.
They need to spend some money on the place to bring it back up to a minimum standard.
Fortunately, I took out a three month trial membership however when I tried to downgrade to an off peak membership, I was told you can’t downgrade you can only upgrade.
If you want a full-time membership, think very carefully because most of the time you can’t get anywhere near the equipment you need in the gymnasium.
I’ve experienced a few of the classes and they were very enjoyable, but maybe a little bit overcrowded.
Am I sure I’ll renew my membership at the end of my three month trial, not sure yet.

Swimming pool - Good
Sauna and steam - good
Gym floor and equipment- poor ( for 54 pound a month)
Changing room - good
Showers - avg
Studio - good
Classes - good
The gym floor equipments are worn and some of them you cant even figure out the weight prints, there amount of machines are limited and is only 1 Smith machine. There are no resistance bands in this gym. No calf machines. Join this gym if you want a more health club experience with limited training routines .

I’ve had a fantastic experience with Bannatyne Health Club at Wellingborough from the very start. From the moment I enquired about a tour, the service has been 5 stars – I genuinely can’t fault anything.
The tour itself was really informative. We were shown around properly and also given the chance to explore the gym floor in our own time, which helped us get a real feel for the place. The staff member who showed us around (I’m so sorry I’ve forgotten her name!) was brilliant – she explained everything clearly, including how the classes work, the gym layout, and even when the busy periods are. She was very open and honest, which I really appreciated. She also mentioned that we might be eligible for a staff discount through work, which turned out to be true – such a nice bonus! We ended up signing up the same day.
Since joining, all the staff have been really friendly and welcoming. I had my initial gym induction with Rachel Gunn and she was amazing. She really listened and took the time to understand my medical condition, then created a bespoke gym plan tailored to me. I’ve also attended two of her group classes – they were tough, but incredibly effective!
I’m now two months in and so glad I decided to join. The facilities are excellent, with modern gym equipment and a lovely pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room – it’s a great all-round environment.
5 stars from me!

Treatment with Sarah. Best facial and massage I have had.

Bannatyne Newcraighall is a lovely club. Staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful and there is a nice atmosphere in all areas. The gym is well equipped and gym and class instructors are well trained and create a very inclusive vibe. However the new generic music for timetabled classes is truly terrible - not one familiar tune to energize, motivate and connect. So if you’re looking to use the gym or pool areas, go for it! Otherwise prepare to struggle through your spin or aquarobics class longing for a decent tune!

I have been here for a few years I am unfortunately in process of looking at other gyms . There are too many kids allowed in . There are swimming lessons on Monday afternoon and weekend thus restricts the pool . kids are then also in sectioned off area for swimming.I feel toys and floats should not be allowed in which they are .

Bannatyne Newcraighall is a very friendly gym. The staff are great, there is obviously a shortage of staff in areas that is difficult if there's not enough people. There are maintenance problems that should be dealt with sooner than they are but overall I like going here.

It’s a lovely gym, but it would be great if you could add more staff or better motivate the current team to improve the overall experience.
I’ve noticed that circuit training and body conditioning classes are missing, especially early in the morning and after 6 pm. This makes it difficult for people who work from 9:00 to 5:30 to attend, as these classes used to be available at those times.
Many of us would like the option to do an intensive workout in 30–45 minutes, but now the schedule seems to focus only on strength development, with the same routine every week. It would be nice if the program could alternate weekly to add more variety.
Additionally, it would be good to improve the cleanliness of the gym floor and the studio.

I mainly do the classes and swimming The classes are great. The instructors are all really good including the external ones who are really popular and the classes are all challenging enough but equally tailored so you can go to your level. You need to book well in advance as soon as they are available on the app to get a space though and the parking is often really busy so come early. The whole staff team are really friendly and knowledgeable but the building and carpark are a bit tired although there has been work done recently and still ongoing so is improving

The tutor is fantastic (restorative yoga) and she does well to provide a class whilst competing with the noise from the gym and/or people come out of other classes. Why Bannantynes came up with the idea to have a gym next to mindfulness studios, god only knows! Definitely a design fault. Don’t even start me on the pool and the fact that nobody gives a damn about “members” enjoyment of it in that rules seem to be made to be broken and the staff turn a blind eye…

Competitive pricing. Good selection of classes, and the staff are engaged and motivational.

Good upgrade of the gym & equipment recently. Good mix of classes although if you don't book as soon as they are released, you have slim chance of getting booked on. Staff are friendly and helpful. The changing facilities are in desperate need of upgrading to match the gym floor upgrade. The wood used in the changing rooms are rotting, the floor is beyond what any cleaner can do. The toilets are smelly and just aged, like you are back to school in the 90's!

Really enjoy being a member at the gym and a lot of good people from staff and other members make it all the more enjoyable. I do alot of the spinning classes and the biggest issue has been changing over to "The group music". Its making the classes very difficult to enjoy and if i wanted to go to a "Rave" i would tag along with my daughters at the weekend into town. Haven't met a member who enjoys the new music at all and i you can tell me the spinning classes declining in numbers and it would be good if the group listened to its members and reverted back to the music as before this change was implicated

The gym equipment has been revamped, and the changing rooms renovated, which has made the whole club feel fresher.
Gym areas have been separated out, which means some parts of the gym feel 'exclusive' to body builders & weight lifters rather than the gym being integrated, which is a shame as it detracts detracts from the friendly, inclusive environment.
There's been a recent trend for people to sit on/at pieces of equipment for long periods of time simply checking their phone. Encouraging people to be more considerate would help the gym accommodate more people.
The recent update to the app has made it more difficult to find/book classes, and really difficult to arrange a programme review with a selected instructor. The app feels driven by advertising and trying to sell 'stuff' rather than enhancing the membership experience.

The gym has good equipment and it is kept really clean compared to another gym I was at nearby! Staff are friendly, classes are often full. Things to improve would be to add more classes especially at the weekend. It was annoying that the gym closed early on Easter Friday/Monday, it would be great if it had normal hours in future and instead give the staff time off.

Too many “we are on it” stickers around, things seem to be constantly out of order
Also frustrated at the members sitting on equipment but playing with their phones, especially during busy times!

Sutton Coldfield branch is always lovely
Hannah is amazing!! Brilliant massage and pedicure, thank you

States “30 minute treatment” when I only got 15 minutes because they take off time before and after for preparation, £60 for that is such a scam!
