I bought an open return to Edinburgh…

I bought an open return to Edinburgh the train up was lump, clearly signposted at kings cross that the first five coaches were for Edinburgh and lumo. I booked the return train through the lner app, I found it hard to book a return seat very confusing finally did and booked a train that I only realised was azuma and not lumo when ticket checker came around. I booked the ticket but was not asked for money by the app so I assumed it was fine. I was charged £87 on the train. Told that my open return said lu mo only on very small text. I seem to be able to book either train company through the app, without warning or notification, almost bound to catch people out. Train guard sneered , saying as I had such a cheap return I should not expect to be on azuma.
