How I regret every landing on their webpage.

Some of you can relate. You are looking to cruise and casually check a few travel agency websites to compare prices. And, really, you should be able to do that with a certain amount of privacy.

After landing on and casually checking prices on Avoya Travel's site, I regret it with each passing day.

This site forces you to supply personal information before it shows you prices. In doing so, I found that I would be continually harassed by phone calls from their agents and countless email advertisements that I can't unsubscribe from. I click on the unsubscribe button in my email and it takes me to their webpage with no further instructions. The harassing newsletters then continue.

Go read the complaints on their Better Business Bureau page from both customers and employees before making a decision to deal with this company.

All Avoya agents are actually independent travel agents that just work with Avoya but are not governed by Avoya. For 3-4 years I worked with an Avoya agent and then last year when the pandemic ramped up and my cruise was cancelled by the cruise company I attempted for more than 6 weeks to reach my agent and heard nothing back from her. Because I had used an agent for my booking the cruise line would not speak with me directly so I reached out Avoya and asked them to intervene, which they did, but instead of requesting Future Cruise Credits so I did not lose my perks, they requested a full refund and then said they could not go back and change how my booking was resolved. Because I paid for part of that cruise with gift cards I was issued that part of my refund with gift cards and then when I wanted to book a new cruise I was advised by the cruise line to go back to Avoya since they had my history for perks, etc. I did go back to Avoya and have had one issue after another with the agent assigned to me. He is a very nice person but there have been issues with my booking from day 1 and when I contacted Avoya I was told that all of their agents are independent and they cannot provide oversight on my dealings with him or address issues with the payments I've made that are not reflected in my invoice, etc. I have had to reach out to the cruise line multiple times - waiting on hold for no less than a half hour for each call - just to be told that my booking looks paid in full on their side but I have no paperwork that reflects that status. Based on this experience I will never use Avoya again and would advise anyone else considering using one of their agents to be very sure up front what services they are actually getting and if they have any recourse should they encounter problems along the way.
