Lee is so helpful and friendly

I gave my friend a lift to collect his car, we asked if we could plug in a car diagnostic scanner before paying as he'd had many issues with the car and been ripped off previously. The owner became immediately aggressive and confrontational, angry and defensive, refusing to give the keys or accompany us as we checked it.

I feel the need to expand on my review as the 'business' has decided to now call me a liar. Yet another sign of how disreputable this company is.

The owner was immediately confrontational and argumentative, unwilling to enter into a conversation or discussion, demanding payment and perceptably shaking. He threatened to block his car park, which fell flat when we agreed and told him to go ahead, as we simply wanted to verify the work had been completed before handing over £1500, which seems reasonable. Only a business with something to hide would refuse.

As per their response, they are also now refusing to work on this car again. So they are refusing to honour the warranty on the work and parts fitted, which is illegal and I look forward to seeing them in court should the need arise. A sign of a very immature company. In the face of criticism from a customer perhaps look at ways you could accommodate a simple request rather than meeting it with threats, calling the customers liars, implying they are thieves and scammers and then throwing your teddy out of the cot.

Definitely look elsewhere for your car repair needs. This business is dubious at best, intimidating at worst.

Be very wary and suspicious when dealing with this company, or, I, suggest, go elsewhere. Definitely take a fault code scanner along with you and check the work as a bare minimum.

Fantastic service provided from start to finish. Lee kept me fully updated on cost and progress at all times. I would definitely recommend this company.

Brilliant service and advice from specialists that know their stuff!
My Mondeo was diagnosed at a Ford Main Dealer needing over £5000 to replace the auto box and ancillary parts. They were not keen to even do the work.
Desperately I “googled” second hand auto box and was surprised to find Lee and the team in Huddersfield specialising in repairs - even had clear pricing on the website.
They arranged to collect my car and fixed it in double quick time.
No wonder - when you visit the premises it is mint!!

I rang autogearbox as I believed my gearbox was due a service. The guy I spoke to could easily have sold me a service but was really honest that with my particular car, the gearbox was notoriously poor and that whilst he would be happy to service it, it was unlikely an oil change would make any difference to the overall longevity of the gearbox. I really appreciated this advice, which ultimately meant he didn't get a sale from me but helped inform my decision making. Would definitely use in future.

My BMW X5 developed a fault after having the auto gearbox oil changed by a local garage. Subsequently the local BMW specialist changed the oil again and used the correct ZF gearbox transmission kit to reset the box and remove fault conditions from the onboard computer. However, although much better there was still a juddering and thumping noise from the car under light loads. No faults were showing on the onboard diagnostics. The problem was defeating our local BMW specialist who was thinking about a new autobox. So I contacted Lee and arranged for the car to be looked at by his team. A few days later they said it was probably the tyres not being all the same. Apparently they have seen examples before where unless the tyres are in the exact spec. preferred by BMW, the ABS can start to intermittently trigger giving rise to the juddering I experienced. So trusting to an experienced specialist saved me the cost of a new auto gearbox. I'm delighted and especial thanks to Andrew who patiently explained the solution to me in the face of my initial scepticism. Their hourly rates are very competitive too. Top marks and I recommend them without hesitation.
