I was having trouble enabling my new account and was able to reach someone in Astraweb support in less than an hour. The problem was solved in a few emails and I am up and running now. A big thanks
While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

Always reliable
Always reliable, and provided cover for free during billing issues a few years ago
No problems!
I have been a customer for 10+ years
I have been a customer for 10+ years. Two years ago they decided to increase the yearly cost from $96 to $120, but still offering $96 to everyone else and without warning. This year they were going to add another $24 to the price.
I cancelled and they immediately offered the old price, $120 plus tree free months. I ignored it, as $95 is a better deal.
They did not give up, and offered $48 plus 3 months free, which I tried to except, but they just ignore me. So bye bye Astraweb
Good Usenet provider
Despite some of the bad reviews on some of the "Usenet review" websites (which look kinda shady to me), I've pretty well never had a problem with Astraweb. I've been with them as a yearly subscriber since 2020, and had a block account with them prior to that dating back to 2011. They do appear to honor takedown requests, but who doesn't?

I've never had an issue with this service. Thank you.
Basically scammed with terrible support
I previously had an Astraweb account from 2015-2023. They recently sent me an email offering me a 12 month subscription with 3 extra free months at a cost of $2.99 a month.
I took them up on the offer, but they then billed me 44.85 - the cost of the full 15 months.
I emailed support expecting it to be easily rectified. I sent them the original email which clearly states that there are 3 free months. I also sent them a screenshot of my account page showing that I bought a 12 month subscription.
After going back and forth with them over the course of a few days they respond with this: "Thanks for being patient. We reviewed your plan and we see that the charge is correct.
To clarify, the offer is $2.99/month billed for the first 15 months in full which is why it is showing $44.85 then it will renew at $71.99/year."
Well, thanks, but I didn't need anything 'clarified' - I have an email here that states "You won’t find a deal like this anywhere else. All this for only $2.99/mo — but only if you act fast! Oh, and did we mention you also get 3 months of Astraweb access for free?"
There are many USENET providers who offer an equal or better service and they won't mess you around like this - choose one of those instead.

Been with astraweb for years. They have much better speeds than most providers. I use 3 providers in total and astraweb out performs the other 2.
