I've been in business for quite a few years so I was shocked when Ascent conducted themselves in the manner I'm about to explain;
After deciding to implement Zoho as a CRM in our business, we deemed it best if we configured and "designed" it ourselves in house, however, we used Ascent on a one day consultation basis @ £1'000 plus VAT to make sure everything we had done was up to scratch and that we were getting the best out of the solution. Ascent in return asked us to tag them as our preferred consultant with Zoho so they would receive a commission. I thought that was a fair request. My repayment for this?...
We obviously did a good job because a few weeks later they head hunted my Lead IT Tech! What a strange practice and not good for customer relations, clearly?
I called them to discuss the matter and the response from the account manager was " Yes I was aware, its a pretty rotten thing to do isn't it?" and then bumbled through the remainder of the call making weak attempts at trying to justify their actions.
Steer well clear, Ascent is clearly an untrustworthy outfit, very expensive and obviously poor at delivering on what they get paid to do, judging from other reviews.
Thank God we didn't use them for the whole project. I certainly won't be calling on their services again. My next stop is Zoho, I think they need to know how this consultant operates too.
