I had a very frustrating experience…
I had a very frustrating experience with APDerm and would not recommend this practice based on my recent care.
I initially made an appointment for a spot on my face that had been bleeding. During my visit, the PA-C acknowledged the issue and recommended a light-based treatment involving a topical cream. I agreed to proceed. However, attempting to schedule this treatment was extremely difficult. I called numerous times and was repeatedly transferred back and forth between the medical office and the cosmetic department. There appeared to be significant confusion among staff about how to handle the appointment, and I was frequently transferred before I could even fully explain my situation. Eventually, I was able to secure an appointment, but the process was unnecessarily time-consuming and frustrating.
When I arrived for the procedure, the same PA-C observed that the spot was actively bleeding—again, the primary reason for my visit—and then stated that the treatment I had been scheduled for was not appropriate for that specific spot. Despite this, the procedure was still performed, but the actual area of concern was avoided. As a result, I had to return for a separate visit to have the spot treated with a different method.
In addition, wait times for every appointment exceeded an hour, which is unacceptable and shows a lack of respect for patients’ time.
Overall, this experience reflected poor communication, disorganized scheduling, and questionable clinical decision-making. I hope the practice takes steps to improve coordination between departments and provide clearer guidance to patients.
