If I could give zero stars
If I could give zero stars, I would.
My experience with Anthony’s Fine Jewellery has been nothing short of exhausting and deeply disappointing.
After purchasing my engagement ring, a side diamond fell out. I was charged $1,210 for a replacement. When the ring was returned, the replacement diamond was visibly mismatched in natural light and had to be sent back again.
After collecting the ring for the second time, two more diamonds fell out within six and a half hours of careful wear. There was no accident, impact or misuse. Despite this, Anthony’s repeatedly blamed my “lifestyle” and suggested I had knocked the ring on something, despite providing no evidence that this had occurred.
Instead of standing behind their workmanship, they offered to remake the ring—but only if I paid another $1,265. They acknowledged that a stronger setting was needed, yet still maintained the original design was suitable. Those two positions simply do not align.
Over the course of this matter I have made multiple long trips, taken time off work, incurred additional expenses and spent months trying to resolve an issue that should never have happened in the first place. My engagement ring has spent more time with the jeweller than on my finger.
The repeated failures have completely destroyed my confidence in Anthony’s workmanship, quality control and customer service. A ring marketed as fine jewellery should not repeatedly lose stones after careful wear, particularly immediately following repairs.
I have now been left with no confidence in the product, no confidence in the repairs, and have been forced to escalate the matter through the Queensland Office of Fair Trading.
I cannot recommend Anthony’s Fine Jewellery to anyone looking for quality craftsmanship or after-sales service. There are many jewellers who genuinely stand behind their products—sadly, in my experience, Anthony’s is not one of them.
