Thank you to all of the team at Anthony Quirk & Co. The guidance and support Chris, Georgia and the team gave to us on the sale of my late Mum's home was given with empathy and sensitivity. Chris listened and understood our thoughts and feelings on the sale and made sure this was reflected in the potential buyers that came to view on the open day. We would recommend their services to anyone needing a professional, reliable, trustworthy, family run, Estate Agents.

Excellent service, no lies or hidden agendas, made me feel at ease. Totally trustworthy and impressed so far, kept up to date and no pressure to put my property on the market or to make me feel like waisting their time. Recommend all day long.

First of all we got recommended by our friend who sold through AQ. Great support from Chris and Reece. Updated regularly from our chain and was great to hear the process as it was happening. Couldn’t recommend these guys enough!!!

Quirk keep asking us to post a review, so here it is!

We didn’t use AQ for our sale we used Poyntz as our mortgage brokeris there but the home we purchased was sold by them. This is our experience.

- The fact we chose Poyntz was held over us & we were constantly reminded how we “didn’t choose them” & we felt penalised

- It became very difficult to view Quirk properties even if we called immediately after the property launch we would not hear for hours/days. They didn’t respect the fact we worked Saturdays which was ironic as the agents did too

- Once when we viewed a AQ property the sellers had already decided to accept an offer from someone who had turned up on the doorstep before the open day but AQ done the open day anyway. This wasn’t fair as we were denied the chance to see it sooner & would have made a similar offer. Rico did not deter us turning up on doorsteps ourselves

- When we viewed our future home with AQ Ryan made it very clear that our offer was about to be accepted but we were outbid at the last second. AQ said there was a “gulf” between these offers. A few weeks later the property appeared on Rightmove with a note saying sold STC. When we rang Quirk’s with concern that it had become available & then sold without our knowledge AQ said it was the same buyer who out-bid us. The buyers told us that in fact AQ had got a new buyer without telling us it was available & the sellers had no idea we were still interested & opted to go with us straight away. They also said there wasn’t a “gulf” between our offer & the offer we were outbid by ; AQ encouraged them to take the other offer even though the chain was longer as it was a chain of AQ properties

- As we turned up at the property to speak to the sellers (who we met before) Rico called my husband a hypocrite

- Once our offer was accepted it took 5 months for the vendors to find an onward purchase which was the end of the chain but AQ asked us for more money stating their clients wanted £370k when it was listed for offers over £340k. Rico saoid to ask our buyers for more money! We slightly increased our offer out of fear they would re-market the property

- Our buyers told us Rico had tried to convince them to not buy our property but to buy an AQ property. This would have disrupted the whole chain & could have jeopardised their clients chances of securing an onward purchase. This was a really upsetting & made us feel AQ were working against us

- Georgia said this was moving “quicker than expected” although we marketed our home in January, sold in March, had our offer accepted in May & the vendors secured their property in October. January completion is not quick even for the vacant probate property at the top of the chain

- On completion day Ryan called at 12:30 to say we had completed & the sellers had until 2pm to hand the keys in. At 2pm we went into AQ to find no estate agents & no keys. Around 3pm the mortgage broker told us Ryan said they were on their way with the keys but they were still loading the van. Anthony suggested we do a direct key transfer but didn't tell their clients. Not a single estate agent nor Georgia was in the office on completion day which was ridiculous; they were 1 1/2 hours late vacating & it was almost impossible for us or our solicitor to get hold of an agent. Rico’s explanation for the late vacate was that “some people have more stuff than others” which is unacceptable when the contract stipulates 2pm & Ryan told us they had until 2pm at the latest. There was no apology or understanding

- All keys should have been handed in Friday 21st by 2pm but we didn’t get the other key until Saturday 22nd at 6pm! No apology or understanding from Rico but he asked us to leave a review! The house was left filthy with a mountain of rubbish & AQ were unfussed

Estate agents are meant to help you buy a home. Quirk have made it extremely difficult to buy our home & that’s the easiest way I can put it. The reason we did not take this further during the process is because we were afraid AQ would line up another buyer for our home.

I recommend this estate agent, experience and very helpful team.

There really cannot be a better estate agency on Canvey Island!
NOTHING is too much trouble for these guys.

I had just sold my property and was keen to look a various properties in the Canvey Island area.
Most agencies you would call never get through or if you every did manage to leave a message you would not be contacted back.
Virtually every property listed would be sold but not removed or changed to sold.
I was running out of ideas getting fed up and really felt I was going around in circles thinking I would lose my buyer.

One evening way after office hours I called Anthony Quirks and a lovely lady called Lenny answered.
There was a property that I really wanted to view and quickly.
It had an open day booked but for when I was working so I would not of been able to get there.
I was in a very strong buying position and she listened and understood this.
She managed to get the seller to allow me to look before the open day.
Lenny also assisted with recommending a solicitor for the conveyancing who was fantastic.

Ryan showed me around and was a really lovely honest guy.
I do not know the area very well and he was full of helpful knowledge.
I loved the property and we managed to agree to purchase.

A lady called Georgia was my point of call and this lady is totally amazing and could not of done any more than she did.
The actually buying process was delayed due to probate being required but to allow my buyer to proceed with purchasing it was all agreed that I could temporally rent the property.
I found all the delays frustrating and the actual purchase took over 6 months.
Thankfully Anthony Quirks made all this much easier than it could have been.

I work in sales myself and have very high standards, Anthony Quirks went above and beyond in everything they did for me.

I hope you all have a fantastic 2022 and keep on obtaining listings and sell lots.

From the initial visit when Chris came to take pictures to the moment we completed on our sale, the team at AQ were professional and aimed to achieve good value for money on our property. Georgia, Ryan & Rico were all very helpful, keeping in contact and quickly informing us of offers, sales progress and communication from buyers, solicitors etc, so we always knew what stage we were at. We had a very bumpy ride, losing out on two houses and losing a buyer in the process but they were happy to go again each time and we got there in the end!

Everybody at AQ were amazing from start to finish, we sold and brought through them and can not praise their patience , understanding and kindness at all. If it wasn't for them I would have given up .... they knew what we needed and wanted before we did and found our new home which is something we would have overlooked if on rightmove because it was a bungalow but ticked nearly every box for what we needed. I am forever grateful for everybody's hard work but Ryan especially who handled everything with positivity and kindness. The whole team were brilliant and I don't think any words I type will do them justice.

Where to begin, myself and my partner met the Anthony Quirks team back in July this year when they advertised our dream ‘first home’.

From the first phone call I had with Rico I was made to feel so comfortable and at ease.
Which was was such a breath of fresh air compare to all the other estate agents I had called when enquiring about other properties.

Everyone else I had spoken to previously had been so pushy or as soon as I mentioned being a ‘first time buyer’ I was made to feel like I wasn’t really being taken seriously.

We got booked in to view the property a couple of days later and put our offer in.
Unfortunately another offer got accepted, but again unlike other estate agents we wasn’t left in the dark.

Chris went out of his way to contact us the same evening and let us know. So we knew where we was at and could start searching again immediately.

Luckily another property came onto the market which our offer was accepted on.

This is where we met Georgia.
Who really does deserve a special recognition.
She has been amazing.
She really is a credit to the company, she has been at the end of the phone and there answering our endless questions.

Unfortunately a few weeks later due to unforeseen circumstances the property we put our offer on had to come off of the market.
As you can imagine we was heartbroken and so stressed.
Georgia and all the team were so supportive and reassuring.
They reassured us both that she would do their upmost to find us another property.

Call it fate but that very day that the property fell through Georgia was like a fairy god mother and called us with the best news we could have wished for.

The original property we put an offer in on had come back onto the market and we was asked if we was still interested.
Of course we jumped at the chance and our offer was accepted.

From that moment we have been given so much support, advice and reassurance.
Because of what happened with the other property falling through we had trust issues for a good couple of months.
We must have got on Georgia’s nerves asking her for updates every other day haha.
But she always made time for us.

As first time buyers we didn’t really know where to start, we didn’t even have solicitors in place. The team were so helpful and sent us over a number of different companies that they knew of to help us out. Nothing was ever too much.

The last few months working alongside the Anthony Quirks team has been a pleasure. Even in the most stressful times the team have remained so professional and helpful.
Myself and my partner both said how were actually going to miss speaking with them everyday.

Their amazing teamwork and sense of ‘family’ really shows. I would highly recommend anyone who is looking to sell their property or even buy a property to go straight to Quirks.
