The CNC Kickstart Course (Andy Bird)
"I want to give a heads-up to anyone considering the Andy Bird 'CNC Kickstart' course. I’ve been pretty let down by it, especially compared to Kyle Ely’s Learn Your CNC, which I’d highly recommend instead. I don't even have my CNC machine yet, but after following Kyle’s VCarve Pro course, I can tell you that Andy’s content is seriously lacking in professionalism.
There are still 'coming soon' placeholders, and I’ve run into several broken links to document and information. The support is non-existent; I’ve sent emails to his support address and haven't had a single reply. Unlike Kyle’s course, there’s no way to leave a comment under the lessons and see if other students have run into the same issue or answered the problem at hand, so you’re basically on your own if you get stuck.
The actual content is questionable in places too. There’s a section where he has Broinwood on to make a face grain inlay board, and Andy honestly sounds like he doesn't know what he's talking about. You don’t even get to see a close-up of the finished board at the end, which is a total joke since he even mentions having chip-out while facing the plug off the board. Why pay for a course if they won't show you the final result and all that can go wrong on a project that had issues?
What’s really annoying is the spam. Almost immediately after joining, I started getting hounded with emails to join his monthly membership, 'The Side Hustle.' I’m not even through the basics of the first course yet, and I’m already being pressured for more money with those 'buy now before the price goes up' tactics.
At this point, it feels like the course is just another 'side hustle' for your money rather than a professional training program. If you want to actually learn, stick with Kyle Ely." There is absolutely nothing in this course that is not already available on YouTube for free. Also, there is nowhere on the internet review websites that are showing the reviews that appear at the bottom of his long sales page, this makes me feel that they are simply curated reviews!
