4 weeks after AMIGOAUTOS did not turn up at Bilbao airport at the agreed time (despite waiting for over 2 hours), W HAVE STILL NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE, let alone a refund for a car they failed to provide us with (despite the fact we paid upfront and during the two hours waiting for them to be at the agreed pick up location and calling their premium rate calls, spending e30). I have also emailed the email they have provided me on here and still not received even the courtesy of a response. This is my fourth time writing on here in the hope they actually reply and hopefully refund our money for the service they did not provide us with. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
If you are looking for an horrible experience you can rent a car with AmigoAutos.
They tried to charge me for 3 damages there were already there (fortunately I have a video from the day I rented the car and in it it was clear the damages).
One of the damages was not so clear in the video because of the sunlight when recording and they just charged me 260€ for a 3cm scratch that I did not make!!!
Besides that, I have never received the rental contract showing the damages on the day I rented.
Don´t go there! They offer "cheap" rental prices but they will make money charging you on damages that were already there!

Despite concerns from reading other reviews this was an excellent car rental experience. The Ibiza pickup office is a bit far from the airport but the return is really close. Everything is online so ensure the staff have your correct email address otherwise you’ll be driving around without documents. Yes, the cars are a bit scratched but they’re affordable and great for some of Ibiza’s non-paved roads. The car was also equipped with all the bells and whistles so navigation was a breeze. The staff at both locations were friendly and non-pushy. We didn’t have to wait long in either place. And the shuttle driver is lovely! Definitely recommend for renting a car in Ibiza in winter.

Awful experience. Arrived at there car hire depot at 9.30pm ( closes at 11pm ) . 1 person serving customers very slowly. You had to take a number and wait. After over an hour and 3 customers seen ( 14 in front of us ) we decided to take amigo autos up on there offer of paying 18 euros to skip the queue. We completed the paperwork ( we had paid upfront and taken premium insurance so we didn't have to leave the 1,500 euro deposit) . After completing the paperwork we were informed we still had to pay 150 euro deposit via credit card. This had been nowhere in our booking confirmation or paperwork emailed to us. We had already changed our money and come with cash. This left us standing outside there office in an industrial estate at 11pm. We had to get a taxi to our apartment (70 euros). We had planned to explore the local area and had it all mapped out. Instead we are now stuck in our apartment having paid for a car we don't have , blown another 70 euros on a taxi and still have to budget for getting back to the airport. Thank you amigo autos for ruining our holiday

When we got there we had to take a ticket to wait to pick up our car (the office was packed full of people waiting) - we were number 94 and waited for over 2 hours. This wasted most of the first day of our holiday and saved us about £30 from booking one of the mainstream car hire places - Never ever again!!!!

Having read the appalling reviews on here, I thought I'd offer a bit of balance. We booked a car before arriving at Menorca Airport. The shuttle bus took us very efficiently to the office, where we were attended to immediately, given our keys and went to pick up the car. I checked the exterior, which was perfect, and the interior which had a few marks on the seats so told them in the office. The car was great, we returned it full, had it checked over, which they said was fine, we've had our deposit refund. Would use them again without hesitation.
We've booked with local hire companies like these several times in Spain and islands, and heard horror stories at all, but never had any problem with any of them - the rules are always the same - if you want to take the risk with damage, take the risk, check the car thoroughly and hope you don't prang anything. If you don't want the risk, get the extra protection, but get it before you go, it's usually cheaper.
We were very happy with Amigo Autos (and Ok Rent A Car, as it appears it's basically the same company.)

Santiago Airport. Received a dirty car, the initially sheet had one small scratch on it. The car had scratches and bumps all over it. Got the operative to agree a new damage sheet which we both signed. When returning the car they claimed damage, that we had already marked on the sheet. They are criminals. I refused to sign their damage sheet but took a picture of it. They charged £340 to my credit card, for what they claim was a scratch. I have received no email or confirmation of what this ridiculously high charge is for. They're crooks, don't go anywhere near them. THEY OPERATE UNDER OK Rent A Car too

Appalling from start to finish. I had to pay more for a car as they didn't have the one we booked. The car we took was smaller than the one we'd booked but we still had to pay extra. They then charged a small fortune for a full tank of fuel. When we returned it half full, they gave about 10% back of the cost that they charged us.
Never again!!

When collecting my rental car from the Alicante airport site, my wife and I pointed out the dozen or so areas of damage that we could see around the car to the amigo autos representative who noted on the collection form what we pointed out.
Upon returning the car at the end of my holiday, the check in guy, without even the most cursory glance around the car, went straight to the front and identified a very small damage to the valence under the bumper, which could not be seen whilst standing up and I had clearly missed on pick up as, not being as young as I was, I did not crawl around on my hands and knees. By going straight to it without inspection, they demonstrated blatantly that they knew the damage was there previously, but because it couldn't be seen, I had missed it on my collection check. I was charged 360 Euros plus taxes and admin fees, totalling 496.75 Euros for this and consider it to be deliberate FRAUD.
In the old days, bandits who robbed you had the decency to be honest about it, wear a mask and use a gun. These people use paperwork and then have the "law" on their side.
I will definitely never hire a car again in Spain and will probably go somewhere else for my holidays in future as the authorities allow people like this to be in business, ripping off tourists.

Having just read the review by Russell Ball, dated 6 July for the Nissan Micra he hired - I wonder if it was the same damage as on the Nissan Micra I hired... it is the same make and model car with same damage in the same place and the same tactic. I wonder how many times they have caught customers with this...

Avoid this company at all costs!
I have never seen such an abysmal bunch of sharks in my entire life. Having arrived at Alicante at 11.30, they spent an hour processing the 3 people in the queue in front of me. When I finally got served, I was told there was an additional 50 to pay as the pick up time was out of normal hours. They also charged me 78 euros for a tank of diesel, on a Nissan Micra! A full tank would be around 45.I was told to inspect the car for any damage, in the pitch dark as they don’t have adequate lighting. A bit disgruntled at this point, but I go over every visible surface and mark the sheet. On returning the car the inspection guy walks round it and without even bending down, points to underneath the bumper and says there’s damage there. Please note, you could not see this damage unless you were on your hands and knees with your cheek on the ground.
They then go on to charge me €360 euros for the damage. You can argue all you want, but they already take €900 euros off you when you hire the car. This is on top of the fact there is no possible way I could have done this damage.
Do yourself a favour, go with any other company than Amigo Autos or there dodgy cohorts OK rent a car.

I feel sorry for the few employees that are here, who are doing the best they can, but this whole experience is completely unacceptable.

Used for Ibiza airport (off airport) No one in office to serve us so had to use main OK car hire office. This place is a joke! Had to take a ticket to be served. Our number was no 59 and the counter was only showing number 26. Each person took around 30 minutes to serve! Probably due to the extra astronomical insurances that it was trying to sell.
After 2 1/2 wait (had 2 children with me) we were finally served. Didn’t get the 7 seater car that we requested instead it was a 9 seater Peugeot van which was way too large for some of the Ibizan beach roads which we used. Also the car was very dirty which I think is a ploy so as not to show up all the dents and scratches. We moved the van to a lit up area and photographed the damage before we took away.
Finally pulled away at 2 am, 2 1/2 hours after arriving at amigo autos. Disgraceful!
Seriously disinterested staff at ok rental but then at least they were there unlike amigos autos.

thieves? would be zero stars if possible. i booked car online . on my booking it said car was on site at airport (it wasnt) but it wasnt too far a journey in the mini bus away so not the end of the world. arrived at car station, NOBODY there from amigo autos to serve me. 20/30 min of standing around later , i was greeted by the most unhelpful/miserable man ive ever met. i asked for assistance and was told to wait (whilst he openly sat and did nothing for 20 mins or more) so i stood.. eventually he served me, i paid, and was shown to my car (not the car i ordered but again hey ho) ...... CAR WAS FILTHY DIRTY. inside and out . i complained about state of car and was told he could take it to be washed, but i would have to wait an hour? when i said that the service wasnt good enough, the worker became threatening and aggressive. i asked for a refund/cancellation and was told it wasnt possible in person and to do it via phone/email. their employee continued to stare at his PC screen, ignoring me as though i wasnt there.
i had to leave amigo autos and hire a car from the company next door . leaving my amigo autos rental in the same spot it had been the whole time. i didnt even put the key in the car.
amigo autos are now ignoring my (numerous) emails and there is no sign of my refund. when i call them (and sit on hold for forever at a time ) they tell me they will answer me via email. it has been 1 month now since my attempted car rental.
amigo autos are thieves - taking and holding money for a service they HAVENT PROVIDED - and their staff unbelievably rude,.
to amigo autos : if you want me to remove this review, please respond to one of my emails. you should be able to find one as there are about 30 of them.

Very very poor service. 1 hour wait for the shuttle at Valencia airport, followed by a 90 minutes wait for the car at the depot. It wasn’t even busy. Won’t be using again.

I had a really bad experience. I used to rent a car for a few years with this company but never more.
I waited 2 hours for the car, after that I had to paid the gasoil (this is normal) and an extra charge or have a deposit.
Finally we didn't take the car because the real final price was really high.
For 5 euros more my advice is go with other company.
