They respond with great delay to questions or emails.. I've lost one order until the response (order closed).

Stupidity shipping cost
Stupidity shipping cost
Buy 5$ small figure and shipping cost is 5 times the figure
Highly don't recommend this
Money hungry business
I would give them 0 stars if i can.
I've been a long term customer and they've treated me poorly on multiple occasions but I've had enough and looks like I'm not the only one
This company clearly has terrible business practices and they really dont care about their customers.
I started ordering from amiami since 2015 and they were great. I had no issues with them until the covid period.
I've had many preorders in the past with amiami, a lot of preorders got delayed and oddly enough most of my preorders were released during covid. Understandably it's not within amiamis control.
During covid, the only shipping method they had was DHL, costing me anywhere from 150aud to 250aud.
Before the lockdown happened I already paid for one figure with air small parcel which they happily took my money but left my item unshipped. After waiting for 2 months, I had to be the one to reach out ask about the parcel before they inform me that they were only doing DHL at the time. So I had to pay the difference, which I did.
Eventually my delayed preorders were being released every 2nd week, meaning I had to fork out hundreds of dollars for each of my preorder with DHL. Yes I could have tried to combine shipping but there were no telling when my delayed preorders were coming out, no dates.
And yes, I'm aware that I need to commit to my preorders, but this was 2 years worth of preorders all being released during covid, while I was out of work. Had I known that my figures were all going to be released on these dates, and that it would all be shipped with DHL I wouldve budgeted a bit more carefully.
Paying up to thousands just on DHL in total, I emailed amiami requesting to cancel some of my future preorders which they declined. They told me that cancelling my preorders will result in a ban of my account.
I was stupid and naive, wanting to have a good track record with amiami so I bit the bullet and continued to pay for everything. And just ended things there.
Fast forward to last year I started making purchases from amiami again. I've bought a few figurines from them, however my most recently transaction was the final straw. The parcel was shipped but never arrived, I emailed amiami asking them to track the parcel as it was registered, they tell me that the tracking only tracks in Japan and once it's out of the country it doesn't track anymore, so they will open an investigation. One week later they emailed informing that my parcel has been returned to them as it was unclaimed in my country. I never received any updates or information regarding my parcel needing to be picked up at all. With absolutely no records of it being in my country at all, I dont even know if it ever left Japan...
So, amiami gave me 2 option
1. Partial refund
2. Pay to be reshipped
I paid to be reshipped, the money went through, and then. They closed my account, claiming that there is another account with overlapping information.... my guess is the address, I've only moved to my new home in 2023, and I refuse to go out of my way to find the previous owner of my home to sort out this amiami mess. It frustrates me that I've made purchases to my new home without issues then suddenly they closed it, taking my payment with them.
Their email states that everything in this account is now deleted, implying that they won't be shipping my parcel nor refunding what I've paid for.
I don't understand how this business is still running, my joyous hobby of collecting has turned into a nightmare of anxiety everytime I get an email from amiami. It feels like I've done something wrong or they want more money from me.
I'm done with this company, i dont care if they ban me, im filing for chargeback dispute with my bank. They're not worth the headache...
I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
They entice you with competitive prices only for you to find out after committing the purchase that shipping will cost you so much more, more than their competitors. Sure, you can email them with your desired items and request for shipping cost, but they are slow with their reply which means buying from ami ami can take up to 2 weeks before they even ship your parcel out.
Mind you, if your parcel is lost in transit you will only get a partial refund too. Customer service will deliberately provide non-answers and will give you attitude if you dare try to ask for clarification.
Never had a problem
Never had a problem, ordered dozens and dozens of figures. During the mail strike, literally held the toys for me until strike was over so I didn't have to over pay for DHL.
Always pay your orders when they come up, don't be rude, and they will take care of you.
Even had an issue with a single faceplate for a figure, and they had DHL come pick it up from my place and sent a replacement. After that experience, I don't have a single bad thing to say.
Very helpful staff
Very helpful staff, figure is always handled with care, great quality figure
Good experience
My experience with AmiAmi was good. I bought an older BINDing figure from them that was listed as C grade but was in fact brand new in the box. They are good for pre-orders and their shipping costs are quite reasonable. I have since made a couple more orders with them.
closed account for missing T-shirt order lol
closed my account for missing a T-shirt order. I ordered probably 10-15k worth of figures and merch here over years. Refuse to re-open my account. Very archaic and outdated company. The kind of company which gives Japanese companies such a global bad reputation for having archaic and outdated policies. Ridiculous. I will stick to sites like TOM going forward. Not that I have a choice. However, I'd already been using amiami less as they aren't as worth it anymore. Tom/GSC/and other sites are usually cheaper now once you factor in shipping.
Literally got banned for not seeing the…
Literally got banned for not seeing the email where they requested for me to pay for an order which I would have paid for if I saw the email THEY NEVER SENT. I tried to explain the situation and instead they were so extremely rude and left me on read and refused to reinstate my account. I was a loyal costumer who paid tens of thousands of euros to them and yet I got treated like trash.
Avoid at all cost, amiami is not worth it. If they banned me after I’ve been a loyal costumer who always paid on time for years then they will ban you permanently for less and they will be rude to your face. Choose their competitors instead because at least the competitors of amiami won’t treat you horrible or ban you with no mercy
pre-order Items arrived safely
pre-order Items arrived within the expected shipping time i selected and where well packaged. probably excessive packaging but no chance it would get damaged.
The website ordering system is still difficult to use, with shipping options and costs not always visible until you request them.
for pre-orders they don't charge you until its in stock. which is fine as long as you remember that 12 months ago you pre-ordered something and have the funds in stock. Also means that you can pre-order something and the price might fluctuate based on the price of the Yen (which in this case i think meant i ended up paying less?) .
Freaks
Close my account after many successful orders and cjsuk it's difficult to do. Business
Buchan of freaks
On time, well-packaged, as described
My purchase from the UK. 13 days from placing order to delivery:
- Order placed for "In Stock" items on Thursday 14/11/2024 in the morning
- Shipping cost confirmed (registered small air parcel) and payment requested on Friday 15/11/2024 in the morning, paid
- Payment confirmed and order shipped on Tuesday 19/11/2024 in the morning
- Order delivered by Royal Mail Tuesday 26/11/2024 in the morning
Package was in a sturdy, thick-walled cardboard box with a ridiculous amount of packaging paper. Was probably twice as big as it needed to be, but I guess I'd rather have it too big and well-protected. All items inside were in excellent condition and undamaged.
Considering other negative reviews:
- Customer service (everything went smoothly for me, so didn't have to contact them)
- Pricing (make sure to shop around for the best prices)
- Website downtime (the website was down at times due to high traffic, a little annoying, hence 1 star removed)
- Having to wait for shipping costs confirmation after placing the order (a slight inconvenience, but nothing major)
Otherwise make sure you are aware of extra UK import fees (VAT/Customs Duty) when buying more than £135 worth of goods. I've heard you can get lucky and sometimes not need to pay VAT, but be prepared to pay nonetheless. I didn't in this case as mine was £135 and less.
Also pay attention to the estimated shipping delivery time (surface takes a lot longer than air).
Good overall, but not perfect.
In terms of buying and receiving the parcels, I've never had an issue with them.
Only giving 3 stars, because I do find their customer support to be unfriendly at times.
I also find their store very overpriced compared to others in terms of pre-orders (BIJ, Hobby Genki, HLJ). Though I think it's because other stores remove Japanese tax, while AmiAmi decides to keep it.
Another downside, is that if you are living with a partner who also collects anime merch, you can't buy any surprise presents for each other as AmiAmi will ban accounts that use the same address.
Other than this, if you want to order something from there, then it should be considered safe.
Mixed feelings, probably the best japanese seller but with conditions
I have mixed feelings about this website.
On one hand, it's the cheapest website to get japanese products with a reliable and fast delivery.
On the other hand, the support is pretty bad, responding quite slowly (~24h business days), and you'll have to do all the efforts to get a refund if something goes bad.
I ordered 23 times on Amiami.com in about 3 years, and I had 2 delivery that occurred issues:
- One product was defective, and they did want me to pay everything back to them before refunding me.
I know they'll don't trust you if you don't send enough proof, what I can recommend is recording every opening you do from Amiami. They can't deny to be in fault if you record how you opened your product. They told me to do that, and it worked for me.
- The other one had an address issue and they didn't want to give me back my money, I did get back my money at one point but they did not help me at any point (And I did harass them about it in about 20 mails). I received my money by calling the delivery service in my country.
If it is the cheapest way to get japanese products in EU, they are quite dishonnest about the prices.
Most of the things you will buy on Amiami are preorders and for them, you'll firstly have the product's price which is shown when you reserve a product.
After waiting a few months, they'll send you an email telling you to finally pay the product + shipping cost in 7 days whatever price is your product. (This shipping cost never appearing before this mail, except with a "to be determined").
And when your product comes to your country, you'll have to pay custom taxes with a really suspicious SMS which happens to be real everytime, which can be really expensive.
All these informations can be found in the website if you search "deeply" but they're not told to you easily while it adds 80%€ on your initial price. I would love to have them be honest and estimate this final price at the start.
Summary:
- Most variety and cheapest way to get japanese products from Japan to EU.
- Bad and slow support
- Remember you'll have to pay delivery service and custom taxes at one point.
- Record every package you open from Amiami, as it'll be hard to be refunded or get your product replaced without this proof.
Heavily negative expirience here
Heavily negative expirience here.
If you want to get some good old anxiety and stress, AmiAmi will provide it to you.
They don't care if you are a loyal one or a long-time customer.
They don't care if you pay for all the orders in time, don't cancel and buy a lot.
They don't care if their policies are extremely inconvenient and rigorously harsh.
They don't care.
Their english support team is the worst in the entirety of the worst shops, simular to the currently deceased Nippon-Yasan.
Don't even start doing any business with them, avoid at any costs. The eventual negativity and ban on a whim will follow up eventually, no matter what. They just need a convenient occasion.
IF you do, use them without any attachment and put more value into other simular shops.
AmiAmi doesn't deserve your money and efforts, only the heaviest competition.

They constantly refuse downsizing the parcel size. Won't let me use surface parcel. They charge over 11k to ship a 1/4 scale. Not worth.
My preorder had change release date two…
My preorder had change release date two times! And this time round my preorder never ship out and still show Oct 2024. Saw other have receive their figuart bought for other website. So I try the customer support and they just reply this (Hello,
These decisions are made by management and the manufacturer. As such, we have no say.) so what can I say? This call customer support? Very disappointed!!!
Delivered faster than I expected…
Delivered faster than I expected (registered small air parcel), it was also packaged very nicely and arrived safely.

Not perfect, but probably the best in JP
I'm a customer of Amiami for 4 years and never had a serious problem with them. 25 orders shipped and received undamaged, most of them via surface.
Yes you won't know the shipping cost before the invoice comes, but at least you see the exact shipping cost and can then choose how to ship. If you order more often, you can get a feel on how much it will be. Other shops will give you a quote beforehand, then when the final invoice is there and 2 weeks later when the package is about to ship will ask for 20€ more. Only AA and Solaris will give you a single quote and keept it at that, afaik.
If you'll ever need to get a replacement, you will need to be patient, as the replacement will take the same shipping options as the first shipment, there is no other way.
Some packages could be smaller, especially for small parts like key chains, but overall for figures it's good to have more package than needed. I've seen some horrible pictures on reddit and the figures were still ok. And they have plenty of packaging material too, not like Crunchyroll where they'll throw in a tiny paper and call it a day.
The only issue I had was more or less my fault. I wanted to add my mail address on the package but they didn't allow this. Because I noticed the system mails telling me to change it back too late, one order was cancelled. I asked them if there was any posibility at all to get my mail on the package and they said no. With DHL I can get status notifications to my phone for packages and mail, but only if my mail is on it. The normal package status for international packages is pretty bad, but that's DHLs fault.
Great Company
Good communication with emails and have not had any issues so far over many orders. All my orders have arrived safely and well packaged, in expected condition. Even second-hand items I've bought have been in better condition than expected. My only issue is I do wish they'd give their website an upgrade. I'd like to be able to get notifications for stock of certain items etc. I also find their pre-order system convenient as they don't charge straight away and only charge on release so this is great for planning ahead/budgeting.
Anime Collectors Mecca
One of, if not the biggest name in anime figures/goods worldwide. Nine times out of ten, they'll have the latest releases available (every so often they'll sell something only in Japan and not on the global store, but this isn't too common). Customer service has been excellent over the years I've used them as well (just be sure to keep note of time zone differences, and make sure there's no holiday going on in Japan when you contact them). Biggest issues holding back a five star review is that they don't give an option for up-front payment for pre-orders; you can only pay when a pre-order releases (though this has largely been a good thing for me since the value of JPY has slowly and steadily dropped; they also are far from the only anime goods store to follow this policy). There are stores out there that will give you the option, which helps more hardcore collectors with budgeting. Their site also sometimes behaves rather wonky and can be unstable. There have been times where I can browse the store with no problems on my phone, but I'll get an error saying the site is too busy on my PC when trying to browse the same things.
