I‘m very satisfied with my experience with American Tourister/Samsonite.
The carry on handles on my large American Tourister Soundbox Spinner broke off. I was at fault, I overloaded the suitcase quite a bit and the handles broke off. First the one at the top, next to the telescope handle, and then the one at the side.
My suitcase is from 2018 and served me flawlessly so far.
Once I made an account on the Parts & Services website for AT/Samsonite, they showed me where I can find the serial number of my suitcase. Typed in the number, selected the parts, was quite happy that they were available in the original Golden Yellow color.
I paid a little under 18€ for two repair sets of handles, including two additional full sets of screws with an Allen key. 4,99€ shipping is included in the 18€ price I quoted.
The repair was quick and the suitcase is back in use.
I am very grateful for the parts service! It extended the life of a perfectly good suitcase!
Same experience look amazing but poor quality- Zips burst on 2 of these 3 in the set - on my third trip - I only go away once a year so not heavily used - I didn’t use the largest one is probably the sole reason why that’s still in tact !

Terrible customer service!
For a cabin baggage of this price I do not expect the handle to break! Mid trip too! The bag hasn’t been used frequently, the handles are obviously cheap.
You can’t get through to customer service!
Very poor quality product for a very high price with absolutely terrible service!
Do not buy these cases!

I've bought a luggage set of 2 American Tourister cases 5 years ago. I won't mention that I was happy with them for that time. My disappointment was when after this period of usage the telescopic handle on one case broke. This model is not produced anymore and I realized that for one handle I have to buy whole set again, to have matching cases.
It appeared that the Amerucab Tourister support covers such pity situations. Yes it was not a guarantee, but for the fair price I was able to order a new handle and replace it on my own in 30 minutes.
Instant satisfaction of buying a new cases is nothing to compare with the relief and satisfaction when my favorite case is alive again!!!
Ì was given à new American Tourister as a special birthday gift by my sister. This is the first time I have used it and am on holiday in Bali. It has cracked on the top and split. It's not even a year old. I am searching for masking tape to hold it together till I get back to Australia. I'm elderly and very stressed about its durability.

They won't send me a handle. The unit is under warranty but they stated they could not send me the handle. I had to take it to one of the repair shops. The closest is 33 miles away. a simple little handle held on by 4 simple little screws and they won't send me the handle directly. I will never buy an American Tourister product again and I will never recommend their products. BTW, it is only four years old and the handle breaks

The customer service of American Tourist was outstanding! I needed the suitcase urgently, as it was a gift and they did everything they could to make this possible - they really went above and beyond and I truly appreciate it. Many thanks again!

We tried to claim Guarantee for repairing broken of plastic part of extractable handle, at first company claimed that they no longer have the part for repair. then just refused to accept that it is the cheap materials, not suited for purpose used, and claimed it is from "external mechanical influences". It was quite expensive carry on suitcase. Nothing to distinguish from cheaper no name suitcases. Either way it goes into trash after couple of years of use.

I bought an American Tourister Hyper Breeze Medium (26”) suitcase from Frasers in Sheffield on the 7th October last year after problems with my previous cheaper case. It was on sale so a reasonable price or so I thought but I was very wrong I have only used this case for 2 trips and it hasn’t even lasted that as the ‘tyres’ on the wheels on one side are completely shredded meaning you can’t push it as you should be able to. I’ve seen other reviews saying this exact same thing was an issue with theirs but unfortunately didn’t see them until after I bought it. It’s a complete waste of money I could have bought a ‘cheapie’ brand and got more use out of it. Also I don’t know if this down to Frasers but there was no warranty card in this case so I can’t find out if there are parts available. I took it back to Frasers today but as it’s just over 7 months they won’t help as both their company policy and the sale of goods act only cover to 6 months. I will never buy another from this brand they aren’t fit for purpose.

Telescoping handle broken on 20 inch suitcase. Emailed for warranty replacmenet parts. Customer service states no parts available yet they want me to send this to a repair center that "can order parts"
After questioning why the repair center has access to parts when everyone else does not i was told thst I could wait 6-8 weeks and try again to see of they have parts in stock.
The warranty is not worth the paper it is written on. Generic replacements for handles are available all over the internet. This appears to be a way to create an onerous process to return a suitcase so that consumers replace the bag.
Sent the email requestd on April 30th. No reply even after the company sent the reply below. Just placation by a company in an attempt to delay.

Brand new suitcase, went to zip it shut and the zips end up at the back of the lid. It is impossible to secure and flying today. How can you get the zips the wrong way round?

The worse ever quality, the suitcase broke after one travel. N plastic used to make suitcase is very poor.
Will not recommend anyone to buy it

I deeply regret purchasing American Tourister suitcases. I expected a well-respected, high-quality brand, but the reality was far from it. After just one flight, my check-in luggage suffered a snapped telescopic handle, cracks in the body, and a broken zipper inside the interior pocket. The quality is shockingly poor—cheaply made and clearly not designed to last.
Worse than the product is the customer service nightmare. I’ve spent nine months trying to get a response, sending emails across multiple regions while traveling. When I finally received a reply to my most recent email after a month, they simply transferred my case to another team—each transfer taking another month. After all this time on a goose chase, I’ve lost the original invoice from the NZ based retailer I purchased from, but still have my bank statement as proof of purchase. Despite explaining that I urgently need a resolution before my upcoming flight in five days, they have failed to assist me.
This company’s service is absolutely unacceptable. It seems like a clear violation of consumer rights, as the product is not fit for purpose, and their warranty claims process is practically non-functional. American Tourister is not the premium brand they claim to be—avoid them at all costs.
UPDATE:
To clarify, the damage occured during one overseas trip, i.e. during the departure from my home country, to my destination hotel.
In my most recent email I spoke to Brianna.

Have had my American Tourister bag for about 2 years and have used more than 6 times internationally. Standard sized max 23 kg bag. Top handle broke on the second trip and the side handle just snapped today. Material is incorrect for purpose and very poor quality.
Do not buy these bags if you want it to last.

Very expensive suitcase bought for quality and durability. Very disappointed in the materials feels very weak and plastic like.
Recently on holiday and have only used the suitcase twice to having a crack/ slit across the front. We contacted customer service who from the emails we got the feeling they were blaming everyone else on the damage.
We returned the suitcase to Samsonite (costing us £15). Just received the suitcase back to say ‘’ repair not possible no parts not a warranty issue ‘’
So disappointed to have a nearly new suitcase returned back to us in the same way we sent it to Samsonite.
We just purchased another suitcase for my daughter’s birthday and am now regretting this.
I do not recommend buying this brand if you are looking for quality long term luggage.

The cabin sized suitcase broke after 3 months. It was only used twice as cabin luggage, not in the hold . The metal tag on the zipper broke. The lower front of the suitcase split and we had to use sticky tape over the split. Now, the handle won't retract fully. .. I have proof of receipt, price cost 130 euro. . I have e mailed American Tourister and await their reply. I will follow up this review when I hear from them. I hope it's positive and that they wither refund or send me a new proper bag in return.

Poor quality - not worth the price
I just bought an American Tourist Air Comfort Plus bag just a month ago, and it's already broken. Despite the high price, the quality is very disappointing. The material feels weak, and it does not live according to the brand's reputation. I expect good durability, but this bag is not reliable. I do not recommend buying this brand if you are looking for long -term luggage.
This review makes it honest, clear and constructive when warning other potential buyers ..

I bought an ‘American Tourister Suitcase Pasadena Spinner, Large, 77 cm/ 94 Liters, Blue/Gold 53196/4160’ in March 2015 - 10 years ago!! Since then it has travelled to
- Namibia
- Paris (twice)
- Alaska
- Spain
- Borneo
- Norway
- China
- Tibet
- Ecuador and Galapagos
- Singapore
- Australia
- South Africa
- Canada
- India
Tomorrow it is heading out to Kerala!
All of these trips have been tours with the case being packed and unpacked multiple times and tossed onto trucks, coaches, boats, trains and planes! At every airport, it will have been thrown around and bashed about multiple times without any consideration to its strength or durability. It has been lost and found on several different occasions. It has been filled to bursting several times often requiring it to be sat upon to enable it to be closed.
It is still amazingly solid and intact, albeit a little scuffed and marked.
I absolutely love my American Tourister. It is still solid, robust, light and incredibly easy to manoeuvre on its four still intact wheels. I wouldn’t swap it for any more modern or up-to-date suitcase for anything! It is more like my travel buddy now than a suitcase!
