Over complicated hinge bolts on toilet seat. Stripped them out before they got tight enough. Probably returning the seat before long because it slips around too much. Do better American Standard!... See more

Purchased an American Standard Toilet and it had a curved bottom and rocks like a rocking chair. Contacted Menards and they forwarded me to American Standard. After repeated attempts to contact American Standard they have failed to respond. Down a main bathroom now for over two months. Ridiculous for a $300 purchase.

I had two toilets had went their entire lives without this issue. Calcium build up finally killed them after 30 years. This week, my 13 y/o american standard toilet broke the flush arm. Cheap plastic. I've lived alone for the last 10 years. This is an upstairs toilet! Just poor engineering and cheap parts. Not impressed

Product has a feature for quick removal for cleaning. Because of this feature the seat doesn't sit securely on the bowl. Nothing I can do to fix it. Trash products, do not buy.
0/5 stars
We opened a warranty case with American Standard on March 6, 2026 for a defective toilet. They sent a replacement tank (Order #0000677117), which arrived and did not fit correctly. The bolt alignment was out of tolerance and unusable.
We reported the issue and had to open a second case. A second replacement (Order #0000690546) was sent today (March 19). We have been without a functioning toilet for weeks.
Customer service has only offered to continue sending parts, despite the first replacement fail. When we asked for escalation or a full resolution, we were told there was “nothing they could do.”
This has turned into a multi-week process for a basic household necessity, with no clear resolution in place.
Very disappointing experience. I will NEVER buy another American Standard product again.
Scumbag Company
All the other reviews are accurate. Their toliets are trash and they don’t stand behind their warranrties. This company is absolute SCUM!
American Standard NEVER AGAIN
Purchased 2 American Standard Activate toilets in 2018. Both have failed, products discontinued and tanks need to be replaced. American Standard fails to acknowledge that they put a sub par product to market. I never thought I would be replacing toilets after 8 years!
Poor customer service!
The product is fine but not customer service. I can’t find the part replacement number and I’ve emailed them twice and was assigned case numbers but I never received an answer after that. I tried calling today and after waiting 25 minutes on a hold recording I was finally offered a call back. Two hours later I get a call back and the call was disconnected and instead of call me back I had to go through the whole 25 minute wait again when I called AS back!
Make better product
Make better product. Everything leaks and the lady on the phone said there nothing they can do don't waste your money
I purchased a faucet for a bathroom
I purchased a faucet for a bathroom. The cleaning solution CLR removed the chrome plating. American Standard replaced it 1 time already. The chrome plating is so cheaply done, I am avoiding all their products now.
Old toilet cracks in bowl. New toilet bad tank.
The AS toilet I had for 9 years. Showed cracks in the bowl. Replaced with new AS. Tank on the new would not seal. Pulled it off twice. Replace main discharge gasket from old tank. Came to the conclusion bad casting. Suspect the ruff lip ridge on hole inside and garbage clay left. Looks like the hole was not properly cleaned before casting. Both of these were Champion. Newest being Champion4.
Failed Porcelain Finish on Tub
Purchased an American Standard Tub and the porcelain has deteriorated along the bottom of the tub. A diamond pattern has appeared along with a rough texture.
I followed up with American Standard (twice) and they seemed to have ignored our information and images that were sent along with the request for support. Their customer support said that the rough texture is the non-slip surface??? This is not the case as our tub had a clean porcelain finish when installed - no non-slip texture!
The diamond pattern that has appeared is not a stain. It is clear evidence that the porcelain has failed.
Worst customer service ever
Worst customer service ever! Bought a Vormax toilet 3-4 years ago and worked for about a year without problems and then…
Poor product quality and support
I had 3 american standard standard tub fixtures fail over 3 years. They all went with the exact same issue of the brass valve cracking at the inlet. All caused damage, time and expenses to fix.poor quality product. Customer service didn't even offer to refund me anything for the taps since I didn't have a receipt. A large company that doesn't stand behind their products.
Hvac premature compressor failure
My 2 year old 16 seer hvac system had a compressor failure. The compressor warranty is supposed to be for 12 years but you must register it within 90 days of install. I found this out when I checked their website for warranty info after the failure. I was able to register the unit still but the warranty was reduced to only 5 years. The hvac company that installed the unit didn't disclose this information and should have registered the unit for me. I had to buy the unit from this dealer not from the manufacturer this warranty registration requirement should have been disclosed or done by the hvac dealer that installed the equipment period.
Now for the cherry on top...The compressor is not available for 2 and half months. That's a long time to go without heat or air conditioning. I reported this situation to the manufacturer, American Standard and just got the run around, no help, no mercy, and I still have to pay $1800 labor to replace the compressor that the warranty covers when it eventually delivers. Buyer beware!!!!
I worked out how to get to a live person!
Difficult to get through to them but worked it out in the end. Fill in the online complaint then go to 'chat' early in morning. Lady there was so helpful and I received all the parts I needed under warranty in 5 days.
American standard warranty worthless unless product registration done online. No one informed me registration required.
American standard doesn't stand by their warranties for hvac products. After 5.5 years blower motor failed. They said I was responsible for 825.00 replacement since product wasn't registered online.
I recently bought a bathtub and drain…
I recently bought a bathtub and drain from American standard. The tub drain is a piece of crap. I called the company and she sent me a diagram to fix it myself. I took it apart 5 days after I owned it. As it turns out, the piece that broke is made of plastic. I'm surprised it lasted 5 days. This was a $200.00 piece of junk. Don't buy a American Standard bathtub. I fixed it with a $1.50 plug drain. I'm sure I'm not the first person to experience this. Never again.
American Standard Champion 4…
American Standard Champion 4 Toilet-To-Go ADA Compliant 1.28 gal White Round Complete Toilet
Price: $229.99, is being advertised as being best flusher, but that is a load of sheet. This is the worst flushing toilet that I have ever used. It will not flush the amount and consistency of waist that other, cheaper, off brand toilets will. It is a waist of you money and time. Whit American Standard toilets, you can't even flush your money down the toilet, it will plug up. Avoid at all cost.
Orderd parts for my Vormax toilet 2…
Orderd parts for my Vormax toilet 2 months ago under warranty. This toilet has been leaking for the entire time and I have called customer service and each time they say they will reorder the parts. That hasn't proven to be true, they sent a email saying that the parts were supposedly sent, but the tracking number says a shipping lable was created but the parts were never shipped. I guess since the company was bought out by a Japanese company they don't care about their customers.
