One knife snapped in half

Emailed the company with my knife block my husband was cutting Swede up at Christmas and one of the knives handle snapped in half contacted the firm and they said they needed proof of purchased. We’ve had the knives for 8years so who would keep a receipt for that many years and if you had got it in the drawer, you’re more likely wouldn’t even read it so no help at all so they’re guarantee is worth nothing. you’d think a big firm like this rather than get bad reviews you think they would replace it

Shocking customer service

Shocking customer service, honestly put your money in some other companies pocket. Company policies that do not abide by consumer rights, terrible customer service on the phone, ignorant and down right condasending.

BUY RUSTY RECYCLED RUBBISH AT YOUR OWN PERIL

I bought a pair of scissors. Within months they were rusting. Then the handles went soft as if bending when I was using them.
This is clearly cheap Chinese recycled junk with A RICHARDSONS NAME SLAPPED ON IT !!!
CUSTOMER SERVICES WERE TOTALLY UNHELPFUL AND DISMISSIVE.
IT TOOK 2 WEEKS FOR THEM TO RESPOND !!

I was instantly told rust was not covered by the warranty.

Banging my head on a brick wall!

I'm just another disgruntled customer who judging by the unanswered postings here is just banging my head on a brick wall!

Wherever I was and bought the Gripi kitchen scissors I was immediately sure they'd be OK because they were from Richardsons Sheffield. As I've subsequently discovered not the centuries old old, highly revered Rchardons for Shefield but some Far East copying junk. They wouldn't even cut the fins off a fish. I wrote to customer services who wont even look at them under warranty unless they're over a year old - take them back to the seller. If over a year old return them with the purchase receipt else we wont look at them. Oh, pay the postage yourself!

I'll never ever buy with anything with Richardsons Sheffield on it again.

A gripe apout Gripi Scissors 'Gripi'have gone inbinn.

Scissors 'Gripi'have gone in bin.
Bought these for around 3 pounds I think from somewhere like Aldi though they can cost 4 times that online.
From the get go they were awkward to use big grips but very poor cutting power. No visible adjustment mechanism
Just mangles plastic packaging ,wont cut fish heads, meat gets mangled no smooth sharp cutting action at all.
After several weeks of struggling I finally binned them and got Poundland Ones at 1.00p which work fine precision smoothly cutting meat etc.
Gripi probably worst kitchen scissors have ever had.
Dont know what was wrong with them just blunt manglers.
And reading entirely unconnected reviews here seems Im not the only one!

I have a set of knives from this company. The rubber handles are all coming off. I sent them photos so they can do something about it and they wont help me at all because I don't have the proof of purchase!. Who keeps receipts for a set of knives!. Really bad customer service AND the quality of the product is no better!.

Customer service is appalling

Customer service is appalling. I contacted them due to a knife that broke in an unusual way. It had not been dropped the blade literally came off, quite dangerous. As I didn't had the receipt, knife was a gift, CS didn't want to know. I didn't ask for a refund or replacement, just clarification how did had come about, could it be a design flaw or was this an one off. You would think especially as this is a knife they would want to investigate. But no, a CS team that are not interested, and can only ask if you have the purchase receipt,it's extraordinary. I made a formal complaint to no avail.
Very poor and Amefa, a company to stay well away from in my experience.

Gripi Scissors - Pure landfill

Reading the review below, i had to check whether i had already written a review. We had the same experience with the rubber grip breaking. I contacted customer service and they told me that without a receipt they could not do anything - who really keeps a receipt for a pair of scissors? They also told me that they had not heard of any similar problems - they clearly don't look at trustpilot or as Google. Interesting that the Pizza scissors have plastic fully surrounding the handles.

Looking at the other reviews below, they clearly dont care. Avoid and all costs - just pure land fill.

If there was a 0 rating - that's what I would give.

If there was a 0 rating, I would give it. We have a pair of Gripi scissors, one of the handles just broke off without any reason. I sent photos of the scissors, which clearly show that aside from the (now dangerous) broken handle, they are in as new condition. I emailed the parent company, their response was 'no receipt' so cannot do anything. The only thing you expect when you buy a pair of scissors is that the handles will stand the test of time and last as long as the blades, nothing else - these failed. For me the company has also failed, a decent company would ask for the item to be returned to them, and consider whether a replacement is fair, they just don't want to know.

Highly dangerous unstable wooden knife holder

Although the Richardson Sheffield knives themselves are excellent quality and sharp, the wooden block holder stacks six knives in an unstable top-heavy position.
A mere brush of a tea-towel caught on the knife handles caused the block to fall on its front on the kitchen counter/bench immediately followed by six heavy falling blades off the counter/bench onto the floor penetrating the vinyl lino flooring, just missing the legs/feet. Worst case scenario could have been an emergency admission to the hospital.
The flooring laid freshly last year is now ruined and will cost a lot of money to repair.
We’ve written to Amefa yesterday to claim compensation for damages.

'Fings aint what they used to be'

I have only had two steak knives in use from a box of six. In the last couple of months I have used either one for slicing a banana daily to add to my cereal. Yesterday, with no pressure at all, the blade broke from within the handle. The knives are in perfect condition otherwise, and only ever hand washed.
A lady on Amazon has published a picture of the exact same break
These knives are not long-life durable at all. With the brand being 'Richardson's Sheffield' you would automatically think & expect they would be 'Stainless steel' but be aware they are not, but a cheap alloy steel. On the box it implies and states clearly 13/0 quality stainless steel knife blades This is a false trade description. Evidently 'Richardson's were taken over by 'Amefa' a Dutch Company (according to Wikipaedia.)

The knives are given a lifetime warranty by 'Amefa' but they evidently are not honouring faulty knife claims. They state they cannot send replacements to general consumers because of regulations, but the customer should go back to the original retailer; which in this case would be Amazon. Potential customers seeking to buy cutlery should make absolutely sure they are buying Stainless Steel' and not a form of alloy which will break easily. It is very sad that fine cutlery once made by 'Richardsons's in Sheffied no longer exists & is now cheaply produced in Asia.

25 year guarantee a con

Kyu set of knives shatter easily when dropped on wooden floor. 25 year guarantee a con. They just don’t care!!!! Avoid at all costs. I think Richardson steel brand must have been bought up by low quality pile ‘em high trader. These are rubbish and once they’ve got your money, they don’t honour their promises.

Do not invest, poor quality!

Avoid at all costs! The 25 year guarantee is a con. I have sent pictures of the cutlery set showing clear staining. They charge to send in the cutlery and to return back after inspection. Amefa put all liability back to the customer suggesting improper use and not following their cleaning guidelines.

Avoid Amefa Cutlery!!!

Owning a set of Amefa teaspoons which have successfully stood the test of time I decided to purchase knives, forks and desert spoons from Nisbets Catering. Believing they were of superior quality to the set I was replacing, made from 18/10 stainless steel and advertised as dishwasher proof. “However”in the same breath they request you to wash the cutlery by hand in soapy water, polishing with a dry cloth for the best results. All I have found are knives that are permanently covered in rust spot which I can’t think is a safe way of eating food. Why does Amefa lead people to believe you are buying a quality product that is okay to wash in a dishwasher when it is clearly not. I am totally disappointed with Amefa and recommend avoiding their cutlery/knives.

Life time warranty is a con

Bought their 6piece knife set in one of their shops several years ago, knives were sharp and I liked them but handles cracked with a time. I have send number of emails to the company but never heard anything back. Next time I would not buy it again and I do not recommend them if they treat their customers like that.

15 year guarantee is worthless

15 year guarantee is worthless. I was required to return broken knife at MY own expense and was given a long list of why they wouldn't pay out if they thought the knife had been misused. Not worth the postage to return item. I supplied clear photo's to them. Poor customer service and my last email to them was ignored.

*****AVOID AVOID AVOID*****

*****AVOID AVOID AVOID*****
Purchased Amefa Eclat 24 piece cutlery set and to begin with it was lovely but very quickly the products started to break and the coloured parts move and come away! Not good at all!! Contacted their customer service who told me I would need to send them back to them at my own cost BUT if they find it was my fault I would have to pay to also have the items returned to me!!!!! From other reviews I see that the consumer is constantly to blame not them, they seem to always blame the customer!!!! DISGUSTING!!!!! Not wasting any more money when it’s clear from the pictures I have sent them, you can clearly see the issues on the images yet this isnt good enough!! The products are only just 2 years old. I have never experienced this sort of customer service elsewhere, if there’s an issue and you can see that through images etc the companies help you but not these!!!!!! Stay clear!!!!!!!
