2⭐️ as the car was very clean & presentable. I paid in full, upfront, only renting a children’s car seat there at the airport which again paid for there and then. Returned the car in an immaculate con... See more

Rented a car online to pick up i Zurich…
Rented a car online to pick up i Zurich airport. We have rented cars many times online and know that it is imporant to announce the time of arrival. At pick-up point they claim we did not register point of arrival, and therefore the car we allready payed for was unavailable. The only option Alamo gave was to pay more for a bigger car. Of course, allready payd alot of money for a car, we had no option than to pay additional price for rent. We made sure to take pictures of the car before and after use.
Two months later we received an email stating " We have received notification of a traffic violation that occurred while the vehicle was rented in your name." Alamo claimed 50 CHF for this. We did not get any informasjon of what this traffic violation was, although we tried to contact Alamo several times. Then we received the same email, now claiming 100 CHF. Calling Alamo from abroad, there is only a voice mail and no possibility to get any personal assistance.
It felt like a fraud when we picked up the car, and now it feels even more like a fraud. This was the worst experience we ever had with renting car abroad.
Avoid Alamo/Enterprise car rental
Avoid this company and their Parent company (Enterprise) like the plague. They will charge you for any previous damage to the car and not reply to any requests for proof that you provided it. Never again will I give this company any business. They are totally corrupt.
Alamo Geneva Airport charged me £400…
Alamo Geneva Airport charged me £400 for a small mirror scratch that I did not make, on a car that already had 14 reported damages. Also, they could not provide evidence of the repair having been carried out.
Shady company
Shady company, 17 days after we returned the car, we have not received back the deposit.
The deposit was just a hold of money, hence should be returned the same minute after the release.
Their customer support does not exist.
There is no email address to contact them, only foreign phone numbers and a chat which works half day.
Would use them again
I booked my hire car through Ryanair when travelling to Limoges (France). I have to say it was a perfect experience from start to finish. This was because my flight was delayed, but the representatives in Limoges were able to work with this (because they already had my flight number). So when I arrived there they were still expecting me, and the collection process was very professional. On both the pick-up and drop-off, both customer service persons spoke flawless English. The car supplied was in excellent condition & working order. And after returning it, my deposit was refunded to my account within the week. So shall definitely use them again, as it was a no fuss, smooth, and pleasant experience 🫶
Impossible to modify reservation
Have rented from Alamo 10+ times. Keeps getting worse. Today I am trying to modify an existing reservation. First, after clicking on "Modify existing reservation" on the home page, I need to click through 7 more confirmations that I really do want to modify. Then I reach my reservation, enter the discount code from the Alamo website, and I am greeted with: "ERROR. We're sorry. Please try again later." I guess that they're not wanting me to "Save $15 off $175 or more" after all.
ROBBERY OF 250USD!!!
We hired a car in LA airport back in March and, upon return of the car, they issued us a receipt that we had overpaid for fuel, which amount of money they would eventually refund. UNTIL TODAY WE HAVE RECEIVED NO REFUND!!! I have sent them over 10 e-mails => nothing!!! THIS IS PURE CHEATING! ROBBERY OF 250USD!!!
Terrible service and loyalty to…
Terrible service and loyalty to customers. They charged me 600 DKK after i already returned the car in 100% condition. It was a bridge fee that was down and the administrative fee was higher than the bill from Storebelt bridge. We also bought insurance on the car and they still billed us, pretty sleasy and bad service.
In Canada, Alamo were great
Can see that Alamo gets many bad reviews so want to say how good they were to us in Canada. We just did a long trip from St John's, Newfoundland, ending in Toronto Pearson airport. Most companies wouldn't even allow us to do this, so Alamo was one of few alternatives. And they were excellent: staff at St John's were exceptional, very friendly (they are Newfoundlanders..) and gave us lots of good advice on wildfires and other things, the car was nearly new and in great condition, and staff at Toronto were just as good! The drop off fee was reasonable considering the distance, nearly 4000km. Can recommend Alamo for anyone considering a road trip in Canada.
Enterprise Spain: thumbs down
Car rental booked via Expedia with Enterprise, pickup from Bilbao City office (Abando railway station) on 9th September. We turned up about an hour and a half early hoping to be able to pick up vehicle early, however we were told by the staff that early pickup was impossible as the rental was via a third party organisation (Expedia). Fair enough, they have their rules. No complaint so far. So we wait an hour and a half in the station and return at the appointed pickup time....to find the Enterprise office full of angry customers. Why? Because (in the words of the office staff)...there were NO CARS AVAILABLE! Not just for us, but also for the half a dozen other disgruntled customers. The only solution offered was to come back at 4pm when (according to the office manager) some vehicles would be available. Did we think this was worth the risk? - We most certainly did not. So we asked the office manager to officially cancel our booking and we rented a vehicle from another company next door. However almost a week later we have yet to see any refund for the abortive rental mentioned here. To be honest I would have probably forgiven them if they´d been up front about the problem when we first turned up at 10.30am. But making us wait a totally unnecessary hour and a half just because they could.....that´s either incompetence or just plain mean. So.....All things considered I think the moral of this story is: ENTERPRISE SPAIN? - NEVER AGAIN!
Brilliant car rental company
Brilliant car rental company. No hidden fees. Have used them on different occasions and never experienced anything bad
Scam at ALAMO, Palma
Rented a car at ALAMO, Palma - Mallorca airport in July. The car was in bad shape, filthy, with many scratches and dents. We were told not to worry about it because only scratches bigger than 5 cm mattered, therefore no damages were recorded. Despite having taken pictures we were charged for additional damages wich we didn’t cause. Damages that were consistent with hail damage. Without clarification, upon return. 1.700€ was charged to the CC - because the excess was not covered.
It is impossible to get a proper response from anyone at ALAMO. I have tried for weeks now. This seems to be a pure scam to lure customers with a decent rental price and then scam them at the end. Look at reviews!!! This seems to be a common practice in Palma. Shameful!
I have rented hundreds of vehicles over the past decades all over the world but nothing as outrageous like ALAMO in Palma!
‼️THEY DIDNT HAVE CAR AND STOLE MY MONEY…
‼️THEY DIDNT HAVE CAR AND STOLE MY MONEY ‼️
Never again❌, guys I want to warn you to miss this place by far.
When I read another reviews still same like me story.
I book cabrio over month before my trip, when I get at office at 0:30 morning, put my documents woman on desk just told me “ we don't have it” she didn't look at me, didn't say for least sorry just “ don't have it” and play with her tablet.. Seriously nothing else, when I asked, what happens next she just told me we have Volvo.. When I continue that I booked etc, she look at me first time and told me there is Volvo or nothing… when
I asked about price, surprise surprise, same price! On much cheaper car completely different class!
When I signed everything she just pass me keys and point me there is car you will find it.. Nothing like check scratches etc..
On end they just copy paste that lame answer but they don't care ⏬
Would like to put -5 stars for attitude…
Would like to put -5 stars for attitude of the Alamo/Enterprise employee at Intercity Hotel in Frankfurt am Main. Very self-confident and not customer oriented employee that initially said that reservation was cancelled because I was late for 30 minutes, after a long conversation found out that they generally didn't have 7 seaters as requested.
I wish good luck to that company.
Absolutely terrible service from Alamo
Absolutely terrible service from Alamo, been to japan many times over the years and never had problems until Alamo rental. We had booked overseas and paid in advance, they didn't have staff that spoke english! They wouldn't relase the car on some technicalities hidden in their small print which wasn't revealed to us initially, they wouldn't refund our money.
USE Alamo AT YOUR PERIL!
I should have received my deposit of…
I should have received my deposit of 3,499.71 mx back from Alamo Cancun. I can proof with bank statements that this money has never reached my account. I‘m awaiting the deposit since end of April now. No replies to my endless email.
Car hire company that has no cars
Car hire company that has no cars but a surplus of attitude. Booked a car in Montreal for 10 o'clock Tuesday morning by 11.15 was told they still couldn't say when a car would be ready. Apparently head office advertises cars that they don't have so not their fault. No uniforms or name badges worn by staff, easy to see why now. You have been warned
Price offered was different to final…
Price offered was different to final payment. Told about tax. But still worked out about another £400 more than they said at the start. So if you have a budget I wouldn’t go with these scammers
Stressful experience Alamo Bergerac …
I have just been treated unfairly by Alamo Bergerac, France. They claimed for damage which was pre-existing where we had photos showing the damage at pick up in Bordeaux. They took the 2500 Euro excess within 24 hours without even responding to my photo proof.
Beware car renters. I have read reviews where it has happened to other people recently.
They finally came back to us “releasing us from any responsibility” but the stress was so great it tainted the holiday. We did receive the excess refund thankfully.
I will also add the horrible review
I will also add the horrible review! Rented a car in Ireland, not knowing it was an manual, have never had to check this but now I know. In a vulnerable situation in a foreign country. Took the agents information as honest and what was available. Was charged TRIPLE my original invoice, but in a tough situation. Once we were at our location, I checked rentals through alamo and costco for the price of an automatic for our dates. It was serval hundred dollars cheaper. When I reached out I was told pricing was "DYNAMIC" sure dynamic to take advantage of people. Never using ALAMO again.
