Travelers frequently complained about unhelpful airport ground staff, unprofessional attitudes, and rude customer service agents when attempting to resolve urgent travel issues. Passengers also faced extremely frustrating baggage delays, completely lost luggage items, and unexpected extra fees charged abruptly at the boarding gates. Don’t fly business class on Air France…

Don’t fly business class on Air France medium haul flights.
It is not a business class service. On a 3hr flight and above you get the same cold tray that you get on a flight between Paris and London . Not aperitif, no hot meal . The fare however is genuinely business class!
Flight between Paris and Rabat but the same on Paris Athens or Paris Erevan. And I am a Platinum For Life member. I usually fly other airlines on medium haul for that reason but I sometimes don’t have the choice . Long Haul is ok . Short haul too but medium haul is a rip off

The worst experience ever in my life

The worst experience ever in my life. I lost my bag and i made an complaint and they send me one place to another place. Calling different countries air france brach and different people. Explaining same situation again and again and again. Which gives stress. Repeating same situation and couldn’t find the bag. Bag has very expensive sports things. Which was totally new. And I bring from Dubai. Most expensive things i lost in this airline. I never had that kind experience. This airline is very irresponsible for their clients or their passengers. I thought that they intentions took the bag from passengers. If there are people who is missing their is no meaning if you call them and write them. You bag will not return. Very bad service ever. I suggest to people don’t choose this airline

I will not be flying with Air France again, terrible customer service

My most recent experience with Air France (Paris to Dominica, March 2026) was very disappointing and confirmed I will not fly with them again.

We paid for extra legroom, but one of the onboard TV screens was broken and kept falling forward, making it unusable on a long-haul flight.

The cabin crew member assisting us, Maria, was unhelpful and abrupt. She attempted a temporary fix but the screen remained unusable and we were told there was nowhere to move us.

We were offered vouchers, which I declined. We were then told we would receive a £150 refund (£50 each) automatically, and that this was agreed in front of other staff. We also had promises of follow-up care during the flight from Maria which never happened.

After the flight, we only received a £50 voucher, not the agreed refund, and I received no response to my feedback or email questioning this.

Previously, my experience with Air France was when they cancelled a Cardiff to Dubai flight with no notification at all, no email, app alert, or phone call, leaving me to resolve everything at the airport myself with no apology or compensation.

Overall, my experiences with Air France have involved poor communication, inconsistent service, and lack of follow-through.

I will not be flying with Air France again.

Extremely disappointing experience with…

Extremely disappointing experience with Air France in Paris. We paid extra in advance to select seats together as a family, but they were changed without our consent. After arriving from Toronto, we tried to resolve the issue at the gate, but the staff were unhelpful and came across as quite rude. It completely defeats the purpose of paying for seat selection if it’s not honored. Very frustrating and disappointing service.

You plan a trip of a lifetime to Paris

You plan a trip of a lifetime to Paris, purchase tickets to events in Paris and then Air France says, Hey we know we had a flight on the days you scheduled but not anymore? They took our seats and put us on another flight with seperate seats not even together and said you can ask for a refund of the Exit row we took once you get to the airport. Terrible Customer service on the phone as well. The chinese girl who works for them put us on hold like she had no idea how to find info out. Then just told us what we already knew and what we saw on the computer. Will Not Fly them again. As their ratings look already not many people like them. They dont seem to care as well.

Horrible experience

We were at delayed overnight in Paris. We were told from Expedia we had a chance of getting our money back because of the long delay, Air France rejected our request, but we got a company called “Air help“ that got a portion of our money back. While in Paris, they put us up at an absolutely disgusting hotel. The carpets were filthy and the water in the tub came out brown. We complained and never heard a word back. Would never fly Air France again.

Air France is a terrible airline that hates its customers

Air France is an airline that blatantly has no concern for its customers and is absolutely the worst in customer service. We barely missed our outbound flight on a round-trip to Valencia from Seattle in April. This was our fault, no doubt, and we had to buy one-way tickets for the following day as a result. Understandable. Air France informed us (after waiting 45 minutes to talk to a condescending "customer service" rep) that to use the return tickets that we already paid for they would charge us a 500 euro per ticket fee. For what, I asked, since they were not inconvenienced in the least - the rep was unable to explain how their airline might be inconvenienced, but did offer to re-read the terms slower so that I might understand.
We ended up having our claim denied in that same snotty manner, because Air France thinks so little of their customers that they can price-gouge them in order to use tickets that we had already paid for. 1500 euros, 500 per ticket. Seriously - these guys don't care about service, they don't care about you and they are what is wrong with the Airline Industry. Use Lufthansa instead, or Delta directly (many AF flights in US are through Delta anyway, so why give these a-holes money when you can go direct to Delta).

Air France bumped me off their flight

Air France bumped me off their flight - but tried to claim that the flight had been cancelled ( apparently the CDG website was in error and the flight in progress was a “ghost flight”).

They clearly have a policy of avoiding EU261 rights by pretending the flights are cancelled.

Shocking that Air France aren’t honest with customers

Air France customer service proved to…

Air France customer service proved to be shockingly bad in their handling of claims. We traveled with the company in December to have the bad surprise of being left without a luggage on our arrival. It turns out that the company had left 100 luggage behind before take off. We were told to come back the day after. After driving back to the airport, still no sign of the luggage. This one eventually showed up 24h later at the airport. Once back to London, we filed a claim for the clothes bought due to this mix up. 5 months later, this claim has been opened but not answered. This is just unacceptable. Needless to say that we won’t be taking this company again. High fares leading to terrible customer experience.

Really disappointed with both Air…

Really disappointed with both Air France and Hertz over a recent car rental booking — and we’re still fighting to get this resolved.

We booked and paid for a prepaid rental through Air France, which was actually recommended on their website. Everything seemed straightforward, but when we arrived to pick up the car, Hertz refused to release it due to conditions that were never clearly explained during the booking process.

Since then, it’s been incredibly frustrating. Air France says it’s Hertz’s responsibility, and Hertz says it’s Air France’s. We’ve been going back and forth between the two with no solution, no accountability, and still no refund — despite paying in full for a service we never received.

It honestly feels like once something goes wrong, neither company is willing to step up and help, and you’re just left stuck in the middle trying to sort it out yourself.

We are still actively trying to resolve this, but based on our experience so far, I would strongly advise others to be very cautious when booking third-party services through airline platforms. Personally, I wouldn’t use Air France for this again, and I’d think twice before using Hertz as well.

AVOID AVOID AVOID at all costs!

The flight from Manchester was ok, crew were friendly no issues whatsoever. The flight from Paris to Punta Cana was again OK crew were friendly. Arrived in Punta Cana but my case didn't. The Air France representative went away, came back to say there were two cases left on the carousel but neither were mine. Off he went again and never came back, the airport was empty apart from us and a few staff. The only way to contact AF is via social media- WhatsApp or FB messenger they give absolutely no information just be patient, check the website which hasn't been updated in three weeks meanwhile I was holiday with few clothes and no toiletries. I have tried ringing since getting home again they do not want to know. Customer Service/ care is non existent. It is 3 weeks since my case went missing and no update whatsoever
I will never fly AF again because of the lack of customer care.

Generally a poor experience

Generally a poor experience. The flight ran out of any alcohol by the first trolley service. Staff were incredibly rude regarding the seats being put back. They told my daughter put her seat up during meal times, which is absolutely fine and I agree with, but did not enforce the same to the people in front which made no sense. When we asked them to apply the same standards to the people in front we got a shrug and nothing more. Meal time was also very odd, they forgot to give us the hot part of the meal, and then accused us of lying that we hadn’t received it.

Horrible Airline

I am appalled by the operational incompetence I experienced at Charles de Gaulle. After enduring already long waiting times, Air France staff began a predatory screening of all hand luggage.
Even though my bags were within the size dimensions, I was informed that because they exceeded the 12kg limit, I had to leave the security line entirely. I was forced to:
1. Go back to the check-in counters.
2. Queue for an eternity just to pay a surcharge.
3. Queue all over again for security.
The lack of staff and the refusal to handle these payments at the gate or a dedicated service desk is a massive failure in logistics. It felt like a deliberate attempt to squeeze money out of passengers while making the airport experience as stressful as possible.
For a "premium" national carrier, this level of "low-cost airline" behavior is embarrassing. If you are flying through CDG, be warned: they will sacrifice your time and your flight connection to enforce minor weight discrepancies.
