Airbnb liars are informing you that they do not take your money before the confirmation from the owner!
They have owners not responding for weeks! Your money is taken within seconds and not returned before the rental suppose to start.
The prices in Spain are in euro. But the liars at Airbnb use very bad exchange rate, charge your euro- account in currency of your country. The same with refund.
The liars at Airbnb decline to close your account permanently!
Lack of transparency and consumer protection
I booked an apartment in Barcelona through Airbnb and encountered serious problems: the bedroom was smaller than the legal minimum, the bathroom had no ventilation, the total surface was less than advertised, the kitchen was not equipped as listed, and the mattresses were in poor condition.
I submitted photos, measurements, and requested the official habitability certificate (cèdula de habitabilitat), but Airbnb closed my case stating that “the photos were consistent with the listing,” relying only on the host’s statements. They never verified the legal compliance of the property.
Airbnb collects fees from both guests and hosts, yet fails to provide real checks on listings. The so-called “internal verifications” with the host are marked as confidential and not shared with the guest, preventing any fair defense.
In the end, I had to escalate the case to the Catalan authorities and formally notify Airbnb’s European headquarters in Ireland via registered letter. Unfortunately, this shows that the platform protects hosts more than consumers.

I provided my contract that I am the manager of this property and it was still not enough.
The old tenant still has this property listed and they are quite happy for him to take peoples money and then they turn up to me with no where to stay. Come on Airbnb sort your staff out. It's so painful dealing with stupid people that have no knowledge or common sense
Airbnb is Not a Safe Platform for Renting
My experience with Airbnb has been disappointing and frustrating. The platform showcases beautiful apartments in photos, but when you arrive, the reality is completely different: dirty accommodations, deplorable conditions, and even unsafe environments.
The worst part is that when you report these issues, Airbnb does nothing about it. They allow these problems to persist without taking real action against hosts who deceive guests. On top of that, getting your money back is nearly impossible, leaving you unprotected as a consumer.
For this reason, I have decided to stop using Airbnb. The platform does not provide security or consumer protection. If you’re looking for a safe and hassle-free stay, I highly recommend considering other, more reliable alternatives.

A serious and potentially fatal…
A serious and potentially fatal incident happened to my partner during a stay with Airbnb, a shelf fell on him full of encyclopedias, apparently they can't find the booking details on their systems to deal with our complaint and my partner has been left with serious injuries, the customer service is appalling! A email of complaint has been sent but I don't expect a response, reality is if he had set sofa up as a bed this would of fallen directly on his skull they will be hearing from our solicitor.

Nunca tuve problemas con ellos años atrás, pero llevan una temporada dando problemas, con cancelaciones, el día antes, u horas antes con vuelos, reservas varias y todo reservado con muchos tiempo de antelación. Me han dejado en un ciudad que no conozco, desprotegido, sin dinero y en la calle. Me parece una vergüenza y evidentemente no es suficiente con un triste reembolso porque los vuelos y reservas de actividades o restaurantes todas se pierden sin lo esencial con son las estancias u hospedajes. Todo sin justificar porque me cancelaron las reservas que fueron realizadas con unos meses de antelación y canceladas en el ultimo momento.
I never had problems with them years ago, but they have been causing problems for a while, with cancellations, the day before, or hours before with flights, several reservations and everything booked long in advance. They have left me in a city I don't know, unprotected, without money and on the street. It seems a shame to me and obviously a sad refund is not enough because the flights and reservations for activities or restaurants are all lost without the essential things being the stays or lodgings. All without justification because they canceled my reservations that were made a few months in advance and canceled at the last minute.

The worst experience ever
Airbnb does not bear any responsibility to you if the host cancels the reservation. Our booking in Rome was canceled 1 hour before check-in, which was supposed to take place at 24.00. Just imagine that you land at 23.00 in Rome and the first message you receive is that the host canceled your reservation. No much time you have to fix the issue till midnight. Several hours were spent on meaningless communication with the Airbnb support team, which did not solve the issue. All they did was fsend me several options 50-70 km from Rome. It was impossible to book these options for the same night and unclear how to get there at night. This is just because they are trying not to "overpay" on rebooking since apartments and hotels that night in Rome cost about 600 euros. All time they asked me how they could help, but in fact they did not help at all. They were also constantly regretting, but their regret was the last thing I needed that night. I just needed them to solve the problem with accommodation. Airbnb support team offered me to solve my problem myself and book a hotel on my own. They promised to compensate for the difference no more than 60 euros (30 % of the canceled booking price), which was negligible in comparison with hotels prices that night. As a result, 4 people spent the night on the street. Air Cover program (designed for such cases) did not help us too. As I said earlier, they were not ready to cover the difference of 1000 euros to rebook another apartment in Rome. I belive a responsible business in such situation would have bought insurance to respond on this risks, but they do not care at all about the client's problem. It was nightmare and spoilt trip. I will consider this experience for my next trips and try to book accommodation on airbnb as less as possible. This time I was not prepared at all for the fact that Airbnb would leave us on the street. Booking number HM9DQDCWZX.

I really want to warn potential clients that Airbnb is allowing through their website to rent places that not only don´t comply at all the description in their website, but also even violate basic Airbnb rules and have serious unsanitary conditions that don´t meet the requirements to be a decent home. After giving multiple and obvious evidences, the Airbnb customer support lies repeatedly and don´t protect the guest, violating their own policy. They don´t care at all, they just want the money from the guests. I don´t recommend at all to invest in this fraudulent and scam enterprise.

I have now rented my first apartment via Airbnb in Malaga/Benal Beach and would not recommend.
It is freezing cold in the apartment, and the heat pump must be turned on every two hours as it only works via a booster.
The heat pump only covers parts of the apartment, the bathroom is freezing cold, the same with the kitchen area and bedroom. And when you contact Airbnb, they do nothing to help.
At night I wake up icy cold and have to run into the bathroom to warm myself in the shower.
Have also had a cold and fever for a week because of this. Not exactly a top holiday.

I discovered, much to my dismay, that this apartment, lovely as it is, is really cool, faces East and is in the shade all afternoon. The description of sunsets from the terrace was completely misleading and the fault lies in the English translation on Airbnb´s website. The host promised wonderful views in the evening from the terrace, but the translation said wonderful sunsets from the terrace. It couldn´t be further from the truth.
Airbnb refuse to accept responsibility for this misleading translation. I am faced with a 2-month grin-and-bear-it experience, or I find another apartment and incur the penalty for cancelling the policy. Either way I lose out.

I booked an airbnb.es in Spain in the city of Reus. This place dirty and in a rough neighbourhood, the bed was fitly and so i asked airbnb.es to cancel and refund me. They assigned a person to me and she "investigated" and came back to me over and over again that " this is not in bridge of our policy. "
Anybody booking in Spain please read this carefully. Check the location before you book and ask the host to see the place if possible even through a live whatapp chat or something which would then be on record.
Airbnb specially in Spain has a very low standard. I have screenshot of my conversations that i will publish elsewhere on the web as the proof of what i am talking about but take my word for it make sure you know the place and neighbourhood.
Also if a host is not allowing you to cancel and get refund the for the remaining days that is a sign that they are not providing you a good service.
The most important point is that AirBNB as a company does not care what so ever about you as a guest as their money stream comes through hosts and they rather keep it cozy with them.
