4 days of no internet. Told me to buy a new router. Still not working, wasted money on buying a new router as advised by them, but the router was never the problem. Countless hours on WhatsApp chat tr... See more

Utter dissatisfaction
Hi, I've got a very big problem with these crooks and I wonder how they are the best isp in the country while providing such poor service. I switched my payment method from debit to manual payment where I'm given a payment reference number to pay at Pep, picknpay and all other stores where I could. The ref number was provided to me by consultant and later after work I passed by picknpay for a successful payment however when I got home my internet was still saying suspended and I gave it some time thinking It would be up and running however after hours and hours I noticed it was still suspended.in the morning I woke up to the msg which still read suspended and I called afrihost to enquire what was happening only to be told iv done a payment to a wrong account even when the acc was provided by them and they told me they have to reverse the money back in my acc so I can make a payment wit the new number and this whole situation might take up to 14 days to be done while I'm without internet. Now they asked me for my banking details and I gave them and I now keep getting calls which says I should send the proof of payment even when I had already sent them so I had to go make a second payment so to have the line active
Worst ISP
Since joining afrihost 3months ago I have been almost every single day - logging calls does not help as I always get the same reply -"sessions disconnected - switch off ONT and router for 10minutes and test" this has happened a huge amount of times with no one even trying to read my messages.
Extremely Frustrating Experience – Over a Week Without Connection
My experience with Afrihost has been incredibly frustrating. I was supposed to have my fibre connection set up over a week ago, but despite numerous calls, complaints, and assurances from their support team, I still have no connection. Working from home, this delay has been costly, as I’ve had to purchase prepaid data daily to stay connected, all while continuing to pay Afrihost for a service that hasn’t been delivered.
The lack of proactive communication and the constant apologies without action have made this situation even more disappointing. I feel completely disregarded as a customer, and it’s disheartening that Afrihost seems unresponsive to urgent needs.
I hope this review helps others make an informed decision.
wifi stopped working and couldn’t tell me why
wifi stopped working after 2 months. Called MULTIPLE times, for hours and hours to find out the problem and nobody could tell me?? THEN attempted to have someone come find out the issue to which they canceled and rescheduled the appointment 3 times all on the day of (one time an hour before they should’ve arrived) then canceled my subscription and again couldn’t tell me why. Terrible service, terrible customer service for the love of god AVOID AFRIHOST
The service provide Afrihost is not providing the services they being paid for
The service provide Afrihost is not being forthcoming with the breakdown suffered by the service users in Kuils River and other affected areas. It has been 8 plus days since the services have been down with no feedback or honestly coming from the provider. After calling the provide 12 times we are receiving promises of resolve yet nothing materialises. I pay for the premium package and am responded to with disregard.
The most pathetic and untruth service…
The most pathetic and untruth service provider ever. Afri host is no different to horrible service providers in SA, they disconnect our internet almost every month with reasons that there are insufficient funds, which is not true. On top of that they charge us a late fees, and extra separate R1 every month. We end up paying around R70 on top of our required amount. They just disconnected while there are funds and we had to make manual payments with extra charges as usual. I’ve never seen such a messed up company such as this before. Is there anything right happening in SA? Daar gaan niks reg aan nie. This is frustrating
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service, The Agent I talked to 'Lungile' and his supervisor 'Damon' Not only do they lack empathy but they are rude and have a bad attitude. I am going to be cancelling my service. This is not how you deal with customer service.
Incompetent and Poor Service
Incompetent and Poor Service. Just cancelled my line and cannot provide me with a reason. To get it reactivated is a nightmare. You go from one service agent to another and they all give you the run around. I had to provide my proof of address no less than 10 times. Their service is unreliable. Would not recommend
I know most of the reviews for Afrihost…
I know most of the reviews for Afrihost are bad but I've had the opposite experience. I was lied to by a fibre provider and bought a package that wouldn't be possible at my apartment. It was a cluster feck of note but the Afrihost team was very quick to help me along the process of changing fibre providers. Their customer service is next level and are honestly amazing at helping you in any way possible, whether it be on their WhatsApp line or on the phone. I highly recommend them, especially for navigating the backward world of fibre providers and ISPs.
Worst Service
Reading these reviews, I can understand why Afrihost have no service. The first month was great, no issues. Come the second month, issue after issue with connectivity. If you asked for help, rude staff like Itumeleng M, gives you attitude. Just a reminder, I pay for this service, it's not free. Your service are lacking, and I am getting tired of it.
All apologies no resolution as always.
Yet again their support staff are full of apologies but no knowledge of what is going on with my ticket. What makes things even worse a person is never able to speak to a manager and even after finding the CEO Gian Vissers email address off the CIPC and sending him a mail regarding this persistent issue nobody has made an effort to get back to me on finding a permanent solution to my internet dropping every time they work on the line in the street.
Great ISP it is the best cheap 100 mbps…
Great ISP it is the best cheap 100 mbps for R600 and compared to rain if you wanted 100 you would have to pay R925
Pathetic service provider.
Pathetic service! To start of, they already charged me for internet way before the connection has been done. We found out that they activated somebody else and charged me. When my connection eventually had been done, I only had internet for 2 weeks. It has now been almost another two weeks since I have reported that I have NO internet connection, and the problem has still not been resolved.
Afrihost hosting goes the extra mile
I have been with Afrihost for more than 8 years and been consistently impressed. The support team at hosting is unbelievable - their tone is professional and friendly. They read my issues properly and then respond, unlike other support teams who think they know your issue after the first three words. They even try to advise me on dev issues which is not required - they are just helpful. Thank you Afrihost hosting support team!
We had very slow internet connectivity…
We had very slow internet connectivity at the office. I called Afrihost to log a fault and spoke to Jama. He advised that he will send me an email and put me on hold for approximately 5 min. He returned and advised that he was sending me an email. I received the email, followed the prompts and advised him that I could not proceed with the speed test as the connectivity was very slow. He asked me three times if I read his email and explained that I was following his prompts on the email to no avail. He asked me again if I read his email. I asked to speak to a supervisor. He asked if I read his email. I asked him if the calls were being recorded and he responded in the affirmative. I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager and he advised that there was no one available. He treated me like an ignorant person. Pathetic service Afrihost especially for a long standing client.
We have had no fixed WiFi for 8 days
We gave had no fixed WiFi for 8 days. Afrihost offer nothing but useless platitudes and excuses. No supervisor interaction. Completely shameful
Terrible service, connection and support
We have been without a day's stable internet connection since the day we opened a package with Afrihost almost three weeks ago. We have spent hours on the phone with over 20 different call center agents only to conclude that there was likely something wrong with the brand new router. We handed our router back to Afrihost for assessment and have now been given a faulty router in return and so we are still without wifi. We have been charged twice from our account. We work from home so we have paid for wifi we do not have. Now when we want to cancel our account due to the complete lack of service, connection and support we must pay to cancel? We must pay more to cancel our account than it currently costs to run the account? Then we must also wait 30 days for that cancellation to go through before the fibre line is released - meaning another month without wifi. Afrihost insists on us spending hours talking to different agents over the phoning, reexplaining the issue each time, instead of organizing a technician to help us sort out the problem. It is unacceptable to provide such poor service delivery and then make it so difficult to end the contract. We are now being sent a third router and have had to organize a private technician to come and help us set it up because Afrihost will not send someone themselves. It was meant to arrive yesterday but didn't and now we have found out that it has not even left the warehouse. The entire process has been highly frustrating.
STAY AWAY one of the worst providers
STAY AWAY one of the worst providers
They cant fix a minor problem the whole time they want you to reset and restart and what not else but gets resolved from them i was with vodacom fibre great experience was very happy with them. Had to move so went to afrihost and this is the worst experience i have ever had to put it blunt they are incompetent to deliver but at the end of the month they want the money ohh yes even before payment is due they already come with line suspension threats
Poor internet connection
I've been struggling with my internet connection for some time now. It will say connected, but no internet. This so frustrating, and here I dropped VIXfkr their crap internet connection. I guess I'll move on to the next best SP out there. If there are any good ones, as everyone claims to be the best. Load of crap
I really wish I saw these reviews…
I really wish I saw these reviews before signing up with afrihost! They are the most despicable bunch I have ever dealt with. We experience a drop in wifi EVERY day (we were with mweb previously and thought their services were bad with a drop only once or twice a month) do NOT sign up with this company, their agents can and will not help you and you spend hours fighting this.
