Some positive words.

I'm reading a lot of negative reviews about ADAC. Me and my family we don't have that experience at all with the ADAC. Because we don't have a membership by the Dutch ANWB, they didn't come to help us on the highway A61 in the neighborhood of Koblenz.
After i called te German ADAC, they came directly to help us. (ADAC Mayen)
They car mechanic helped us perfectly. He arranged that the car came of the highway by tow truck to a garage in Mayen, and he also arranged for us a rental car so we could go on with our trip to Austria. ADAC Mayen, thank you. You did perfect!!
You all were friendly en very helpful. From us, 5 points!!

Warning ADAC

Warning ADAC! If you are insured by ADAC think about it. Someone dropped a motorbike on our car and was kind enough to leave contact and insurance details. Simple eh? Not for ADAC, who are refusing to pay for a technicality. They also sent a heavy round to check the damage who was aggressive and intimidating! Presumably to scare me off. Just think twice before using this company!

Unfall verscherung-accident insurance.

Unfall verscherung-accident insurance.
My name is Leonard Ferry, i had an accidend 6.5 years ago, ive been fighting against adac all this time and lost. There is no justice here in Germany for the working clase man. Had 3 solicitors here and all there bothered about is there money, not you. They said i had no accident- it was from wear and tear from work.
Its funny i am right handed and my right shoulders fine. Left shoulder broke bone and snapped tendent, Have pain in shoulder every day. The good achters-doctors work for them , not you-there a form sick people, like to give you pain by pushing your arm right up and saying its all in your head, not in your shoulder. Had legal help-but have to pay 87€ a month for 4 years and another 2560,00€ to the adac, and about 1000€ i payed for MRT scans. So its cost over 8000,00€ my time, nerves and my health. Please do not make the same mistake as me, forget adac-look careful at the very small print. Look for a good firm. Ive been well fkd by adac and legal system-again its not for the working classe. L Ferry

I booked a vacation and a few days…

I booked a vacation and a few days earlier I have an accident at work where my foot was broken. I called for a rebooking, but they sayed is hard to do that and if I want a Storno for only 24 euro(I paid 157 Euro for 2 nights). How is that possible? I know that I didn't booked a refundable trip, but it wasn't my choice to get ingered. I was expecting more understanding from them. I wanted to rebook for not loosing my money, but they give me only one option.
Don't trust them to receive the money in case of an accident. Really poor understanding.

I have been member of Adac since 2008

I have been member of Adac since 2008, and very very chances to use the service. For 2 years moved to UK and been informed that it's covered in UK. Recently stuck the car in mud and they could not provid the cover and instructed to contact local rescue with my own cost. AA supported quickly. People of ASAC are not very polite and used un-professional language and very biased if non-German speaking person talk with them. Disconnect calls deliberately few times during conversation. I have already asked them to cancel my contact if you can't provide the cover but it's also not accepted.

Worst Hungarian ADAC "Automento" tow truck service with phone number +36 30 915 9158

In 2019, unfortunately, I had to use the ADAC service from Hungary. Their service called "ADAC AUTOMENTO". The phone number on the car was +36 30 915 9158. The service provided by the tow truck driver was a total disaster. He expressed his hate toward his job every single minute and he said that I am lucky that he came. He supposed to help me instead he dumped all his problems on me. He even requested that I load up the car on his flatbed (which is clearly was his job). He complained, complained and complained. He complained that he is not getting enough money for this towing, he has an another day job, if he know what he has to tow he would not come. Well it was a car not a rocket what he had to tow and he knew it ahead of time and that is the business he is in. He had no motivation at all and he delayed his service as much as possible. He should not be allowed to "serve" other people because his services are not welcome at all when urgent help is needed. He is between 55-65 years old and if he has not learned what is customer service he should not be in that industry. He should be banned as tow truck driver for life.

Adac No Show

We have been sitting on side of road for 4 hours. Every time we call and ask to speak to someone in English they either hang up on us; promise a tow truck is on the way; or tell us someone will call us back. It is 1C. Do we have to freeze to death before someone gets us a tow truck?

Terrible Service

I have ADAC Plus.
My Car's Wheel was totally blewn up. I called ADAC and they said someone will be here within 60 minutes. Nobody came. We called them again after 1 and half hour. They said your request has been cancelled and there is a problem in the system etc. etc. They called me after 20 minutes again and they said they will come in 40 minutes. For God's Sake. What am I? A tree with a car dedicated to wait on the middle of the street with a broken Car? Shame. Never ever choose ADAC.

ADAC Predators

ADAC apparently sent me a "valuable offer" in the mail that masqueraded as junk mail. According to an ADAC person I talked to, I had to reply to the notice and decline the "valuable offer"; otherwise, ADAC would consider my lack of a reply as consent to start billing me about €33 per month for insurance I don't want or need. After visiting an ADAC office to cancel my ADAC membership, the person told me all billing would stop. It didn't. ADAC is still draining my bank account of about €33 per month. Thieves.

ADAC are GODS on the road.

Very big and reputable Automobile Club.
I am a member for years and they are SUPERB.

Most of the negative reviews come from Brits who are expecting full cover in their home country but it does not work as they wish.

Very happy with my ADAC Plus family for my worldwide cover.
In the UK I have The AA Full cover.

I paid for ADAC cover for years but …

I paid for ADAC cover for years but never used it. I paid the extra for the top level, which included vehicle repatriation and onward travel for myself and fellow passengers.

One Saturday night, as I was driving to the ferry to get back home from a trip abroad, my car broke down. I called the ADAC, the guy didn't speak English so he just said "no" and put the phone down. I called back, got a different guy, he also didn't speak English.....he put the phone down too! At this point I started worrying. After about 20 minutes I got through to someone but unfortunately they wrote my location details AND phone number down wrong, so 1.5 hours later the breakdown company hadn't arrived. I called ADAC back and had to give my location details again.

When the breakdown driver found me, he said he was finishing his shift in 10 minutes and didn't have time to help. He had a (very quick) look and declared the car unsalvageable. I had to arrange for a tow truck to take me to the nearest garage. I called ADAC back to enquire about the onward travel details, as we had a ferry booked that night. The guy laughed at me down the phone and was very rude. He spoke to me as though I was stupid to expect them to cover the cost of getting me to the ferry on time! I explained my boyfriend was starting a new job on Monday & we had to get there, he said "who is stupid enough to go abroad when they have a new job on Monday?". I was nearly in tears at this point and the tow truck driver even commented on how rude ADAC were.

I had to leave the car behind and rent one to get us to the ferry on time, then bring the rental car back a week later! It turned out the original problem with my own car was a faulty relay. It cost about £2 to fix and took 15 minutes, but we couldn't have known that because the breakdown driver didn't want to spend any time looking for the problem.

When I complained to ADAC they told me that the call centre people couldn't have hung up on me and that it must be a faulty phone system. No, I was there and I know what happened. They said they're a German company and customers shouldn't expect them to speak English. Fair enough, but then don't provide policy literature in English versions if you're not trying to attract English customers. All in all a horrible experience and I would never use ADAC again. I definitely don't recommend them!
