Dear Sir/Madam,
Dear Sir/Madam,
Through my bankaccount of ActivoBank I have made 2 payments by"Multibanco"to the firms NOS and Worten, 11/09/2019, respectively Eur 63,61 and Eur 255,89. Again they were paid 2020/04/08, the one of NOS was immediately corrected by same and the money was back in my bankaccount. The Worten amount is becoming a problem as I am already busy for about 2 months to get my money back and I have no good end so far. This is why I asked Activobank to solve this problem as it looks to me this is not a very difficult matter to correct but same bank says that I have ordered payments to be done to the firms envolved every 15 days and they simply reffuse to ask Worten or its bank to send the money back - Eur 255,89 - as they are services payments, according to them. Well, I have never authorized payments every 15 days to Worten or NOS, for me it was only 1 payment. I must say I have never seen such a nonsense as the money envolved is my one not theirs! That is why they have to solve this problem because all problems have a solution. This is a very bad experience with this bank, they never mak mistakes and they think client´s money is not of the clients but theirs! Avoid this bank!
Best banking option I have found for a basic account with debit card.
I had an account with a main Portuguese bank, but they started charging me a lot for all sorts of things. A monthly fee, plus transfer costs, etc.
With ActivoBank I don't have to pay any of those costs. Plus, they have a service desk very near my place which is open till 20:00 (as opposed to other banks which close at 15:00), which makes it very convenient. Although most of the things can be solved via internet/phone.
I have only tested their basic services (basic account plus debit card) and for that they are perfect. I haven't tested any other of their services.
This is the worst experience of my…
This is the worst experience of my life... creating a Bank Account at Activo Bank in Orientes, Lisbon, Portugal (Vasco da gama shopping mall).
There was only one person assigned to creating account out of 4 people actually working in some sort of a portuguese cave like office. The rest (at least 5 other staff) kept walking in and out of a side door to what I suppose is the back office toilet since they did not seem to do any work.
After waiting for 4 H.O.U.R.S... I was eventually told that I could not open a bank account because I was between two jobs. They suggested that I go to some Portuguese government office and claim that I am unemployed and a job seeker so that i can get a form to open an account. I really thought that i was dealing with people from another planet and certainly not a European country. I was so upset that I had to force the bank manager with a stupid beard to come out of the back office toilet to talk to me. He eventually told that he would accept my old contract even though I was not working there anymore but could not accept my new work offer because i have not started. Where is the logic... Of course I did not have the old contract and I could not explain to that ... of bank manager that I did not want to come back and wait another 4 hours. I wanted to push my fist through his stupid bearded mouth but I realised he was not worth the trouble because he is so stupid and the bank is so stupid and probably BECAUSE the person running this bank is stupid. In fact, I was going to transfer the money from the sales of my house so that I could invest the money in Portugal whilst I am working over here. Never again and my advice keep away from this stupid bank.
I hope someone a little intelligent in this bank will tell this bank manager where to stick his bank account.
Bad consumer experience for those not…
Bad consumer experience for those not living in Portugal full time. Alteration of addresses in particular was complicated and gave rise to the payment of fees which I do not feel it should have been charged. The bank was unhelpful through the process.
One of the most reasonable banking options in Portugal!
Without much consideration, I became an ActivoBank costumer a few years ago. It grew on me to become my go-to banking service in Portugal. First of all, it is one of the few banks that offers an account + debit card completely for free without any kinds of fees, forever. Their costumer service is also reliable and offered the necessary expertise the few times I had to use it.
Despite only having a handful of branches in the major cities, it is possible to use Millennium's subsidiaries to do all kinds of tasks on their proprietary ATMs, such as deposits and so on.
All things considered, it is hard to beat ActivoBank's offers if you live in Portugal.
