Excellent product. Subscriptions suck

I can get periodic backups of my important files. Which I like. I like being able to complete wipe the drives of old computers. I abhor the subscription model. Or I would like a lifetime subscription option.

Hello!

Thank you for sharing your feedback! We are very happy to hear that you find our backup and drive-wiping features so useful for managing your computers.

We truly understand your preference for a non-subscription model. To address this, we recently offered the Acronis True Image 2025 Perpetual Edition to all our customers. This version was specifically designed as a one-time purchase option for those who prefer a 'lifetime' style license over a recurring subscription.

Best regards.

my Acronis back up program assessment

Although the program takes some getting used to, (I've used it only for local (n cloud) storage.) it has performed excellently, allowing several recoveries from SSD failures and program crashes.

I trust Acronis!

I trust Acronis with my internet security. They proved their security and stalwartness when I was hacked in September. The backup facility has helped me innumerable times.
The value of the service Acronis offers is beyond cost when you consider the ramification of being hacked.

I have used the product for quite few years…

I have used the product for quite few years. I would always make a backup from this product and Time Machine. I have however encountered some issues over the last year.
- It appears that the latest set of versions have been much slower.
- Over the last couple of years we lost the ability to make a mirror image. Acronis informed us that Apple made some changes that "made it impossible to make mirror images" with the Silicon based chips.... Hmmm, it seems as if this is not completely true and is available from one of their competitors.
- Due to the above 2 issues I will be determining if I should continue or stop using this product going forward.

Has too many tasks running

Has too many tasks running. Slows down computer. told me there was not enough space to copy one drive to another when they were identical drives! Runs 32bit tasks!

Hello!

Thank you for your feedback. We recommend upgrading to the latest version to ensure optimal performance. If you are already using the 2026 version, please contact our support team directly, as the behavior you described is not expected.

Regarding the drive space issue, this is most likely a misunderstanding of disk geometry: even 'identical' drives can have slight differences in the number of usable sectors or partition overhead. If the target drive is even marginally smaller than the source, the software will report insufficient space.

As for the background processes, these tasks are necessary for real-time protection and data integrity, though our latest versions are optimized to minimize impact on system resources.

Best regards.

do not force features that are unwanted. Internet Security.

You Incorporated Internet Security into the product. I do not want internet security from you. I want data backup from you. You then changed customer service options so that individuals could no longer speak directly with sales or customer service.

I stopped using your product about 3 years ago. I had to pick a date within a year to have the interface accept my review, which you solicited.

Update. I first purchase the product in 2010. I last purchased the product in 2021. A message from Acronis since my initial review stated that direct support is only available to customers with active subscriptions. When I attempted to contact acronis in 2021 or 2022, I still had an active subscription. Direct contact with individuals was not supported. I abandoned the product. I can submit proof of downloads and purchasing if desired by Acronis, but they will have to reach out to me. This review was solicited by trustpilot on behalf of acronis

Long time user of True Image

Long time user of True Image, usually clone drives as well as backups. Not a fan of subscription services, so when Acronis offers an update/upgrade of my permanent license I usually take advantage of it. But I won't subscribe.

Longtime True Image User

I've been using True Image for nearly 20 years. It has always proved to be a very reliable backup solution with many options for configuration and siting the backup files. I use it weekly to backup my system and data drives. By using the image backup, I have found it easy to restore my system in about 20 minutes. Using the file backup mode, I can easily restore any specific file I may need. The price is very reasonable.

TrueImage continues to have…

TrueImage continues to have show-stopping conflicts with BitDefender security suites. Even if TueImage is custom-installed without its "Full Protection", it still installs something that blocks BitDefender from being installed. This is a years-old issue.

Hello!

Thank you for your feedback. This issue is most likely to be caused by BitDefender's security suite conflicting with other installed software.

To resolve this, you must whitelist Acronis True Image within your BitDefender settings.

We advise you to contact our support team for further assistance with this configuration.

No longer a happy customer

Until the recent release, I was very happy with Acronis. In this latest release, I found that I was not able to delete older backups. I tried to have the schedule delete older backups and I kept getting error messages the backup disk was full. Consequently, I had to delete all backups and start fresh. I sent a report of this to Acronis over a week ago and to date, the company has not responded
