This was the first time I had someone review a document that is quite important to me. I was really lucky to have the help from ARE team. They are trustworthy. Jonathan is trustworthy. I was hesitant at first, but when I received the document I was so excited about their service - it was great!! All the sentences, words, and grammar have been corrected. The structure between sentences has been rewritten to make them logical, and many words that are not used properly have been corrected. And so on...
I have to say that if, like me, you are experiencing proofreading difficulties, please contact ARE, they are a responsible and excellent team!

Indeed, this company is a nightmare.. I've been waiting for the result for six months since I submitted my draft in January. The editor never regards the client's deadline and has always made lies that 'he's now started the job, and I need just a few more days'. This company has ruined all my schedules and left me with serious mental and financial damages.

I am shocked when I see all these positive comments because the service I received does not really match with them. The service provided is completely disappointing, frustrating and irritating, and the whole process was just a nightmare for me. I strongly do not recommend this company, it can ruin your submission if you have a hard deadline.

The job I paid for this company is to proofread the final version of my PhD thesis. At first, I asked to get back the thesis by the first week of February, but my deadline was later extended for a month, so I told Johnathan that I could get it back by the end of the second week of February. He agreed with that and at that time I really believed that the thesis would be returned by then or slightly later than that date. It turned out that I didn't receive anything back on the third week of February nor any updates from him. When I emailed Johnathan, he kept telling me that he would return it to me in the coming week, at that time I still believe that he would return me the thesis very soon, but it was really disappointing because it never happened. It is not until the first week of March, when I was worried that I would not be able to meet the deadline of 12th March, I told Johnathan that if he could not return the thesis to me by the end of that week then I would like him to refund. He then rushed it and returned the works to me bit by bit over 2-3 days. At this point, I finally realised that he did not work on my thesis at all until I asked for a refund. I also doubt about the quality of the proofreading for a 50000-word thesis when he rushed it overnights.

I cannot accept that it was just a lie when he kept telling me he would return the thesis to me soon. In fact, he just kept passing me off and did not care much about my thesis deadline. What is even worse is that he never informed me about the progress and never told me that he would not be able to complete the work on time. If I had known this is the case, I would have found another company to do this job. I originally planned to submit my thesis in February, but because of this incident, I had to submit an incomplete version by the deadline because I only have a few days to make additional revision on top of the proofread version. This whole process made me extremely anxious and stressed out, but I could not see that Johnathan understood this and think it does matter.

I have asked him for a refund for half of the price on 23rd March (I think it is completely reasonable as I did not receive a service that worth the price), but until now I have not even received a reply from him, which is really irritating. I do not think too much workloads is an excuse for the delay because it is really the responsibility of the company to make sure they can complete all the jobs on time, especially when my work had a hard deadline and Johnathan knew that at the first place. It is also their responsibility to inform me if they knew they could not complete the work by the agreed deadline. In short, avoid this company if you do not want to get yourself into this kind of painful experience.

Jonathan is a very astute, accurate and erudite proofreader and editor. He is excellent in what he offers and always delivers or follows up on time. His comments are logical, deep, sharp but always extremely helpful. They have made my pieces better in all regards - language, coherence, logic. He is very reliable, fast but at all times correct (to the detail), very hard-working, and pleasant to work with. His editing services have improved my writing a lot, I am learning so much as I am following and comprehending all his comments (even if I may have a different opinion on one only because I have researched and written a certain topic and piece) and I am appreciate the intensive and cutting edge high-level work he has done for me. I am currently working with him on my book manuscript.

I think the service is great and that is the reason why I want to use my time to write the feedback. The only problem is too expensive. Maybe it could provide something like a membership card, giving more discount to its' honest customer.
