Since my very first day at abbots care-…
Since my very first day at abbots care- I have felt nothing but welcomed and appreciated. It is such an excellent company to work for and seeing all the wonderful care and hard work that goes in by all members of the team from the CEO to the Coordinators to the Carers everyone has the same look and that is to make Clients have the best possible care they can.
Seeing how much abbots cares for it clients really does bring a sense of joy around the office- making a positive impact is so important and Abbots defiantly does that.
Great team, Great People, Great Carers.

The most unpleasant experience
“Dear manager, my name is…and I was selected to do the training and after to start work at Abbots Care.
From the first and second day of training that I’ve took part, I’ve noticed a total lack of flexibility ,being asked to be always on cam and told to ask permission to go to bathroom or get the charger or even a glass of water and the trainer was not all the time reading the chat to give us the permission straight away.I find a little to excessive ,considering that we were to do the assessments at the end of the training and pass them at 100%. I could agree to not get the job after the assessments but not disrespected and mistreated during a training period ,considering that the trainning was for a job that I’ve been doing for more than 8 years.
I've noticed a total lack of respect and professionalism of the stuff towards the new employers to be, people shouting at me and didn’t give me the chance to talk or interrupted me all the time. I was expelled from the training at the beginning of the second day because i was preparing my kid breakfast with my cam on.i also have been accused to hide something because i couldn't provide the physical form of my DBS but provided my personal data to check it on line on the government official web site , which is up to date and can't be forged and also I felt offended when they asked me why I don’t want to provide my DBS on paper, “do you have something to hide, it’s something there”?!!! I noticed a total lack of communication between the stuff of different departments because I kept receiving mails from different person regarding the documents that I had to bring along in the third day of trainning although I was expelled from the training and when I called to ask info, I was told in a rude way to ignore the mail. I’ve been called at impossible hours like 22:00 from an your office number, that I don't answer but when I called back, they couldn’t give me any explanations ,and other call from different persons who supposed to be my team leader that required my opinion about the trainning ,asked about my disposability for working schedules and the documents I need to provide for the employing form ,considering that I was expelled from the trainning the second and have been told that I would start a new session of trainning the next week(29/04) for what I never got any notification afterwards.
Never in my life have that kind of feelings and I am very disappointed about that experience with Abbots care. When I checked online for reviews I didn’t want to believe what I read but now I tend to believe all those allegations and complaints are more ore less accurate.
In a future maybe a better communication between departments will help and people will be happy to work with you.
Hope to have a reply from you.”
Nobody replied back to me and I sent this email twice … avoid them if you can.

Most of the carers are very nice
Most of the carers are very nice; but do as little as possible. Some, out of the many (which I hastened to add are female leave asap). I had, quite frankly (female) did NOTHING this evening, she couldn’t even find the macrowave!!!! Dreadful.

Can see why there's bad reviews
Can see why there's bad reviews, was told training would be paid for but now told its not till after your first placement as a live in carer, you'd think after completing training they would give new members of staff jobs instead nothing then make up placements were refused when thats a lie as no contact about poss work! People have accepted jobs as experienced and looking to work....
Everything about this company is so bad…
Everything about this company is so bad it is difficult to know where to start. The carers (or the schedulers) do not keep to the care plan planned times, even when timing of medication is critical. The carers do not read the care plans and do not follow them even if they do. The back office is a complete joke, you get a choice of options to select but never get anyone who actually knows what they are doing. They are contractually obliged to NOT use more than 8 different carers in one week, yet repeatedly use more, often many more.
There are frequent language barrier issues and a large number of apathetic carers who do not even try to make sure the client gets the care they need.
My experience with Abbots Care is based on having been "allocated them" by Hertfordshire County Council Adult Care services. HCC-ACS use the cheapest they can get and unfortunately you get what you pay for. The cost (via HCC ACS) is quite a bit cheaper than going privately, and when the money just isn't there to give the choice to consider going privately, it is a matter of having to lump it. But, seriously, HCC ACS should be holding their service provider to account far more than they do. Then the end-client might actually start to receive some form of service and care that doesn't warrant a review like this.
Seynsor failed yet again
Sensor failed yet again. Tried to ring and was given an option of several keys to press including 0 for customer services. Tried several times but line just goes silent. This company gets worse.
AL1436472 Purchased several items
AL1436472 Purchased several items , 1 duplicated in error , contacted 1 minute after placing order to stop , after several emails they was sent duplicate item and are now refusing to exchange , I now have 2 chains with same name, customer service should check all orders and contact a customer when they see an error on an order, very poor customer care
Good organisation to be with.
The work load is heavy but if you organise yourself as best as possible and make your superior away of the challenges, it's possible to get though. The company aims to improve in every area and welcomes feedback. The pay isn't bad either.
5 Star Company to work for
I began to work for Abbots care in March 2020, from the process of being interviewed to attending online training was literally quick and easy. I was sent to the scheme in Cheshunt for my buddy shift and I really enjoyed it and couldn’t wait to do my shadowing which was more hands on, I have learnt so much in the last 9 months at Abbots and I continue to learn more day by day. This is my definition of the best job I ever had
Interview
Interview
I went for an interview I was asked all the documents everything scanned in and they made it seem like I had the job. I was told they will get back to me the next day it has been 3 weeks ( im happily employed elsewhere now). I felt like this was very unprofessional.
