Impossible to get a refund
Impossible to get a refund. Copy paste responses, and never used the services but paid for it. Very dissapointed. I sent about 10 emails and they only offered a partial refund and never actually process it. It's been going on for over a month. I will never recommend or use 7cups due to this.
What the ...... ?!
I went through an emotional crisis and wanted to talk to someone. It was a Friday afternoon in Europe and I subscribed to be allocated a therapist in due course. In the meantime I wanted to chat to a listener. The first one told me that he did not deal with my issues and that after we had talked for a while and the second said: Something went wrong I am going to have a nap..... draw your own conclusions
Improve active listening
I got a chance to practice my listening skills and feel like I've made great advances in my ability to. 7 cups trains listeners like me to be empathic, non judgemental and to not give advise but to try and understand a person fully. There are a lot of practice and training opportunities as well as real world practice here, where you can develop active listening as a skill.
I'm a listener at 7Cup of tea and I want to say listening is not just a healer it's walking path towards togetherness!!!
I'm a listener at 7Cup of tea and I went in not fully understanding the purpose of what was required by me the post held. But the more I engaged with members is the more it came to me and brought fought and overwhelming feeling! Helping others just being there in the smallest way can surely impact in the biggest way! This site keeps a culture of togetherness and socialization that is earnest on building a asylum, positivity and mental stability to all it's members and listeners alike. I salute to the great effort and energy the 7Cup brings!!!
I’ve used 7Cups for nearly 5 years now
I’ve used 7Cups for nearly 5 years now, while some listeners aren’t great some are amazing at what they do.
My experience on 7 Cups as a Listener Intern
My experience on 7 Cups as a Listener and Intern in their academy program has given me a lot of insight and experience in providing peer support and helping multiple people with different challenges and struggles across all walks of life. As a student with the goal of becoming a psychologist, interning at a place like 7 Cups is easily accessible and very diverse with the kind of members you'll talk to. There are the occasional internet trolls you'll come across in the 1 on 1 chats which pushes down the other members who need help and are waiting, however I assume it makes sense considering how large this community population is. I don't really expect anything to be completely perfect.
One suggestion that I think would be great is a matching-feature for members in 1 on 1 chats. I've had the opportunity to support and talked with trauma survivors with dissociative disorders, which I have lived experience in. However, it would be much easier to find these members if they could automatically get matched to my profile rather than waiting for those opportunities to arise in the chat queue.
Overall, my experience with 7 Cups has aided in my peer support skills tremendously, and I highly recommend the program.
Great website!
I've always enjoyed the opportunity to chat and connect with people. I enjoy being a listening ear for someone when they need it. I also enjoy being able to "vent" and get something off my chest. The site may improve if they could connect you with people in your country or nearby nations. Occasionally things get crossed up with differences in culture etc. Otherwise, I really enjoy the site.
THIS is not a real website
THIS is not a real website. The therapists they list do not work for them. When asked about it, the therapist said their information was stolen by 7 cups and they are not affiliated in any way.
5 Star review for Dr Melissa Berquist
5 Star review for Dr. Melissa Berquist.
If someone is looking for a caring, open minded, empathetic, smart cookie of a therapist to work with I highly recommend working with her. She has helped me deal with health issues as well as the ending of a major relationship and has been a rock for me.
I love 7 Cups and She is phenomenal.
7 Cups is a Scam - fake/stolen therapist listings!
I am a psychotherapist in private practice. I advertise on some legitimate websites, such as PsychologyToday.com. 7 Cups scraped my profile information from such other websites, and created their own profile of me on their website. Their website makes it look as if the user would be contacting me directly, but that isn't what happens. It takes a careful review of their fine print for a user of their website to realize/understand that they aren't actually contacting the provider whose profile listing they are viewing. This is a staggeringly unethical misrepresentation, and very dangerous for consumers who are in real need of legitimate behavioral healthcare services.
Volunteers deserve better
I’ve been a listener on 7cups for a while. But honestly, I’m really disappointed. Lately, I keep getting banned for no clear reason and I’m not talking about breaking rules. I’ve followed guidelines, I’ve done my part, and still I get kicked off without proper warning or explanation.
It feels really unfair and honestly a bit insulting. If you’re going to have volunteers, the least you can do is communicate with them like human beings. Instead, it feels like we’re disposable.
I cared about this platform, but the way things are handled behind the scenes makes it hard to keep caring.
This company steals therapist profiles…
This company steals therapist profiles and leads clients to believe they can get in contact with their clinician via their website. They cannot. This is incredibly dangerous, and the company has been made aware by many people.
Best free AL site
Hello!! Verified Listener here. It's been 2 years since I've became a listener and the level of volunteering is next level. The courses provided to listeners and the resources are very helpful. Everyone can become a listener, as we are unpaid volunteers, but I ensure you, each listener takes their time and does the best of their efforts to listen to the others. Of course, there might be some trolls, but I've never met anyone who was trolling and they get banned very fast by our active moderation team. I find 7Cups very helpful for people that don't afford therapeutic services, we can't offer that for free but we can listen, and I believe that sometimes, listening is the best thing a person could get. We are specialized in anxiety, depression, autism, ED and much more and we provide listening not only to adults but to children as well. I am glad to say that I would recommend 7Cups to anyone who is in need and I can rely on their offerings at any point in my life.
Buyer Beware
Company steals provider info without provider consent and redirects inquirers to other (often unlicensed) providers. Lots of legal suits against this company.
NOT a safe space for anyone with issues
The listeners do not have any actual "training" outside of a quiz. I chatted with one "listener" who straight up said they had no training and anyone could become a "listener". This "listener" reported many of the users of the platform were very mean and it was not recommended as a safe space for anyone with any real mental issues. I dug deeper to find out the forums are not actually monitored and neither are the one-on-one chats. It's literally a free-for-all and not some place where people with real mental issues should be going to so-called "support". Avoid!!
I've heard terrible things about this company...
I've heard terrible things about this company using therapists details without their consent to lure people in. It seems highly unethical to me and I wouldn't trust it from all I've heard from therapy colleagues.
