Bank Transfer? You Can Still Get Your Money Back – Here’s How

Just to make everyone aware: even if you paid by bank transfer, you can still ask your bank to raise it as a fraud case under the Authorised Push Payment (APP) scam scheme. I did — and I got my money back.

Please report this to Action Fraud and give your bank the crime reference number when you do. Mine took it seriously.

I was also pressured to remove my review , receiving multiple emails from different aliases filled with pseudo-legal nonsense that wouldn’t stand up in any court. After I made it clear I have a legal background, I was then offered £100 via PayPal to take the review down. I refused. The irony of demanding a bank transfer, then offering me a PayPal bribe (which they know can be reversed) was not lost on me.

You have statutory rights. And regardless of payment method, your bank can refund you and pursue their bank for reimbursement.

Do some digging on Companies House. Look up Capital H Limited — you’ll see dormant accounts filed, meaning they legally shouldn’t even be trading.

Appauling service, avoid at all costs

Absolutely awful service. False advertising, hidden surcharges, appalling customer service (barely legible communication), zero accountability, took my money and ran with it. And to top that they either won't reply to your emails, or will reply with 2 or 3 words, and run a premium hotline service which charges you a high rate just to get in touch. Do not, I repeat do not use this company if you value your money. I had to go to trading standards but still lost the deposit I was duped into paying. This company just stopped replying once I called them out on their false advertising. I lost money but you don't have to, do not use!!!

Really disappointed

Really disappointed. After leaving a review last week being completely honest and fair I was asked to remove it. I originally ordered an engine over 3 weeks ago with a 5 day delivery. All money paid up front over £2500. As other reviews state, 3engines do not supply the engine they have a network of engineers that take over. I guess it’s luck of the drawer how it goes from here. In my case, David from dcl engineering was very responsive to questions I had up to payment. As soon as I had made payment all I wanted to know was a delivery date so I could make plans for the work. These messages were completely ignored and the phone never gets answered. Apparently the engine is arriving tomorrow but again I have tried to find out an eta but again have been completely ignored. Customer service is non existent with dcl engineering, he even told me to stop emailing haha, if they are that busy I think they should invest in a secretary. It really is not a lot to ask to be kept informed, especially when you put complete trust in these people. 3engines have tried to contact David on my behalf but to me the simplest question of when is it arriving still hasn’t been answered. If you do buy from 3engines do not expect it delivered in the 3 or 5 day delivery options. It could be weeks like mine. I just hope that the engine does arrive and that David at dcl engineering is better at building engines than he is at customer service. I have given them every opportunity to resolve this.

Just want to update this review as this was nearly 2 months ago. The engine did arrive eventually. I had it installed by my mechanic but it turned out to be no good. The engine had no compression in 2 cylinders and sounded horrendous. This was a week before I needed the van for a summer holiday! David from dcl engineering responded quite well and this was the first time he actually spoke to me on the phone. He suspected that there was a bent cam shaft as he stated that the cam shaft didn’t get replaced. Even though I was under the impression that all internal parts were to be replaced. He sent down an engineer to replace the cam shaft and hopefully resolve the problem. This didn’t materialise as the engineer just stripped the engine apart and left that day. They then arranged to pick up the whole van about 10 days later to take back to their workshop to fix the problem. This was nearly 6 weeks ago and I still have no idea what is going on. I have had a few messages saying it will be ready by the end of this week but it never happens. I have just asked what is happening? What work is being done? Again communication is not good. They have also had my old engine now for over 2 months and they keep ignoring my requests for my surcharge refund to be paid. As it states on their invoice refund will be made as soon as they get the old unit. I don’t see any reason for this. I have had messages stating that he is going to close down his business because of stress from customers. I hope he doesn’t include me in the ones that are rude and have no sympathy because I state that I have been nothing but respectful during this whole situation. All I want is what I have paid for. I paid for the engine at the start of June (5months ago) I still have no idea what is going on. I don’t even have my van any more. I dread to think what I am going to receive if I get anything. I have emailed 3engines with an update but this went unanswered which has resulted in me contacting them via this platform. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Avoid 3ngines – Terrible Service and No Communication

I paid a deposit for an engine from 3ngines and have received neither the engine nor any updates. They ignore calls and messages, and have refused to refund my deposit. The customer service is appalling. I would strongly advise avoiding this company – completely unreliable.

If the office has Refused to refund any deposit (AGREED to Reserve the deal that you had requested) then How (as you've said) have we ignored your messages if you know we refused a deposit refund? There will be proof of all emails from our Sent folder to discredit your claim here.


Deposits, if you later attempt to change or cancel the AGREED deal are None refundable and rightly so.

Shocking service.

Shocking service.
Waiting 4 weeks for an engine. 3engines get other companies to recondition the engines.. full money taken. No engine arrived.. 3engines have no department contact to get hold of. 3rd party that they employ dont pick up the phone or emails.
Just 1 big scam and us as a business have been left with an unhappy customer and over £3000 out of our pocket.

Our established suppliers have ever failed to deliver their Engine in 15 years? If they were late by weeks then it is likely to be because they were not paid for weeks. Please update this review to the facts and let us know who you are do we can see what can be done.

Clarks shoes quality lower quality than usual

Clarks shoes.
I have been a Wearer of Clarks shoes for 50 years.
Yesterday I wore for the first time excited for summer of comfort in my new Aristella Sun sandals,in my usual size 6.
After only 10 minutes I felt severe discomfort on the right foot arch very hard like walking g on a wood block.very disappointed in the poor quality of no comfort that I am used too.
Please check on arrival of these sandals before being stuck with sandals you can't wear.

• The confirmed Supplier requires Genuine evidence provided of the issue EG: images and data readings to investigate any Warranty claim. He says that NO GENUINE EVIDENCE WAS PROVIDED.


Unbeknownst to yourself our Service facilitates 1000/ THOUSANDS of Engine deals each Yearly with a 5% issue reported rate... 100% that are Genuinely reported get resolved between the Supplier and garage fitting the Engine at the cost to whomever is at fault.

Any issue simply needed reporting to the Confirmed Supplier company under a Warranty claim. They needed Genuine evidence provided of the issue EG : images and data readings to investigate and progress with any genuine Warranty claim. They have said that Genuine proof of issue was NOT reported. Quite often over the years we have found that the Garage fitting the suppliers engine can be most likely at fault due to inexperience fitting that "Specific Engine type" VS the Confirmed Supplier whom works on that Specific Engine type everyday.

I am sure you can appreciate we must defend our established service from a small minority that attempt to discredit the whole business instead of being more pro-active towards a happier outcome.

Fast & Easy

My wifes BMW X5 engine seized up got it to my local garage, got on to these people (had used them before for my work van) and got a engine delivered in a few days was easy enough, thanks to all involved was back on the road.

I was a bit skeptical at first as I’ve never used a service quite like this.
It was actually pretty easy really, just paid a deposit and then they sorted the rest, they found me an engine.
Paid the rest and then it was sent to me a few days later.
Finally get my piece of rust back on the road!!

VW Crafter Engine Saved Me on Busy run to Christmas

This company saved me from a bad Christmas, I work as a freelance parcel delivery driver, my van engine went on Friday the 22nd spoke to their call centre.
Monday got the invoice from the supplier, got the engine Wednesday, and back at work Saturday.
What can I say Great Service from them and the engineering company and my Local garage for saving my Christmas.
