Great service, seriously fantastic. But be aware of your cancellation terms. Your renewal date is not accurate for cancelling. Buried in their terms of service, you must cancel 30 days prior or they will charge you again, which could be an entire year. I'm honestly surprised from such a solid service.
"The Agreement is effective upon your acceptance and runs through the Initial Term. In order to prevent unintended Service interruptions, it will automatically renew for successive Renewal Terms each equal to the immediately preceding term unless a Party provides notification of its intent not to renew no later than 30 days prior to the expiration of the active term."

A real support person was easily available to help address our concerns. They were very knowledgeable and got us back up and running quickly. They made the choices easily understandable so that we could make informed decisions. Thank you for getting us out of a sticky situation!

The platform is great. It's fast and secure and everything you would want from a WordPress hosting provider. BUT the Chat Support Team is the cream of the crop. WPEngine hires real people with real knowledge who can really fix your site when you break it.
My client's site went down during migration because of a bonehead move on my part, but a 10 minute chat with the first agent available fixed everything.
It took longer for me to explain what I did than it did for her to fix it.
I've used WPEngine for my clients for over ten years and the chat support is why I have never even considered using anyone else.

I have little to know experience with website "back offices" and ours was recently a victim of a malware attack. The WP Engine Live Chat was AMAZING! They had us cleaned up, rebooted, and safe & sound in no time. THANK YOU!

Great product and great support. Needed help with the plugin and the problem I had turned out to be caused by another plugin. Still, I got the best support to find the cause of the problem.

We signed a 12-month agreement with WP Engine in January 2026 to host three WooCommerce ecommerce sites.
During onboarding, several serious issues arose:
• The automated migration failed for our largest site.
• A manual migration resulted in a database import missing primary keys, requiring SQL intervention.
• The staging environment was unable to process orders correctly.
• We experienced approximately four hours of downtime during migration attempts.
However, our primary concern was infrastructure transparency.
We were informed that our plan included 8 PHP workers across three ecommerce sites. Our existing host confirmed that two of our sites regularly use 6–10 PHP workers each under normal trading conditions. We have 16 php workers per site on our new host and hit those limits a couple of times a day per site.
When we asked for clarity on the underlying environment specification — including CPU and RAM allocation — WP Engine declined to provide that information, stating the stack is proprietary.
As an ecommerce business handling paid traffic and seasonal spikes, we cannot migrate production sites into an environment without knowing the resource capacity. We were later told a significantly larger P4 instance may be required, which materially changed the original scoping discussions.
We requested cancellation during onboarding and within the widely advertised money-back period. Despite no production deployment and no payment having been taken, WP Engine has maintained that the 12-month term remains enforceable.
Support staff were courteous throughout, but the lack of transparency around resource allocation and the handling of cancellation have been deeply disappointing.

Tech support is disjointed and very poor at the primary level. Senior level techs have been at least helpful, but the lack of continuity between switching tech support agents makes the process frustrating, confusing and incredibly unnecessarily time consuming as they never read all the notes from the person previously- especially when it is long and complicated. If moving sites is too complicated for low level techs it would behoove everyone to bypass them altogether to get a site moved. My business has suffered tremendously in this move attempt and I still have not gotten the help I need to make it work. We have been working the back end for over a week with 3 long 8 eight hour support sessions and another 12 hour support session on top of that, each changing agents 6-10 times per session. I really wanted to make this move work...But It has yet to work properly. I will commend a couple High level tech agents who really tried to help and were dedicated to some follow through like Tom S and Michael B. Most of the others were just a huge time sink for me and took me further backwards than forwards-- and my business has suffered tremendously! I am not happy and feel stuck and screwed. I wanted this to work...and it still doesn't...and I'm losing daily until I figure out how to do something different and fix it myself...I'm sad, mad, frustrated disappointed and feel totally upside down and screwed by this process. If you have someone who can fix it I'd love for this experience to turn around. I feel like some offering to balance the scales would be appropriate at this point.
