I've bought several books from WOB and never had a bad experience.
My latest re-read is Needful Things by Stephen King.

I have had a mixed time with WOB sometimes the books graded as like new have been in excellent condition although recently a book arrived grimy with food inside the front cover it was disgusting. As usual after back and forth with multiple customer agents ( bots i can't tell the difference anymore with them ) i was sent a replacement. The book grading system is not adhered to probably because of the high turnover but that is no excuse for sending books out in a state. I have now had to complain about multiple books received and have nearly given up on this business.

How can books be graded very good and good and acceptable on the website and all be the same price??

It's almost like they take a book and just stick a random grading on it so it becomes pot luck for the customer which is beyond frustrating. I would rather not waste my time emailing back and forth with agents about the state of a book.

The reason for this review is that yet again i have had a book graded as very good which has not met
expectation. The book looked like it had blood on the inside cover and even though is was probably something else it made me feel sick. I emailed the cusomer service and it seems to take a full day for any response and multiple agents asking for the same information that has already been sent.

I think i have reached the end of the road with WOB If i had written this review last year i may have given WOB more stars for more positive past experiences with them.

Also the standard response to these reviews from WOB is beyond frustrating especially as they don't bother taking on board what customers say like the mis grading of books and books arriving in a poor state. Dealing with their customer service is like dealing with a computer. You cannot even email the CEO executive team like you can with other companies as they are all private. I'm not sure this is a recent thing since Dan Muccher took over as CEO in 2024. So no people just chat bots and shoddy looking books!! No doubt some stupid AI chat bot with appear at the bottom of this review asking me to get in touch with them.
