Hi Mihaela,

We take reports of unauthorized activity very seriously. We understand your frustration. We're here to help. In your Wise app, go to the 'Card' tab and select 'Freeze card' immediately to prevent further issues.

For any transaction you did not authorize, you must file a formal dispute. Find the specific transaction in your Activity list, tap the '?' icon (or 'Report an issue'), and select 'I don't recognize this.' This starts the legal process with the card network (Visa/Mastercard) to recover your money.

Rest assured, if you've alerted support, your case is being investigated thoroughly and all the necessary measures are being taken. Please don't hesitate to reach back out to us here: https://wi.se/help or DM us on Facebook, Instagram, or X.

Wise is Super Helpful for Sending Money Abroad

I think Wise is really helpful, especially if you need to send or receive money from other countries. It’s fast and doesn’t feel complicated like other apps. You can see the fees clearly, so there are no surprises, which I like a lot.

The app is also simple to use and everything is organized well. It feels safe and trustworthy, and the transfers usually don’t take too long. I also like how you can hold different currencies in one place.

Overall, I had a really good experience using Wise. It’s convenient and reliable, so I would recommend it to anyone who needs to deal with international money.

Unfortunately

Unfortunately, I have no choice but to give 1 star, as the quality of Wise's service has deteriorated drastically over the past period.

My main issue is with the bank cards: the ones I ordered either never arrive at all, or if they do arrive, they don't work. This alone is completely unacceptable from a financial service provider.

To make matters worse, customer support is practically unreachable. When I do manage to get in touch, a completely useless AI bot responds — one that doesn't actually answer the question asked, but instead sends generic, irrelevant messages. They promise a callback, but never call back. Nothing can ever be resolved with them.

I was a loyal customer for years and used to happily recommend their service to others — now I'm doing the exact opposite: I'm warning everyone away from Wise and looking for an alternative.

I hope this feedback reaches the right people and that they make changes to this situation.

Hey, Robert!

And thanks for sharing your concerns with us. When it comes to the card's delivery, the estimated time can depend on the region you're ordering it to: https://wi.se/mywisecardhasntarrived, as well as whether there's been any delays with the local postal service. For any urgent orders, we also offer an option to use expedite delivery which would use a courier to get the card to you within 4 working days, and it can be tracked along the way.

As for using it, there's a couple of common rejection reasons explained here: https://wi.se/declinedtransaction along with some troubleshooting steps. We recommend having a look in case those help resolve the issue, although do note that there can be some regions our card's use is more limited: https://wi.se/whereyoucanuseyourcard which we're unable to change from our end.

If you'd like to get in touch then you can do so through our contact page here: https://wi.se/help, over email as well as phone call, should one option be preferrable to the other. For example, if you're having trouble with the email option or with the chat, we also have phone lines available as an alternative. Alternatively, you can contact us via private messages on our official Facebook, Twitter/X and Instagram channels as well.

Account closure communicated in a confusing and non-transparent way

Updated after Wise’s reply: unfortunately, their response does not reflect my actual experience.

My experience with Wise has been very negative.

I was told that my account would be closed, but I was not given a clear explanation why. The same email address is linked to both my personal and business account, and the communication I received was unclear and lacked transparency throughout.

What made the situation even worse is that when I opened the appeal link a few weeks ago, I was shown a message saying that I could not appeal this case. So in practice, despite what is now being suggested in their reply, I was not actually able to submit any appeal.

This is one of the main reasons why I found the whole process so confusing and frustrating. On the one hand, my account was being closed without a clear explanation. On the other hand, when I tried to challenge the decision, the system told me that an appeal was not possible for this case.

Even more absurdly, as of 19/04/2026, the website still showed me this message: “We’ll close your account on 25 November 2025. Remember to withdraw your money before your account is closed.”
This is clearly confusing, because it refers to a date that had already passed, which only increased the uncertainty.

I have kept screenshots of both the incorrect closure date and the message stating that I could not appeal, because I consider it very serious for a financial service to display such contradictory and confusing information on something as sensitive as the closure of an account.

When it comes to accounts, money, and access to funds, clarity should be the bare minimum. Instead, I experienced vague communication, contradictory information, and no concrete explanation. Their reply to my review did not resolve these concerns; if anything, it reinforced my impression that the handling of my case was inconsistent and unclear.

After reading other reviews, I saw that I am not the only one who has had similar issues, including concerns about funds being blocked. This experience has seriously damaged my trust in the service.

I would not recommend Wise to anyone looking for transparency, reliability, and clear customer communication when dealing with their money.

Hey, there.

We can certainly understand the concern in this type of situation, so please allow us to offer some context. While transparency is one of our key goals, we do have to adhere to financial laws and regulations alongside it, meaning that there can be some scenarios where we can't disclose the exact cause for the account to be closed. This is explained in our Customer Agreement under 8.5: https://wi.se/customeragreement as the notice being given where possible, "unless notifying you would be unlawful or compromise our reasonable security measures."

With that said, it's certainly unusual for the banner to denote an incorrect date. If you've previously submitted an appeal: https://wi.se/appeal and it's still being reviewed, it's possible the closure delay could be due to that, as our team is still looking into a final decision. Otherwise, if you have both a personal and a business account, we recommend checking to which account this applies to, should only one have been closed but not the other.

The same can be said regarding any account statements, since transfers for either profile would only show up under their respective activity list — It wouldn't be possible to download a business statement while logged into your personal profile, for example.

We hope this offers some insight, but should it not help, then our support team is still here for you: https://wi.se/help. They'll be able to advise on any appeal status, whether one or both accounts are or will be closed, as well as assist with downloading statements (up to the date of closure).
