Leasys has done it again!
Booked a car with Leasys (former Win Rent) via Holiday Autos for pick up in Bergamo airport and dropping off at Genoa airport. I was offered a competitive price which I was assured also in a web chat (i've got the evidence) with Holiday Autos that included the one way fee too. Guess what?
Leasys has done it again!! They claim the one way fee wasn't included and they charged me for It! I'm sick and tired of these budget hire companies who attract customers with competitive rental fares just to sting you later with unfair fees!! It seems they survive on that! I've referred the issue to Holiday Autos in the hope they resolve it for me! On a more positive note the staff both at Bergamo and Genoa desk were pleasant and friendly.
Update: finally after about 5 weeks I got my money back after asking Holiday Autos to step in! Will avoid in the future if can be helped!

I rented a car from Lamezia Airport for a week. I had booked a Fiat Tipo but I got a brand new Jeep Compass 2019. The receptionist was very charming and friendly and did the paperwork quickly. I returned the car early in the morning and left the keys in the return box. After two days, the deposit was refunded. Everything went great, the car was very good and the service was better than anywhere else, and the price was low, less than 30 e day zero excess. I no longer rent a car from anywhere else than Winrent/Leasys.

40 Eur charge - it's a SHAME for Win Rent - AVOID this company
I rented a car in February for 5 days in Rome airport from this company and everything was fine at that time. I returned the car without any damage and went home. After 6 weeks they charged me for 40 Eur without any warning so I had to report a fraud transaction to American Express. I saw here on this site that also many other had the same problem with this car rental company. The way they take profit is a shame so avoid this company and go with some other one .

Very disappointed worst experience I’ve seen
I rented the car from Bergamo Airport on 4 February for 5 days. The lady from desk said that they will take 250 euros as deposit and when I will return the car they will send back the deposit. On 19 February they take 230 euros again but don’t return the deposit. They didn't even communicate about the extra amount they took from my creditcard. I write them via WhatsApp and they said that deposit released. I contact my bank but any money there. Today is 12 of March and still I didn’t receive deposit. They write me 3 times that deposit released but unfortunately nothing. I also want some document or receipt about releasing but they didn’t send. It was my first and last time rent from this company. Don’t go with WinRent.

Not trust worthy with your deposit
We rented a car on Saturday 16th Feb 2019 for one week. We inspected the car in detail with the operative and highlighted all the scuffs and marks. The car was kept in a garage during the entire stay. When we returned the car we were told that all was good and that our £300 deposit would be returned within 10minutes. This was at Turin airport. We flew to Bari to catch our connecting flight and still we had no return of our deposit. I went to the Winrent desk in Bari to check on the progress. The opporator there said as it was a Saturday, the banks are closed and that the deposit would be returned by Monday or Tuesday latest. It is now 1st March and I still have not received my deposit even though I emailed Winrent on Wednesday 27th Feb to only have received a general automate email response. I am now co wondering legal action as there has been communication. Where is my deposit Winrent?????

We hired a Duster from this company…
We hired a Duster from this company just a couple of weeks ago. When we arrived there was nobody there at the desk. They eventually arrived and offered the extra insurance. We declined as I had done this already. I was given keys and told roughly where the car was. It was dark.. when we found the car it was dirty on the outside. Thank goodness we took loads of pictures. It had dents, marks and scratches all over it!!
Unfortunately due to a bereavement in the family the very next day we returned the car earlier than arranged. So we had it for just 2 days.
How upsetting it was to then receive an email to say that we had damaged the car and they sent pictures.. luckily.. I had the same pictures of the same damaged areas prior to taking the car. What a scam !!
They probably never repair but try this on everyone that hires. Budget car. Then try to get the repair money. Just so thankful that I took pictures before I drove it away.
I was left panicking because when I sent a reply with photos they didn’t even send a reply. So I was left waiting to see if the ecess of nearly £800 was going to be taken out of my account. Thankfully it wasn’t. Don’t trust this company. Scammers ...

I made the reservation from…Bergamo Orio al Serio airport
I made the reservation from rentalcars.com ,ref no 355642677, choosing one of winrent's offers, they call it flexi.
They gave me a diesel citroen c4 cactus in Bergamo Orio al Serio airport rental place, with a full tank, as per their policy.
It was shady from the start, first of all i had prepaid the child seat, nut the clerk at the desk told me i need to pay 35 € for it and when i wanted to pay with my card, she suggested that it's better to pay cash as paying by card would imply additional fees.
I drove the car to Passo Tonale were we stayed for 7 days.
The car had a warning message from the get go, something related to "urea" additive needed.
3 days after we rented it, the car wouldn't start, it was approximately 9 AM on 29th of January 2019, and this is where my troubles began.
Luckily this happened in front of my hotel, in the parking, so i left the car there and went about my day.
I was being passed from the Bergamo desk where i rented to the winrent call center, it took about 1 hour to get them to open a case.
After that i was called by the technical assistance call center which did not have any details related to the rental reference number, the plate number of the car, etc. details which they should have received from winrent's call center.
I was informed via test message that technical assistance would arrive at 2 PM, and they were punctual.
The care was toed away as the diagnosis was frozen diesel, and they needed to get the car to a garage for repairs, they just needed the approval and agreement of payment from winrent in order to proceed with the repairs.
I received a call from technical assistance that they will not repair the car as winrent asked for too many procedures, photos, etc., so again i called the Bergamo desk.
I was informed that i need to go to the nearest Winrent office to get another car, as this is their policy, and that i will be reimbursed the money spent to arrive there, which i never was, not from the Trento office where i got the replacement car, nor from the Bergamo office where i returned it, even though both offices made copies of the taxi receipt i was given.
The next day i received an email from winrent that a damage file was opened for the broken down car, file nr. 905691, and that the total cost of emergency service and repairs is 292.80 € which they will charge my credit card.
Since i got the car i drove it from Bergamo airport to Passo Tonale, consuming 1/4 of the tank, i did not add any diesel, so why should i pay for the repairs?
Winrent did not even bother to check that the full insurance from rentalcars covers both mechanical repairs as well as toeing fees, and emergency assistance.
On arrival i asked they reimburse me the fare money from Passo Tonale to Trento, which they didn't.
Conclusion: stay away from Winrent, they will trick into paying cash for something that is already prepaid, if the car brakes down you have to go to the nearest winrent office to get a replacement car, they will charge you for the repairs regardless which type of insurance you have bought.
You rent, they win!
3 days after and they sent me an email with a bill of 54 euros, i replied asking what the bill is for, no reply, they just took the money from my account....

Rented at Ciampino
Rented at Ciampino, good car, professional helpful service. A lot of people complain about insurance costs. Unlike many car hire companies you can buy fully comprehensive insurance with zero excess on the winrent website. I would recommend renting that way as there will be no surprises. No car hire business would be able to operate if they really charged the customers 6 pounds a day although you can find these prices on comparison sites.

ROBBED
We arrived at Milan airport and had booked a car with Winrent. It wasn't easy to locate the office and the staff weren't too professional, but we accepted that this was the shortcoming of a low cost budget car rental company. We pre-paid for a 4 day rental, but was offered an insurance to cover the excess of £900, which we opted to NOT take since the insurance offered was £75, a large percentage of what we paid for the rental. We had no problems with the car and returned it. However, on return to the UK we received the invoice where they had deducted the insurance we didnt want. Despite querying this with them they would not refund us, so we have been £75 out of pocket. The problem here is to deal with this company from the UK. RECOMMENDATION: GO WITH A REPUTABLE COMPANY. DON'T GO WITH WINRENT. THE GENERAL CONSENSUS OF LOW RATING IS CORRECT!!

I will never ever recommend WinRent for anyone!!!!!!!
Worst company ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I rented a car in Palermo, Italy for WinRent Italy in July 2018, everything went well. We paid for everything and left the car with no problems or damages. I also recieved a reciept for everything leaving a OK as the manager checked the car for damages.
Now 4 month later in november 2018 the company accuses me for violation of the car and sending me an invoice of a fine 40 Euro, although I have recieved an OK of the manager and I have the reciept.
I am sad to say that a big car rental company like Win Rent do not have any good customer service. I will never recommend anyone for this bogus company.

SCAMMERS! (Booking 42315)
Do NOT rent from this company. We rented a car at the counter, so didn't made a reservation in advance. We asked to rent a car for 5 days, brought it back in time and when we came back home discovered that there were two amounts taken of my creditcard. After a call with Winrent I discovered that the employee at the counter made a contract just for 4 days, so in their opinion we returned the car 1 day to late. Winrent didn't communicate about this all! When we returned the car, the employee says everything was fine en wished us a safe travel home. They didn't even communicate about the extra amount they took from my creditcard. I know I was wrong to sign the contract, but how they try to (NOT) resolve this problem and the way they communicate, it feels like a planned SCAM!

Pleasant Employee & car but lacking in other areas.....read on
I rented a car from Alghero airport between 30 march 2018 to 10 April 2018. I actually booked through Sixit in the UK but they have no office at Alghero airport and so direct you to the Winrent office - presumably there is some sort of partnership between the two. Anyway, we spent the first 2 days in the city centre(as hotel parking was very restricted) before picking up the car on the third day when we were leaving the city to explore the rest of Sardinia. There was no option for us to pick the car up from Alghero city centre where our hotel was located as Winrent has no presence there (at least no presence open on that particular Saturday before Easter Sunday) - so we had to go to Alghero airport, which is a 30 Euro cab ride or take a bus at a fraction of that price, which we did. We also got charged an additional premium location fee of 80 Euros for picking up the car from the airport - which was levied when I booked - it was mandatory. Anyway, on arrival at the airport we went to the Winrent desk and was met by a very pleasant man called Lorenzo - who retrieved our booking and expedited the formalities of checking ID, payment, insurance etc. We were led to the car, 5 minutes walk away - which was identical to what we had asked for at time of booking - a Fiat 500L TREK Diesel. Lorenzo was able to help me deal with the quirky handbrake mechanism and any other issues. Car was immaculate and clean and drove very well around all the parts of Sardinia we went to - particularly some of the tedious mountain roads on the gulf of Orosei National park on the East coast. There were no issues with the car over 10 days, even though I did struggle to find the fog lights, which were needed as clouds descended quickly at times whilst driving high in the mountain range. Diesel consumption was reasonable and the car was in good shape, smooth and very easily driveable. Anyway, at the end of our trip we returned the car to the airport at Winrent car parking area. The only problem is you then have to walk from the car park to the airport building to alert an official, who then comes out as Winrent have no office or visible employees in their car park. I did try to call the airport building office of Winrent but no one picked up. Anyway, I went into the airport and saw Lorenzo at the Winrent desk and he came to check the car out - there were no problems and we quickly said our goodbyes.....very pleasant check out. I have marked this review 3 mainly because of 3 things. Firstly, the additional premium location fee, which is scandalous, especially as you don't have any other option of where to collect the car. Secondly, no city centre location -this is important as you may not want to be driving from day one and prefer to visit the city first and then head off straight on your journey to other parts off Alghero.Thirdly, the lack of a presence nor portacabin iin the Airport car park. I feel it is unreasonable to expect customers dropping off the car to have to walk to the ariport building and alert an official, especially as you then have to walk back to check the car with the official. All the main rivals have a portacabin and employees in their car park. That said, Lorenzo was brilliant.....he was a great exponent of Winrent and was very professional in all his dealings with us. He had a very pleasant manner and gave you the confidence that you were not being trapped. He never insisted on extra insurance etc, just pointed out type of covers etc. Plus when inspecting the car, he wasn't looking for scratches that weren't there before we rented. As you will see from my other reviews of a rival car here company, Europcar, my experience was very different. Certainly Winrent is the best car rental experience I have had from the three I have used in Sardinia. Well done Lorenzo but Winrent please take note of what I said regarding the exorbitant premium location fee; lack of city centre presence or to be open like most of your rivals do on Saturdays. Also a employee and office presence is needed in the airport car park.

Same story as many others on here. Returned the car clean and on time and was signed off and verified as such.
About 6 weeks following the rental the mysterious 40 EUR charge appears on my American Express. No justification or reason whatsoever. This happens too much to be a coincidence.
Winrent - you have 48 hours to rectify this otherwise I am;
a. Notifying American Express that this is a fraudulent transaction
b. Campaigning with Rentalcars.com to get you removed from their platform based on all of the Trustpilot reviews on you.
You cannot run a business this way in these times.

Great experience with Winrent !!
I am completely satisfied & happy with all aspects of my experience with Winrent. I booked direct with them online and found the website easy to navigate & terms and conditions clear. I opted for the Nissan Qashqai (or similar) with complete insurance waiver package for peace of mind. I was very pleased with the overall price & email confirmations after booking. Upon arrival at the airport (Palermo, Sicily) whilst wading through the long queues for other well-known car hire companies, I was pleased to see no que for Winrent – happy days! A quick 5 minutes of going through details & a copy of my credit card (for security only, no money was taken), I was handed the key for a Qashqai (I was dreading this part because of past experiences with getting fobbed off with tired looking cars with war wounds). To my pleasant surprise I found myself looking at a new (12k miles) top of the range Qashqai with not a scratch in sight. Fantastic car to drive & thankfully no problems whatsoever. We dropped the car back out of office hours & key in the drop box and received an email several days later to say our emergency credit card deposit was released. A smooth experience from start to finish. Would highly recommend this company.

Disputed charge from Win Rent.
I rented a car from Win Rent through Rentalcars.com. The car was collected 1st September from Rome Ciampino Airport and returned 8th September to Rome Ciampino Airport, fully fuelled and without damage. My deposit was fully refunded three days later with an emailed invoice showing zero owed.. Three weeks later, my credit card statement showed a charge from Win Rent at Rome Fiumicino Airport for 87.46 Euros with no explanation why or where that charge came from. I have lodged a disputed charge with my credit card company and I am still waiting for a refund and explanation which I hope is a simple mistake by Win Rent.

Nice car but subsequent ripoff charges…
Nice car but subsequent ripoff charges ....
No wait for collecting or returning car, at Olbia airport, which was much better than other hire company desks which had long queues. Got Kia in decent condition (after rejecting a horrible Dacia which was much larger than car ordered).
Would have been a 4 star review but after returning car and being told it was all good, got an email later in Italian for "accessories", which when challenged they claimed was a cleaning charge - for a car they had agreed was fine on dropoff.
Of course I had taken photos of car before and after. After two emails they agreed to refund the charge, but didn't actually do so. Then ignored thrid email. Just a standard rip off approach. Firtunately I used American Express who sorted for me immediately.
